I decided to go on this cruise spur of the moment while dealing with some loneliness and depression, and I was fortunate enough to get a ticket. Looking back, I'm so glad I did. When I say this experience was awesome and refreshing, I truly mean it. The views during the boat ride were absolutely amazing, and for a few hours I felt completely at peace--as if all my troubles had simply vanished. The atmosphere was relaxing, the scenery was beautiful, and it gave me a chance to clear my mind and just enjoy the moment. One of the things I enjoyed most was watching families and friends have a great time together. It was uplifting to see so many people creating memories, and I even had the opportunity to meet a few genuinely kind and interesting people along the way. I recommend bringing sunglasses and or sun hat if you're going to sit at the top of the boat, especially on a sunny day! Cruise | Informative! We were given the history of Long Beach, cruised by plenty of colorful shipping containers, as well as enjoyed the gorgeous views of Long Beach! The person on the loudspeaker did a fantastic job! I'm new to exploring the Long Beach area, so the information was helpful! Other Passengers | While chatting with my friend, a woman from Pacific Palisades joined us! She had a margarita in one hand and a big personality in the other hand! Haha! She had me laughing, nearly nonstop! She was hilarious, which made the boat ride even more fun! She even turned up music on her iPhone to add to the ambience! Good times, great energy! Cost: $19 per person! Score! The cruise was about an hour! Customer Service | The woman who booked us on the last-minute cruise, which was leaving in less than five minutes, was so friendly! She was personality plus, thanks again! Booked a 3.5-hour yacht cruise to celebrate mom's milestone birthday on 5/16/26 thinking this will be better than her bday celebration of around 60 guests last year in a restaurant. To ensure a great experience, we deliberately avoided the cheapest package, paid for 70 adults and 9 kids (toddlers 0-4 free). Because our actual turnout was lower (67 adults and 8 kids), we expected at least average service and not run out of food (the fact that some of the 67+8 guests were seasick and unable to eat AT ALL). Instead, it was an absolute disaster! *The Service was Non-Existent: Missing Staff: The crew was completely invisible. We constantly had to HUNT them down for BASIC needs. Severely Understaffed: There was only ONE bartender assigned to a 70-guest event! On a STRICT 3.5-hour cruise, this caused a delay. By mid-cruise, the lone bartender was visibly exhausted and became dismissive giving attitude even when guests just asked for water. *The Food was Incomplete and Shorted: Unacceptable Portions: The beef entree they brought out was only half the tray that was put together with the chicken entree--not even enough to feed 40 people, let alone our paid headcount. Forgotten Items: They served plain lettuce and croutons with NO salad dressing. When some of the guests asked about it, the crew admitted they "forgot" it. That was the only time it was brought out. Missing Dessert: The mini cupcakes listed on our paid menu were NEVER served. When I confronted staff, they simply said they "forgot" them too and never brought out any. The Only Saving Grace: The only reason our guests had any fun at all was the cruise itself (views) and the program we prepared ourselves to keep everyone entertained, completely making up for the total lack of service, food and hospitality provided by Spirit Cruises! Paying premium prices should guarantee BASIC competence, FULL food portions, and ADEQUATE staffing at the very LEAST. The sheer lack of management and care ruined what should have been a seamless family milestone. Save your money and take your celebrations elsewhere... I should've relied on the negative reviews! Emailed them right away the day after the event but not a single response as of today, 5/20/26. UPDATE: Management replied with a 9-day delay claiming my email went to their spam folder. Instead of offering a fair resolution, they attempted to charge $1k for a 30-minute delay that we have time-stamped parking records to disprove. They even tried to intimidate us by stating they are lawyers, threats of public retaliation on my reviews, and made personal accusations to deflect from their clear negligence. We booked a New Year's Eve dinner cruise expecting a reasonably comfortable dinner experience. That expectation was not met. There was not enough indoor seating for all guests, and many people were forced onto an upper deck on a cold, rainy night. The upper deck was poorly covered, wet, and uncomfortable, which made it difficult to eat or enjoy the evening. The food quality was poor, items ran out multiple times, and plates and utensils were unavailable at points. Overall, the operation felt overcrowded and disorganized, and it was not an enjoyable way to spend New Year's Eve. After significant back‑and‑forth, Spirit Cruises did eventually issue a refund by check, which I appreciate. However, that does not change how disappointing the actual experience was. We went out on their boat for a Sea Scattering ceremony. Chaplain Rene led our ceremony and Captain Nick was at the helm. It was a beautiful service on their boat. The boat itself is very nice. It has a large interior with tables and big windows. The bow has seating and the upper deck is open, also with seating. It's a nice vessel. I definitely would recommend using them. For the occasion, I'm really happy that my family and I had the opportunity to experience this harbor one hour Sunset Cruise. It allowed for all of us to gather together have great conversation and taken some beautiful views. This was a fun little cruise as the second level had music playing, and the first level you had the option to purchase your spirits drinks. From the box office for tickets to the crew on the vote everyone was fairly pleasant and patient. there were seven of us and an infant that needed to board right at seven and they gladly waited for us. From what I can recall, you're able to buy your tickets starting at 45 minutes before the next cruise takes place not any earlier. You can also visit their website to purchase tickets in advance as well. a stroller they ask that you leave it at the dock just to accommodate for space on the boat overall but still just being courteous leaving oversize items behind if possible. Anytime of the day that you do there cruises will be enjoyable, but I think that the sunset cruise would be the most beautiful. And you have the opportunity to see the city lit up at night. read more

We took the one hour cruise that leaves from Shoreline Village and had no complaints. The only issue was that you really couldn't hear what the captain was saying. My friends and I came on a Harbor Sunset cruise after a long day at the Aquarium. It was only $17.00 and lasts about 45-50 minutes. That's a pretty good deal. So we got our tickets and waited in line. Part of the reason that we decided to go on the tour was the beautiful boat that was docked and being cleaned off. We were under the impression that this was going to be our tour boat. About 10 minutes later this ugly looking tug boat pulled up behind the beautiful boat and I knew that we had the old "bait and switch". Now, they didn't tell us that which boat we were going to be taking but it seemed like we would be taking the nicer one. That's why I can only give 4 stars instead of 5. However, the tour was great. We were able to catch the sunset and it was so beautiful. We toured the harbor and got some interesting facts about the landmarks along the way. We were on the top deck to get the best views and when it got too cold we went down below. Unfortunately, the windows were so old/foggy/not transparent that you could not see anything from downstairs. The tour was almost over so that was OK anyways but still...you should have a view from wherever you sit. I would hold out for the nicer boat in the future. They must use that for a dining cruise. But if you just want to zip around the harbor and get some great pictures for a cheap price, this fits the bill. read more

The deck is nice, but the front of the boat was my favorite. Wherever you are, the captain gives you a nice little rundown of your current location and what you're looking at. If you're interested in imbibing on your cruise, they have a bar with some moderately priced cocktails as well as some specials of the day. Both of us have a history of sea sickness so we were testing the waters ;) We both did just fine! The city of LB happened to be hosting an event that changed our boarding location. After a couple years, I made it on the list for the free Port of Long Beach Harbor Tour. Now, the questions was who was hosting and where do I go. It looks like the Port of Long Beach contracted Spirit Cruises at Shoreline Village in Long Beach. Located at Dock 9 at Shoreline Village near Parker's Lighthouse, you'll find Spirit Cruises. I did not park here, but took public transportation via Blue Line. Its a quick 15 minute walk or fast 3-5 minute ride to Shoreline Village via free bus line called The Passport. It is advised that you show up 15-20 minutes before departure. Plus, you'll get a great view. I am not sure how many boats that Spirit Cruises owns, but I was able to ride one called Pacific Spirit. Its a two decker boat. On those hot, warm days, you'll want to sit on the top deck and get the breeze. One those romantic cold nights, you can sit in the enclosed, lower levels. There is a bar area if you decide to grab a drink or are simply getting very thirsty with all that water around you. I am not sure what tours that Spirit Cruises offers, but for my tour, it was a tour of the Port of Long Beach. The second busiest port in the United States. The boat is very smooth. Unfortunately, when the Catalina Express or some fast boat passes through, you'll get a wake from the waves generated from those boats. I almost thought it was a Star Trek type feeling. Captain, we are about to enter a temporal wake. Sorry, Trekkie here! You'll hear everything that the Captain or the Emcee are providing info. If Spirit Cruises does whale watching cruises, this will be helpful. Overall, it was a smooth ride. I had whale watching cruises and I have gotten nauseated and their boats were brand new. This boat must be at least 15 years old, but sailed like it was brand new. I am glad that my years waiting to be on the Port of Long Beach Harbor Tours is over. We took this cruise on New Years Eve which is also my husband's birthday. I was so disappointed. For dinner they had us packed in like sardines inside the boat at flimsy card tables covered with tablecloths. You couldn't move once you sat down. I ended up sitting at a table with people I didn't even know and was separated from my group because the seating wasn't assigned or organized. The bathrooms were small closets with a toilet inside. One toilet closet was out of order and unflushed. The food was pasta buffet and more like cafeteria than dinner cruise. We ended up going to the top deck where it was freezing because it's not enclosed but at least there was room to move around. This a a good choice if you want to take a no frills short boat ride around the harbor. I'll never go back again and feel ripped off paying that much money for ride around the harbor in an old boat. read more

We had a fun Friday afternoon on the water thanks to Spirit Cruises. I was looking something inexpensive for our family to do while visiting my hometown of LB. The cruise seemed like a fun idea costing $37 for 3 of us. We got our tickets at the booth 30 min prior and were loaded onto the boat 5 min before departure. There were only 6 of us on the boat which was very nice. Plenty of room to move around and take photos. There was a bathroom and drinks bar on board. The tour itself was kind of boring, mostly showing you the oil tankers and ships docked in the harbor, but the scenery is beautiful. You get an up close view of the Queen Mary and just a lovely ocean view. It takes exactly one hour. I would recommend for tourists or locals to experience. read more

Went on a cruise not too long ago as part of a day at Long Beach that I organized for my boyfriend and I. I had one of those GO Los Angeles passes and it was very hassle free to redeem it for a ticket at the booth. We got on the boat and one of the crew members looked like he just hated life and didn't want to be there. But he made some decent margaritas so I forgave him. The cruise itself was pretty nice and breezy. There wasn't much to see, but the captain made it entertaining and explained the interesting history of the harbor. We were here last night with a group of about 25 people for an anniversary dinner. I was a bit skeptical at first because I've only ever been on the hornblower cruise but upon boarding, I was very surprised. It's smaller, so more of an intimate feel. The tables were set up nicely and the view was amazing. We started off with a salad and dinner roles. After, entree included steak, chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans - super delicious. I wish I could've ate the whole thing but motion sickness was winning!And for dessert, assorted mini cupcakes, soo good! Also, open bar ftw! They played light music in the beginning and upbeat music afterwards. Our group has an amazing time and think we also entertained the other few guests who were on board haha. I highly recommend the dinner cruise to everyone. I saw a few reviews of people complaining about plastic cups, plates and utensils - I don't understand why anyone would complain when they're getting a 3 course meal and a cruise for such a great price. If that's really you're only complaint, please go on the hornblower cruise and pay double the price because you want actual plates and silverware (eyeroll). Staff was super nice and friendly. Just had a fun little cruise with these guys. I didn't do the organizing so I can't tell you how their customer service is on the booking end, but on the boat, they were very nice and courteous. They served food promptly and cleaned up quickly. Stereo system was perfect. It was cold outside so we were thankful for the cozy interior dining room. It was a lot of fun for a good price. The unlimited margaritas probably had absolutely no tequila (I'm a lightweight but I could taste/feel it) but it was nice that the bar is set up right where you enter. The boat was perfect for our group of 50. One thing... I had pretty bad food poisoning about 2 hours after eating and it might have something to do with the salsa or beef tacos. I can't be sure it's Spirit Cruises that did it since food poisoning can happen within 24 hours, so I won't dock any stars, but it's probably worth mentioning in case anyone else had the same experience.... read more

Took the 1 hour harbor cruise today. Hot and humid at the shore but gorgeous weather out at sea. The pilot did a great job informing us of our boring scenery. Cargo containers stacked up don't get exciting unless you put some contraband in them. It was a very nice cruise, we actually went kind of far. I sat for a while up on top until it got too cold then went down to the bow. Huge mistake! The swells were coming in and I got soaked. At one point the bow dipped so far down I was airborne for a second and fell, scraping my elbow and losing my sandal. *I now understand how people fall off of boats.* 4.9 wonderful stars for this cruise! I wish I hadn't fallen and gotten wet. It felt like I was on the Tower of Terror for a minute because the boat dropped from underneath me when I tried to stand up and move away from the spray. Scary. Gonna try their lunch cruise next and definitely stay away from the bow! ;) read more

I recently went on a "Harbor Cruise" aboard Spirit Cruiselines. The boat was very clean and the tour was very informative. You can tell the narrator for the cruise really knew his stuff. The boat also had a bar located on the first floor and it was nice to be able to relax up top and drink a beer while taking in the sites.
