There was the caveat of cancellation, and needing a bigger window of time in order to avoid late fees (which is good for others to be aware of). I wasn't concerned about this as I scheduled this visit yesterday and had full intention to go in although i can see this being a challenge if it's scheduled out and something comes up. My stylist was Veronica, and she took ample time to ask me about what I wanted, how I liked my look and asked about a lot of nuance to ensure I got the look I wanted. She took her time and was willing to modify when I noticed I wanted it shorter. She was knowledgeable about fine hair, the products and different things likely impacting my hair. I appreciated this. The atmosphere of the salon was sort of bustling, many bodies moving about, a lot of chatter and noise. This isn't unexpected nor was it a bad thing but could be good to note if noise levels are hard for some people. The aesthetic of the salon was airy but chic. I appreciated the decor and the products used were interesting. I'm excited to see if they irritate my scalp (as some do) or if these will be products I'll be able to purchase and begin using regularly!

I get the feeling that the employees are cheerier here than other salons I've been to in the past because they are not standing around all day waiting for a walk-in. The downside is that because they don't have a manager enforcing a schedule, they might have a lighter schedule. The woman I see, for example, is a new mom so she is working two days a week. Great for her and not a problem for me when I'm not procrastinating, which I can't say I'm the best at all the time. The general feeling here is warm and welcome. It's a cute space with local art and they will offer you a warm drink so you are nice and cozy while you are getting your hair done. I'm not the kind of girl that wants a premium, ultra spa like experience when I'm getting my hair cut, so this sort of homey atmosphere is just right for me. I want to come out feeling fresh and pretty and hopefully not broke and Tangles and Co hits all these marks.
