The mattress I tested and chose was not the mattress that was written up by the salesperson, unbeknownst to me. It was delivered and I had to sleep on it, very uncomfortably, for the allotted period of time. This created extra discomfort in my lower back. I called the store and questioned how this mattress I received could possibly be the same mattress I tested in the store, and it was confirmed that I had been sleeping on a completely different mattress!! I don't know if I was lied to or they just do not know and tell you anything to make the sale. I feel cheated. Can no longer recommend this store as a place to shop. We purchased a mattress from City Mattress about 12 years ago. It was a so-called high-end Pranasleep mattress, which was a fair bit of money. About $10,000. And came with a 15-year warranty. Called up City Mattress, and they told us it likely had a little bit of warranty left on the mattress and that we would get some compensation. About $2,300. They then sent out an inspector to look at the mattress. Because a label was missing, and it had a tiny coffee stain, they decided that the warranty was invalid. The huge lump in the middle of the mattress was not caused by a missing label and a tiny coffee stain. And I must admit I am extremely annoyed and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and anybody else I can think of. Nothing more than deceptive, dishonest business practices. And they need to make it right. read more

The initial feeling walking into this store was not welcoming at all. I felt judged on my appearance and a nuisance when I explained that 4k for a mattress was out of my price range. Even though there was absolutely nothing going on in the store, the saleswoman didn't want to give me the time of day and was very dismissive after disclosing my budget. What a great shopping experience I had at this store. Backstory - I have a king bed set and unbeknownst to me, it had a standard (el cheapo) frame that was supporting the mattress and box set. It worked fine for years, but last night, I guess I was a little too overly aggressive (if you know what I mean) and BAM the bed frame broke. I ended up removing the mattress from the frame and slept on the floor. Not knowing exactly what to do, I was driving past City Mattress and decided to stop in and see about a replacement. I was greeted by Carlton Williams and he was super friendly and informative. He showed me a replacement for my exact frame and suggested two different optional upgrades (one had rounded edges and one did not) that were far superior in strength to the one I currently have. I decided to buy the best and strongest bed frame and asked about delivery and he said it would be free for tomorrow. When I asked about same day delivery, he said it is an upcharge and will check the schedule. I left the store at 12:30pm and two delivery men showed up at my house at 2:30pm (exactly two hours since I left the store) and took apart my frame and installed the new super heavy duty frame. The name of the frame is Engage K Knick Hybrid and it was around $200 and is super strong. I was told it can support 1,000 pounds and I don't weight that much, but can give it the old college try tonight if you know what I mean. It's been a while since I purchased a mattress and after visiting a few other stores in the area, I came in to this location based on the reviews. I went to a few of the other big box mattress stores and couldn't believe how pressured I felt to make a decision and buy something right then and there. Even after mentioning to the salesperson that I was just getting educated on this stuff, they were always trying to make me offers that were "only good for today." I was over it. I came into City Mattress around 7pm on a Tuesday and was greeted by Seth. I explained to him what I was looking for and he walked us over to the exact mattress we wanted to see. I asked him to suggest any others that he might recommend and he happily pointed us in the direction of a few others. He wasn't pushy, he didnt oversell, and he gave us time to discuss in private about what we liked and didn't like. I REALLY appreciated his style and felt like the pressure-free environment he created for us, actually made me want to do business with him. I explained to him that we were still looking for a bed at this time, and once we had it picked out, we'd return. All he asked for was our names and good phone number and we were on our way. We came back 2 days later and unfortunately, Seth wasn't in. Instead, we were greeted by Jordan who said he was more than happy to help and that he'd make sure Seth was aware that we came back in. Jordan was personable, patient, and kind as well. He gave us time to try everything out once more so that we could be 100% with our decision. We purchased a mattress with adjustable base that evening and couldn't have been happier. This is the 2nd set of mattresses we have purchased from City Mattress. Could not be happier but $8000.00 poorer. Very attentive sales woman. Two months later I decided I needed a new pillow and noted on line that City Mattress showed over 20 different models. We stopped in at a time when they were not busy and spoke to our saleswoman. I asked to see some pillows and told her I was allergic to latex. Her response was "We only have 2 pillows and they are both hypoallergenic latex. Try Bed Bath and Beyond." Then she walked away. Chapter 4 in my search for a new mattress. This store was fairly small compared to the other furniture stores I've gone to. Probably because they don't sell other furniture. A nice sales lady helped us. She showed us a few mattresses. Several were on sale for Back Friday. One was in the price range we were looking for. Clyde and I tried it and it was comfortable. The only problem was that I had never heard of the manufacturer of that mattress. I wanted to look up the reviews before I bought it. I told the sales lady that I would think about it overnight. I asked for her work schedule because I wanted to purchase the mattress from her when I came back. When I got home I looked up the mattress on the internet. There were a few good reviews, but more bad ones. I read many reviews that said don't buy it, and that the manufacturer doesn't answer their phone, or honor their warranty. Buying a mattress is a big purchase. Not only because of the price, but because it should last for many years. I liked the mattress I saw at City Mattress, but after reading the reviews I decided not to buy it. read more

What an absolute pleasure to deal with! I went in to buy a mattress. Nera helped me. She was very knowledgeable and made the process easy. She explained I could exchange the mattress after 90 days if my husband and I were not pleased. It turned out to be way too soft for us. I went back being skeptical thinking I'd be charged all kinds of delivery fees and exchange fees to get another mattress. Seth helped my husband and me pick out a firmer mattress. These folks are GREAT. I went to buy a mattress and told the store manager that I did not want a pillow top mattress because the one I bought at the store three years ago had developed a hump in the middle. He said that shouldn't happen and checked his computer and found that I had a warranty on my existing mattress. He said that rather than buying a mattress that day he would have a mattress inspector come to my house and see if it was a problem covered by the warranty. They came and spent thirty minutes taking measurements with rulers and a plum bob. They said that the mattress had had a foam core failure. I went back to the store and since Keith wasn't in I spoke with Joel Shore. Joel checked the computer and told me that I was entitled to a credit of the full purchase price of $1,699.00 of my old mattress towards the purchase of a new one. I was blown away. My elderly mother and I had a wonderful experience with our sales representative Mark Cohen, at City Mattress on Glades Road. During our first visit, my mother intended to purchase an adjustable bed. Mark spent a lot of time making measurements and showing my mother a number of mattresses. Even though I was standing there convincing my mother that a hospital bed would better suit her needs, Mark continued to be helpful and gave us his card. After deciding to buy a hospital bed, we returned several times to decide upon an appropriate mattress. Mark continued to be patient and helpful and suggested that my mother should obtain a medical note so her purchase would be tax exempt. Since we did not have a shipping date for the bed, Mark let us know that we could request shipping at any time. I called City Mattress on a day that Mark was unavailable and requested the shipment. On the day of shipment, Mark had reviewed his orders and noticed that the mattress would not arrive during the promised window. Knowing that my mother is elderly and needs her mattress, and I am a Sabbath observer and could not accept deliver on Saturday (which was the following day), Mark immediately resolved the problem. Not long after our conversation, I recieved a call that the mattress would arrive on time. Mark Cohen has been a sales representative that showed much more concern for his customer than obtaining a quick sale. I purchased a high end adjustable Prana Sleep mattress but it wasn't quite right, a bit on the soft side for my taste. Dishonest and Deceitful Purchased a $6k mattress that was represented to have a full replacement warranty, which was a key factor in our decision to purchase a Prana mattress. After just a few years of use the mattress became deeply compressed in sleeping areas and has lost all the "sleep benefits" that the company claims. All warranty claim attempts were declined by City Mattress as (according to City Mattress) the issues we experienced did not meet the warranty matrix. Warning to all: DO NOT BUY A MATRESS FROM CITY MATRESS AS THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DECEIPTFULL AT BEST. As a member on many organizations and boards I will be sure to spread the word. read more

Upon entering we were greeted with a smile from a very nice sales lady who really knew what she was talking about.After giving us some cold water in a sealed bottle we looked at their lines and then some others.
