It's important to note that a large number of nail salons employ their nail techs under false pretenses and typically under minimum wages, creating a deplorable and inhumane industry. With that said, I am most comfortable coming here knowing that this is a legitimate and family operated business, therefore I know exactly who is receiving my money for the services they directly render to me. I only get spa pedicures so I can only speak upon that, and I always get attentive care. The salon itself is well maintained, clean and pleasant. No super fancy frills which I personally don't need or care about. They always demonstrate sanitary practices by using new plastic liners in the foot baths and instruments for each customer and wearing gloves. I also really like that they offer organic polishes that feature less damaging chemicals in a rainbow of colors. Everyone has their days and there were a couple moments where I wasn't 100% ecstatic about the work. But I've returned to have some things fixed like bumpy nail polish and they've been completely nice and accommodating about it. It always helps if you walk in asking with a good attitude versus an entitled one. read more

Jeff did my holiday manicure. I got SNS dip nails with gel color. I showed him a picture of the colors I wanted and he executes it exactly! He was really nice and very gentle - he checked in with me during every step of the process to make sure he wasn't hurting me which I really appreciate after having left other salons with bloody cuticles or sore nail beds. YAY! I found a nail salon that doesn't gross me out or make me want to smack someone! WOOHOO!!!! Price is very reasonable. I paid $15 for a pedicure in the massage chair. My pedicurist took her time so it means I got to relax and enjoy the back rub :-) They also carry OPI brand nail polish (which I love) so that made me even happier. They don't have thousands of colors like everywhere else, but I found this to be good since I didn't have to decide between two almost identical shades of pink ;-) There was no language barrier, she understood what I wanted and was very kind about it. She was gentle and gave me a good leg rub at the end of my treatment, not that 2 second foot jiggle thing they usually do. There is tons of parking all over the place, both street and in a private lot in the back. I can only assume it may be a bit harder to find parking on the weekends when the entire area is more busy, but I went on a Friday night, not many people in there, and ample parking. An added bonus: THEY ARE CLEAN!!!! They use mini packs of fresh equipment, like nail buffers, the little stick they clean under your fingers with and a mini disposable nail file! GENIUS! They also have a sterilizing machine they pulled the cuticle trimmers from! All in all, I have a new favorite nail spot. I'm 100% going back to this place! read more

This place is great! Thankfully, language is not a barrier, at this nail and waxing spot :) The gals (and guys) who work here are super fast, clean, and experienced. I am very pleased with the results of my mani/pedi and brow wax. My nail tech cleaned up all my cuticle/dead skin nastiness in such a fast and efficient manner, I couldn't believe the results! Oh, and the massage chairs have shiatsu massage balls that you CAN FEEL! There;s nothing worse than a tease of a spa pedicure chair! haha :) My back feels great! The $15 spa pedicures are reasonable considering you get all the basic necessities--massage chair, US Weekly, OPI nail polish, and thorough service. +1 because I never heard them talk crap about other customers in Vietnamese. Decent manicure. Sweet nail tech. Clean location. $17 for gel removal and regular mani The nail tech was super sweet! The manicure itself however was okay: I feel like my nails should have been filed around the corners more to avoid them snagging on everything and being blade sharp. Also, more of my cuticle and nail bed should have been removed. Standard massage, but with regular (not heated) lotion. The polish job is great though! I normally do gel manis but did a regular one this time since I know I'll need a fresh gel mani in about a week. Normally a regular mani chips within days for me, but this one is going strong!! Also, I'm really grateful for the 3rd coat of polish she did before the top coat. They seem to have a great gel and regular polish collection comprised of OPI and Essie. I have gone to City Nails only one time so far so this is based on only one visit. I usually do my own mani/pedi and go to get them done once in a while when I feel like I need a professional clean up. Well, a week ago I cut my nails in a very bad way and I left a piece of nail on the side. Anyways, woke up with a red/irritated toe. I decided to walk down to City Nails during my lunch break and get a mani/pedi and hopefully they could fix up my situation. My manicure was done really well and the lady doing my nails took her time which I appreciated even though I was going to be a little late, but I'd rather have my money's worth. The woman doing my pedicure took out little piece of nail that made my entire toe so red and sore. I paid I think 18 bucks without tip for a spa pedicure and manicure. The place is not super fancy and kind of looks like a hole in the wall, but everything is clean and they use sterilized equipment. It's not crowded and lots of people shouting and talking over one another like Nails for you, even though I like Nails for you, I get so frustrated when I go because it's always jam packed. I haven't tried any of their acrylics or gel but judging with how much time and effort the woman doing my nails put in, I'd say they'd be good at those as well. I came here 2 days ago to get my nails filled in. I am really happy when it come to their customer service.One of the guy who works there did my nails and I like how he takes his time when it comes to buffing my nails and so on, and he also made sure that I am happy with the outcome.[where else can you find that ? cause now a days they would rush their job and you end up paying 30 bucks and you don't even like it. ya know what I mean haha ].They do sometimes give you free coffee or water which is really sweet of them. I've been in search of a new nail place for over a year now. I used to go to Best Nails because my old nail lady Nancy worked there, unfortunately, last time I tried going there, Nancy wasn't there anymore, thus the reason why I went on a hunt for a new spot. I Yelp'd & I Yelp'd & I Yelp'd... ...Finally, I decided to give City Nails a try. It's two blocks down from work & from other reviews, it says they're pretty cheap. So off I went, wasn't expecting much, but guess what? They did a great job! Mind you, I don't care too much about the whole she-bang of the designs and all, I usually go by with how thorough they clean the cuticles and dead skin off my hands & feet & they did not disappoint. They were quick & efficient. All in all, it's a nice little place that's worth checking out. Very good service, nice pedicure. I like the gel manicure that lasts two weeks. The staff are all very sweet, do a good job. It seems with most salons I've tried in this area I have to ask several times for the corners to be filed, as there is a trend for pointy square nails, which look weird on me, and I've got to be diligent to ensure the nails are short on toes. The most important thing to me when it comes to salons is cleanliness ! This place is clean, and all the tools they used on me were right out of a bag =) Second most important thing is the manner in which I am being treated, and I felt completely welcomed. The lady who did my pedicure took her time, messaged my feet and made sure I was comfortable. She even made sure I was absolutely happy with the color I chose. She didn't let me move unless I allowed her to help me put my sandals back on, and out of the chair. I felt absolutely pampered ! I don't have one bad thing to say about this place and my nails usually last about 3 weeks with them sometimes 3 and a half depending how much work I'm doing .. whereas with other salons it takes about 2 weeks and I'll already have cracked or lost a nail. Overall, this place is great. When I first moved to the neighborhood I was pretty sad that I couldn't make it to my old salon anymore. That is, until I found this place. The staff is pretty welcoming and they do a good job for a very affordable price. Mani/Pedi for $25, i'll take it! The salon is clean and comfortable with a good selection of colors. The only reason I'm docking them a star is their eyebrow waxing service, its not the best. If you need a touch up then it gets the job done. Its best to go on off hours and even if there is a wait its never too long. My nails have always looked amazing and I can say that I've found my local nail shop. So my friend and I usually go to nails spa inc down the street from this place. We only tried out this place because we didn't have an appointment and they couldn't take us. We decided to try this place. The place is dirty. The lady who did my nails was rushing the whole thing, didn't shape my nails right, she painted them all lazy and weird. The only thing that was decent was they do give you a bottle of water. The prices also seem high specially compared to the amazing designs that I'm used to getting.
