2 stars because this place looked awesome! We were so bummed we never got to try this place. We walked in with a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids). The hostess said the wait would be an hour because they had a bigger reservation ahead of us. We told her we could split our party up and she said that would not work. I asked to put our name on the wait list and she said they were not taking reservations. After exhausting all of our suggestions (because we were willing to wait), we clearly weren't meant to eat here. We couldn't get past the gatekeeper! read more

This place was amazing- really! We came here as a last chance after going to every restaurant in Wallace. My Mother is allergic to soy- so no soy oil, which is used in a lot of cooking. My father and I picked up togo food from another restaurant in town (1313) and we had checked everywhere for my Mom and no one could help us. I read the City Limits Brew Pub website and noticed they made so many things in house even their salad dressing and bread! We drove over not sure if they could accommodate us- the first guy we spoke to upon walking through the door was so nice and reassuring! He said - sure we can accommodate you and we use canola oil! And he said it in such a way as if it wasn't a big deal! So great! We went to the bar to order togo and talked to a woman (the manager?) who was wonderful and helpful! She said they deal with lots of allergies and it wasn't a big deal- soy, dairy, gluten! She checked on a few things and let my Mom know whether some things were yes or no's. My Mom was so excited to be able to eat the raviolis! She got a small salad too. She wants me to put in this review that the salad was such a great salad - dark greens- the good healthy stuff! She said the raviolis in marinara sauce were so good! 3 gigantic ones! I asked her how many stars should we give and she said 5!! Because the food was really delicious and the staff was so incredibly wonderful! And they truly were! She said the staff there was the most helpful staff of all the restaurants we went to on our two week road trip! read more

Neat place, with a great brew product. Granted, I only tried their Cripple Creek IPA, but it was excellent and all beers are made on premises. But in reading previous reviews, we were there for the food. Everything was well prepared. My Reuben had a perfect amount of corned beef on it, which I appreciated, because they can be pretty hit-or-miss in bar joints. My 16-yr old daughter is a maple syrup freak, and found her 'new fave burger' in their Maple Burger. It does sound odd, and yes there is maple syrup on it, but judging by her guttural yummy sounds, this was a burger that would make a carnivorous Canadian blush. I was not allowed a bite, haha. Service was fine, and the friendly young hostess was all over the dining area making sure everybody was well taken care of. We'll try them for din-din next time. Good pub style food. I had the Cuban panini with sweet potato fries. It was very good. Service was great. Great local craft beer.

The service is lacking. We were a party of five on Saturday night. It took 35 minutes to be sat which is normally no big deal, however we sat staring at dirty tables while two female employees chit chatted with family or friends for quite a bit. Once finally seated ( we each ordered beers from the bar to hold us over) we watched our waiter check his phone continuously over by the soda machine and went to the bar for the next round of drinks. The four top behind us was complaining that they were waiting on ranch , the two top next to the tv was staring at the server for their check, and the six top was waiting for to go boxes. All of us were staring right at him in bewilderment mentioning how we couldn't believe he was just standing their texting in the wide open. Meanwhile the bartender was leaning against a post talking away. Here's my tip : it's totally fine to check your phone but 1) you do it out of sight of customers and 2) you make sure everyone has been dealt with before non stop texting. I also believe that a restaurant is a team. If the bar is slow enough to be leaning and chit chatting you have time to walk around the tables and help bus, ask if anyone needs a bar drink, their bill, maybe hand out a Togo box real quick ( you can do all of this by still keeping a great eye on your bar). Food was amazing but the staff needs more training. I would suggest telling your waiter to leave his phone in the kitchen. My wife, 2 year old daughter and I came here for lunch. We were greeted right away with very friendly staff who set us up a table with a booster seat before we even came in because they saw us from the parking lot. My wife ordered the maple burger, I ordered the miners delight burger, and my daughter had a kids cheeburger with a side of applesauce. The maple burger was a nice balance of savory and sweet, and the miners delight was super tasty, with brisket, bacon, patty, pepper jack, and jalapenos it's pretty hard to screw it up. I'm pretty wimpy when it comes to spicy food, so I was surprised to find the jalapenos didn't have much kick. I gotta say though, I think the best thing out of all our dishes was my daughters applesauce, I would be surpised if it wasn't home made. It was super dark, and had chunks of Apple in it and just the right amount of cinnamon. Oh,and their beer is pretty dang good too! The atmosphere is pretty much what you'd expect of a pub, lots of TVs with sports on, lots of wood, it's family friendly but not really a family restaurant. The coolest thing is their homage to the local mining history, they have a functional replica headframe in the middle of the dining area that they use to hoist supplies from the basement, it even has a skwak box by it. Don't order the meatloaf. It's like a taco meatloaf. I'm not sure why you have to screw up a basic meatloaf with taco seasoning. It was very strange and tasted bad. read more

Wasn't expecting to give this place 5 stars when I walked in and saw the menu. However, the friendly staff, quick service, fabulous beer and great food made it a no brainer. We drive by this town often and finally decided to give Wallace restaurants a try. Most places were closed as it's still their winter season but City Limits Pub & Grill was open for business. We started with the hummus plate and beer sampler. It was just me & my husband and we initially ordered 2 beer samplers and the bartender actually advised us to start with 1. Thank goodness she did as we were barely able to finish the 1. Hummus plate was excellent and pretty good portion size. My husband ordered the flat iron steak and the portion size was also good and cooked to perfection. I had the squash & chickpeas (only because I had never seen anything like it on a menu before) and I'd definitely order it again. Our waitress was attentive with the cutest personality which made the dining experience even better. For a grand total of $45 we left the place so thankful (and stuffed) that we stopped here. If you're driving through this beautiful part of the country you should definitely give this place a try. read more

We made it down to the famed Huckleberry Festival by chance this year and while w e enjoyed our Huckleberry Ale as we strolled they had no food vendors! Se we stopped a couple on the street and asked for a good place to eat and they were pretty excited to tell us abut City Limits. I can see why. But first let me start with the Blood Orange brew! Lets just say YUMMY!!! And full bodied and refreshing. It is so good!!!! I will go back to City Limits just for that beer alone! For lunch we hit it 50/50. Sometimes we try to order menu items that are things we would never really try, so this time out we ordered the strawberry spinach salad. And it was fantastic!!!! I always thought I would not like a fruity salad but with the walnuts, the bleu cheese crumbles and poppyseed vinaigrette I was blown away at how good it was!!! Unfortunately we tried the Caprese Panini. The first time it came out it was burnt (as pictured). I have to say I was excited about it and when we did get it cooked as it should be, it was good. Nice flavor, but truth be told it just didn't hit the spot. i wouldn't order that again but I did see some other orders come out that looked fantastic including a cheese burger and a taco salad!!! Today is 7-4-2020 the middle of the Coronavirus Pandemic, we walked to the restaurant and it was packed inside (no social distancing). We walked outside to call and order takeout from the posted menu. When I called they told me they were not doing take out orders. I informed them that we were literally standing right outside the restaurant and that we had underlying health conditions that made us uncomfortable dining in. Again they told me they were refusing us take out service. Unacceptable. The health and safety of customers should be the #1 priority. Very disappointed especially considering that this establishment has such high reviews. Please dine somewhere else in town. We walked by many businesses that had precautions prominently posted. Was recommended this place after doing the route of Hiawatha. It severely disappointed, waitress didn't check on us and forgot my partners drink. Meal was subpar at best, the pork chop was undercooked and the meatloaf disappointed, vegetable sides were bland. Had to wait for a table which was fine but it would have been nice to be able to order a beer at the bar while waiting. I tried to go a little healthy so I ordered a fish taco. Meh. We went here on a Wednesday evening and were greeted by the hostess who seemed flustered. We asked for a table for 3, and she had to excuse herself to go ask someone else if they could accommodate us because like another review said they were "waiting on big parties ". After a 5-10 minute wait she said we could be seated. Fast forward to the food, which was incredibly slow considering the emptiness of the dining room (still no big parties..) I ordered the chicken burger which was supposed to be a chicken breast sandwich but it was actually cut up pieces of chicken on a bun. Weird. It was ok, I definitely wouldn't order it again and I doubt I'd go back. The table behind us ordered drinks from the bar, and the waitress put a straw in the glass, with no paper on top and proceeded to stir the drink with her fingers directly where the person would be drinking from. Super unsanitary especially in a pandemic. After spending a total of two plus hours or so in the restaurant, not one "big party " walked through the door. I understand this is a small town restaurant, but it definitely wouldn't make it in a big city unless they made some changes. read more

I will always give this place 5 stars because their beer is just unbeatable. Food is decent but I would not drive to Wallace if it was not for loft honey. Speaking of Wallace... Wallace is a unique place Kind of a world in it's own Cross between twilight zone, M night shamalan, and joe dirt movies Never know if people are gonna offer you there 4 wheeler or walk backwards shooting at each other while dead animals fall out of the sky... We were impressed with the menu. It had a good variety of burgers,appetizers and entrees. Asked for a brewery sample tray...got ten..all made in house....all good beers.. Had chips and salsa to "clear my beer palate". The salsa tastes home made. Ordered a burger. And a veggie burger. Both had soup instead of fries...and was tasty. (ok ..we had already finished six if the ten beers) My wife had the veggie burger which I was expecting to be the standard freezer burned Costco. But. It wasn't..my wife raved. Oh my god. This is delicious.. and she had only one beer. The Yelp says $$. We thought pricing was $. Ten beers two burgers. Chips and salsa. 7.50 tip to a great server. It's a down home place. We wandered our way here for some dinner after our first day snowboarding. Feeling accomplished and excited we wanted to celebrate with a nice juicy steak. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waitress also brought water and took our order in jiff, though it definitely appeared as though she was pretty unhappy to be there. We immediately noticed looking at the menu this is a carb heavy place, not a single appetizer fit our dietary limitations. No worries, we came for steak! Our choice of sides were pretty much limited to salad and vegetables. The salad was larger and better than a lot of upscale places, win. The vegetable... plain, steamed or maybe even just boiled, undercooked broccoli, fail. When I say plain, I mean no salt, not tossed in EVO, just plain, straight from the freezer broccoli. No worries, we came for the steak! I had the ribeye, my beau had the baseball and they were both "just alright". The food is awesome, spinach dip and three cheese ravioli with Alfredo are both awesome but a tad bit much garlic chunks. Stopped in last night to grab some dinner with my in-laws while we're in town. I ordered the fish tacos which were overall pretty good. The tortilla is more of a quesadilla which was probably my favorite part. They do serve it with slightly too much cabbage and I wish the salsa would have tasted more authentic than from a jar. I'm pretty positive is was just Pace salsa kinda lame. I did manage to try one of their locally brewed beers. I ordered the raspberry wheat simply because it was one of the beers with a lower percentage. The raspberry taste was so dang good and not overwhelming which was nice. As far as ambience goes the crowd is definitely older and not friendly. I have a wild toddler and even the slightest noise he would make people would stare and roll their eyes must be the old crabby peoples local place haha. I'm not giving this location a 5 star rating due to very slow service and just overall attitude from the servers. Also I think this place would benefit from having a few more TVs around the place instead of just the bar since it claims to be a pub. read more

Stopped in Wallace on our trip from montana to Oregon. Found this place for dinner- great find! I had the stir fried veggies (so good!) and the chicken wings. We ordered take-out for 7 after a day on the trail. Everything was cooked as asked and still hot when we got back to our room. Portions were very generous! My daughter's raviolis were as big as her fist! I got the grilled pork tenderloin with cranberry balsamic dressing and it was one of the most delicious pieces of meat I have ever had. One time I had to wait 30 minutes just to get water and a menu after they had seated me. And it was not very busy. If you are a beer drinker you'll probably like this place. Straight amazing! Hidden gem in idaho that offers their owned brewed brew! Great atmosphere and great staff make it fun to be there. Years ago this was our favorite place to eat in Wallace, but the last 3 visits have been horrible for service. They don't seem to staff up for major festivals/events so everything goes downhill. The real insult was just last Friday when we wanted to order over the phone and pick up and were told it would be 45 minutes and we said that was fine, then the person put me on hold and came back and said, "We are too busy to take a phone/pick up order"! The food is good, I can't deny that, but will not go back after that experience. The time before was during the Blues Fest and waited 45 minutes to be seated and over an hour for the food. Someone needs to look at the staffing strategy for peaks in business. We tried Jamison's, and Blackboard Cafe and both places were awesome. So we are excited to have found our new go-too for good food and outstanding service! read more

My wife and went to the "Pub" as we call it here in Wallace, this past Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov 11, 2023, for dinner and a beer, when we got there I ordered my beer and my wife asked if there was any Veterans Day specials she didn't know so she asked the manager and came back and told us " no, when is it?" I was dumbfounded but no problem not everyone cares about the people that served there country so they can live a free life. We've been coming here since it first opened up, years ago but haven't been since this past spring, I ordered the fish and chips which were always really good and were this time too, but, they used to be around $12.00, they are now $21.00, wow thats quite a jump. Now " Fish and Chips, literally means fish with chips (fries) but not here, even though it actually says " Fish and Chips" on the menu they actually mean you don't get chips(fries) unless you order fries as your side dish. They need to change there menu to just say Fish and a side..., my wife ordered a French dip, she was very unsatisfied with her sandwich, very soggy, very little meat and the au-ju was so salty she couldn't use it, also hands down the very worse coleslaw I've ever had, very bitter and tasted old. The waitress was attentive when she wasn't talking to the other people working there and there Mountain Amber Ale is awesome as always, but we won't be going back, I can get a better meal much cheaper someplace else that actually cares and supports Veterans. read more

You will never have wings like this place. I would of gave it 5 stars as the wings were off the hook good. But it's also a brewery and our waitress knew nothing about there In house brews so we ended up with a domestic beer with our wings . The wings anyways aren't really wings there 100% white meat chunks of chicken breast. read more
