Melanie is a perfectionist. I've been going to her for about a year for gel pedicures (usually white polish--she's a perfectionist, so I trust her with white against my tan skin). I have no idea how this place has 4.5 stars. My only guess is that people come in for pedicures and manicures and not acrylics because she did the worst job with my acrylics that I have ever seen. I came in for acrylic nails with an almond shape. I asked her twice if she had experience shaping almond nails (once on the phone, once in person) and each time acted like I had offended her with my question. I made an appointment three days in advance but she still made me wait 20 minutes while she finished up on another person's pedicure. I was not offered any water or coffee. When she finally got to my nails, she absolutely destroyed them with the Dremel tool. You can see how much she tore up my nail beds and cuticles in the pictures. She also filed the edges of my nails for some reason (probably because she had no idea how to shape almond nails) which tore up my fingers some more. I was bleeding in two places with one finger really badly cut (see picture). All of my nails were different lengths and different shapes. I mean, it's so bad that my boyfriend even noticed. And the paint job is terrible. The edges are all crooked and uneven. I went online to buy the exact polish she used so I can re-do them at home, that's how bad it is. Oh, and one nail literally has my blood in the polish because when she put on the top coat she dragged my coagulated blood into the polish (see picture, middle finger). During the manicure she frequently stopped to answer her personal cell phone and would stop to watch the Clippers game. It's by far the worst experience and worst looking nails I've ever had and I've gone to beauty schools to get my nails done before. I wish I hadn't paid for them but my fingers were hurting so bad and I was so mad I just had to get out of here. If you can go anywhere else for your nails, do. It's going to take me at least three weeks to grow them out so someone can fix them. I'm so angry about the whole thing. read more

I'm doing a review strictly for Tracy because I'm a loyal customer of hers and I will follow her everywhere she goes... And also the price is right at this location! I came in on a Friday with an APPT because I know Tracy is always busy with her customers. The place looks clean, I met the owner, and customers were raving about Tracy. I was offered donuts by the owner :) There's a parking lot, there's TV inside, and it looks kinda of busy in the little plaza because of the restaurant kabob way. I'm marking 1 star off because I think this place needs one more worker aside from Tracy and the owner. People will leave if they have to wait too long. I wish I could give less than one star. I am still in pain from my pedicure. I came in to get a gel pedicure because I always go to the Cell Phone repair shop next door. I should have known it was not a good place when I went in and it was completely empty. I left almost in tears and she called me stupid after I walked out the door. She cut me so many times and kept spraying alcohol every time. My nail beds are SO SO SO SORE. I am in pain. She was on her cell phone for a lot of the time (I should have said something. but I was in shock and didn't know what to do). While on her cellphone she slipped while filing my nails with an electric filer and her friend who was standing next to her GASPED because she was so sure that she had cut through my skin. Her response "You're okay!" She messed up my gel nails twice. The first time she blamed me. She said I had touched my nail to the machine because it was bubbly and gross. She took it off and did it again. The second time she said maybe there was a problem with my nail bed because it had never happened to her. THAT'S A LIE. AFTER READING THESE REVIEWS I KNOW THAT IS A LIE. She was trying to Gaslight me. I told her to just stop. She never finished my manicure. Now I have 9 yellow gel toes and one big toe with no nail polish on it because it hurt so bad. I told her I would pay for a regular manicure, but there was no way I was paying for a gel. She got mad and told me to just leave and that I didn't have to pay anything at all. The entire time she's trying to blame me. I told her she ruined my afternoon and that it was the most painful experience I've ever had getting my nails done. DO NOT GO HERE. I wasted like an hour and a half of my time (it would have been longer if I let her keep working) on what should have taken like 30 minutes. Please avoid! Maybe it is a front to some kind of illegal activity because I have no idea how she pays rent and stays open. Are there any cops out there? Look into it. read more

She wrote: "Excuse me ma'am but I was at the salon at 9:30 and you didn't even leave your vehicle because I wasn't a Asian nail technician you just drove off, even my next door business owner noticed and asked me about it. Melanie is an amazing, wonderful, and patient owner. I've been going to her for about a year now. When I first started getting my nails done in Glendale I tried a couple locations but they just weren't satisfying. Not only is she great as a nail tech but very welcoming and accommodating to you as her customer. Also, all her customers have been going to her for years. I love being able to catch up with her about things going on with me rather than having an awkward hour of no talking at other salons. She also has a wide variety of nail color to gel and acrylic! The location of the salon is next to Roosevelt middle school so it isn't too hard to miss. And once you're in the salon it's very clean and presentable. On top of that, she's very sanitary herself. I don't live in Glendale so I used Yelp to find a nail salon to get gel mani and regular pedi. Based on the reviews, I called this place and asked for their prices and if walk ins were welcomed. The lady on the phone said they have a special for $30, for the services I wanted and YES, walk ins are welcomed. I get to this place, walk in, the lady wearing a plaid red shirt with brassy looking hair, looks at me up and down and she says "yes?" I tell her, "I just called and I want gel mani and pedi" She looks at her phone, looks up at me and says "Not now. I'm busy". THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE SALON (except for a little girl sitting by the door). Wow! Super rude and unprofessional. I'm a nurse, who works with ALOT of women who get their nails done. Melania is a perfectionist, which makes it much more satisfying to know that your fingers and toes are in great hands. However 1 complaint is that my cousin and i made an appointment for like 10:30, got there early and they weren't even open (even though they're supposed to be open at 9AM). I called the number at 10:25 to see what happened and she said she was on her way. We didn't get started until almost 11AM and we had to miss our following appointments because this one started late. So I had seen a special add that's why I wanted to come, too bad I showed up a week after and the promotion was over. Sucked for me, but I was already there and did not want to drive elsewhere so I decide it to try anyways. To my surprise, I walk in and its two Armenian ladies, awkward because not to be racist, but majority of nail salons are run by Vietnamese/ Asians etc you get the point. Then on the other hand it is Glendale so why be surprised it was Armenian. Both ladies where extremely nice and the one who did my mani and pedi did a very good job, honestly a lot better than I expected. They have the best customer service ever and I liked that they were not pushy to get this and that done like a lot of places the manicurist will be you want this $5 more, you need this $5 more thanks for asking but sometimes its annoying.
