Been going to this place for YEARS. Amy and Christine are AWESOME. Nails always look so natural. Hard to get a spot on their schedules though so plan ahead. My mother has been a faithful customer of Christine's for about 15 years. I used to go to Christine as well, but was on hiatus for a while. When I returned, my girl Amy took over the show for my nails. She and I always have a great time while she does my nails, and I appreciate that she will take the time to do crazy designs and not charge me an arm and a leg for them. She ALWAYS takes great care of me, and will do my fingers and my toes if I plan well enough in advance. I swear I love her for that. Pauline is the pedicure queen, and if it was not for her busy schedule, I would try to see her more often. The others are hit or miss to be honest. This shop does not have all the latest and greatest products, but they do have some awesome techs that care about the QUALITY of their work - that is rare nowadays. read more

I used to go to this salon before the pandemic and get gel nails every before I go on vacation and had only positive reviews of this place. This time around, I am very disappointed in their service. To the point, that I am on my vacation currently a week after I got my gel manicure that is really peeling off at the accelerated pace and I am writing this review. The whole point of getting gel manicure is to not have to worry about your nails for at least week. Literally, two days after I got it, the nail Polish started peeling off. They are nice and do a good job but they will overcharge you. Unfortunately I won't be going back because they charged me $95 for a pedicure & a fill. The price board says $30 for a pedicure & $30 for a fill. She charged my fill as a full set because she "had to add some thickness to the ends" (no gluing or anything just after drilling off the old polish/acrylic from they ends they needed a tiny bit of acrylic there in order to not be brittle) I was pretty annoyed. There are definitely nicer salons you can go to if you want to be charged that much. Don't go somewhere where they take advantage of their clients. read more

This salon has a lot of loyal customers, including myself, who no matter how many fancy places with champagne bar open up around here, will always come to the same technicians here who's work is consistently good! We moved out of Glendale two years ago and I tried other places which were closer to me but none of them do the same job as Quincy's team here. They all do clean and detailed job and will always accommodate you even on their busiest days and hours. My only complaint/suggestion is about this place's cleanliness! I always see the owner's husband would sit at front desk all the time doing nothing, literally nothing so why he cannot just clean around more often and remove the dust that is covered almost everywhere, especially during slow hours! read more

Sadly, I've had to remove my positive review. Been coming here for a couple of months and have been overall happy. I'm constantly having to wait on other clients to finish. I understand from time to time the appointments run a few minutes behind but today was the last straw. I walked in for my appointment and the owner sits down next to me and says do you have an errand to run because another client came in late and we can't start until 45 minutes. Really? I'm a loyal customer, tip well, and arrive on time always. To be penalized because another client is late makes no sense. Not smart business and sadly I'll be taking mine elsewhere. I've been driving by Polish for quite some time and decided to pop in and see what they had to offer after my last visit to Skaf's (which is in the same center). I met the owner Quincy and was immediatley sold. She's such a sweet and attentive person. This morning I went in for my IPL Photofacial. The price was lower than any other place I have looked into and she threw in a free facial with the deal, making it a steal. We talked about all sorts of things while she did both the facial and the IPL, but it was never that kind of "fill the void" chit chat that you sometimes get when having your nails done or your hair cut. She seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say and even sent me home with a anime poster after learning my daughter was a fan. In fact, she told me to stop buy tomorrow and she would bring in some additional goodies for my kiddo. The offer a full service of treatments and she told me that there is a Chinese gentlemen that comes in every day at 5:00 pm to do accupressure. I'll have to look into that. After the treatment I could see visible tightness (in the good way) in my skin and I'm anxious to see further results as time progresses. Can't wait to go back again. read more

Linda L., my friend, I'm thinking that something went downhill with Polish Beauty Bar since you last reviewed them in October of '07. I had my first (maybe my last) visit to Polish last weekend. The place was really busy with a constant stream of customers, so it looked promising. It wasn't a completely unpleasant experience, but it was full of enough negatives for me not to want to come back. First turn-off, The Cleanliness - the place looks kind of rundown and the floors were dirty. Second - The Hygiene - Although they adamantly state in their brochures that they are committed to superior hygiene by sterilizing all of their implements and sanitizing each foot-bowl, I happened to notice a few slip-ups that (thankfully) my nail tech didn't commit. a.) Pulling implements and nailcutters out of a ziploc baggie does not mean it was sterilized. b.) Another woman's pedicure began and they did not clean out her foot bowl after the previous customer. (yuck) Third - The Technique - My nail tech was vigorously trying to soften my callus that she knicked the top of my foot with the file. I didn't think it broke any skin at the time, but the next day I noticed I had a scab where it happened. Ugh! Besides this they did a good job cleaning up my cuticles and painting nails. Fourth - The Transaction - When I made my appointment, I specifically wanted their most "involved" manicure and pedicure. I got the pedicure I wanted, but they only gave me the most basic manicure. When I went to go pay for my services, they tried charging me for the expensive version. I had to go through the whole explanation that I didn't get what I ordered. Came here with a friend and "cheated" on my usual spot just because this was closer to her house. They were very friendly upon entering. The place is a bit unorganized as their nail polish is not displayed out in the open and they dont have a good selection of colors. TIP: Take in your own color if you have a favorite. They did a nice job and I cant complain. My friend loves the wax they use when they wax her arms as it doesnt make her break out at all. This place is fine if youre in a hurry but dont come looking for a "spa like" atmosphere. Its been four days and so far the polish is firmly intact. read more

They did not have a wide selection of colors, and each bottle I picked was almost dried up, where thinning it wasn't helping. Go figure. I end up here frequently, not because it's the best mani-pedi around but because its not horribly priced and most importantly because they will always squeeze me into their schedule and they do my nails faster than a lot of places. Faster definitely doesn't not equate to better, my usual nail tech in Toluca Lake takes her time and makes my nails perfect but sometimes I don't have time for that so I come here. We drive by and see the grand opening banner and my hubby goes, "Look! They are opening a Polish bar". I correct him and say, no, it's "polish" like nail polish, not "Polish" like person from Poland. We debate over who is correct, so I went there today to get a mani/pedi to prove him wrong. The place took over the space formerly occupied by a flower/gift shop (which, I never was quite sure how they stayed in business). It's only JUST barely opened (literally like yesterday) so I will definitely cut them some slack on the sparse decor, and some unfinished aspects of the place. The owner Quincy, however, was a sweet as pie and super welcoming and accommodating. Although sparse, it's very clean andy you can't help but want to get your nails done here to support her business. No spa chairs here, but a straight up mani/pedi only set me back $25. And the best part is, she's hired two masseuses who will give 40-minute reflexology foot massages for just $20. Been coming here for the past year and a half, I have cheated twice or thrice lol to try something different but I always end up back here. The place is clean, they just remodeled the women's pedi section with new chairs but I'm not super fond of them mainly because I'm petite and I don't enjoy the full effect of the massage chair. Not their fault I'm petite anyway. Love that Quincy the owner knows her clients and I only use her for my gel manicures, she's gone out of her way to MAKE a color for me, yes I said MAKE and its genius! Hence the reason I always come back. The pedi girls are all good I've never had a complaint about them. Only reason I didn't give a 5th star was because on the weekends when busy even with an appt they run behind, other than that I love this place! read more

Let me just start off by saying I'm being very generous with two stars. I was recommended to this place by a friend as I loved how her gel manicure looked recently. I got to the salon on time only to find that the lady I had booked my appt with was taking her sweet time putting on acrylics on the girl before me. Clearly, not something that was going to be completed in 10-15 min. When I finally sat down 30-40 min later, I was fuming, but I was given a very sincere apology and calmed down. Now, with that being said, my pedicure was given to someone who had NO idea what she was doing. She cut me multiple times after she slathered baby oil all over my toes to start cleaning my cuticles. On top of that, she didnt understand the concept of coloring inside the lines. Finally, I was so frustrated that I had to ask my manicurist (Mindy) to come back and finish the pedicure. Great - I'm on my way out when I'm greeted at the exited by the pedicure lady (not Mindy) trying to remove the paper toe separates from my feet when of course she smears my fresh nail polish across my feet. There may have been actual fumes coming out of my ears this point as I had to sit back down and have Mindy redo my pedicure. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because I liked Mindy. Other than that, don't hire people who are incapable of doing their job and do NOT make your customers wait 30+ min. It's rude and disrespectful and shows how much you (don't) value their business. read more

I've been here several times before and have had great experiences in the past. When I came recently I had asked one of the nail technicians how long was the wait, she said 5-15 minutes so I sat down with my friend and waited. A couple minutes after, a man who worked there came up to us and asked me if I had an appointment and We responded no. He said okay it's going to be about 30 minutes or longer. (Which We would have waited for). My friend said we were told 5 minutes?, but he responded with "you should have asked me, she doesn't know. You are supposed to ask me. If you don't want to wait then get out." As customers we contribute to their business, a more respectful response we would have waited. But since we were told to get out, I won't be coming back. read more

This place has been open down the street from my house for a couple of months so the other day when I decided I wanted a pedicure I thought I'd walk down. The pedicure itself was very well done and the polish is still going strong. The price was reasonable and the people were extremely friendly. As far as the interior I felt there were a lot of missed opportunities to make the place look more professional. They had lovely massage chairs and new equipment but there was a lot of clutter all over everything and the furniture layout wasn't particularly well-thought-out. When I went to pay there were several large boxes in front of the counter and it was difficult to do the transaction while leaning over them. Also when the lady went to run my card she had to take it behind the manicure station where the terminal was located. I wondered why they didn't just switch the location of the counter and the manicure station. I will probably go back because the work was good and the people were friendly, but the clutter made me feel like I was in a stranger's living room. read more
