Stopped by city perks coffee to enjoy some drinks with friends. Unfortunately, the coffee and cocktails tasted horrible. The matcha latte was a pre-made matcha syrup that they combine with milk. You could not taste the matcha whatsoever. It was just a cup of milk that had a green tint. The coffees all tasted like just milk and were all overly sweet. The cocktails were slightly better but had little to no alcohol in them. They tasted more like a refresher than a cocktail. Extremely overpriced for very poor quality drinks. This was the WORST coffee shop we've ever been to. Save your money and don't go here!!! read more

Racist. I have never used the "race card", but after my experience at City Perks Coffee in St. Augustine I truly felt discriminated against. I grew up in NE Florida and whenever family come to visit I always take them to St. Augustine because of its beautiful history and charm. My family and I decided to grab a coffee after a hectic drive into the city. When we walked into City Perks I was impressed by the beautiful decor and relaxing atmosphere. My family ordered two beers, an Americano and I ordered a Chai Latte. We sat at a table near the back in front of the wine bar. Immediately I got a sense of discomfort from the elderly woman with wavy black hair standing behind the counter. I didn't think much of it. When I got my Chai unfortunately it tasted like lukewarm water. I wasn't going to return it because I don't like to hassle people, but my fiancée insisted I exchange it for something else. When I went up to the counter I explained to the barista that my chai tasted like water and asked if I could get a glass of wine instead and I that I would pay the difference. He then took my cup of chai and told me to see the lady in the back by the wine bar for a glass of wine and that there would be no price difference. So that's what I did. When I approached the lady behind the wine bar I explained to her what the barista told me and her immediate response was "really, coffee that doesn't taste good" and then proceeded to talk down to me saying " do you not understand, this is like you buying something from target and trying to return it to wal-mart". I was mortified. I was only trying exchange my watery chai for a glass of wine, doing what the barista told me to. The lady then told me she needed to go speak to the manager. At this point, another barista came up to me and I explained that I just wanted a glass of wine and would do what was needed to get that. He told me all he could do was give me a refund. He also kept making comments about "how could a chai taste bad". For a moment I stood there speechless from the treatment I was getting and gave up. I got a refund and sat back down. The best part was, I watched the baristas take the chai to the back counter to taste it and one of the baristas stuck his tongue out with a disgust look on his face. As for the wine bar lady, she needs to treat ALL people with respect regardless of your skin color. Because after everything happened a Caucasian lady came up to the bar and the wine bar lady was incredibly nice to her. It's 2019, you have an establishment in one of the countries top tourist destinations. Treat people with respect. So if you are Indian, Spanish, African American, Chinese, Filipino, anything but Caucasian I recommend that you avoid City Perks Coffee. read more

Super cute cafe with great coffee and a nice selection of pastries. They do have a GF muffin in the cooler - an Udi's Blueberry which is decent for a light snack or starter. Coffee is served in to go paper and plastic cups. They also have coolers with a variety of other drinks. No restrooms on site. The public restrooms are around the corner on St. George Street. read more

Very friendly! Love the music. Seems like all the other coffee shops were playing New Age music, which is great, but City Perks was playing jazzy, bluesy, classic songs, which we love! And a Reese's cookie to boot!!!! Best coffee experience so far. read more

The typical coffee house. Pleasant atmosphere with slightly overpriced but not bad coffee. Big problem! They would not allow me to use either of the bathrooms! I am a 60 year old disabled lady and let's face it, coffee is a diuretic. I was told to go outside and 5 doors down while standing in front of the bathroom doors! Of course they have bathrooms! Are you kidding me? The doors are marked private or similarly. I will never return. How embarrassing it was that I brought my guests here. I would have liked to leave a better review but this is important for customers to know. Yes they have food and yes they have tables to sit down also. read more

This was good coffee, great location, and very cool vibe inside. The service was okay but could have been more friendly. We sat outside by the fire in November and the fire was cut off within 5 minutes of sitting down. So that sucked but the coffee and food were very good. read more

Get the iced caramel latte!!!! Best iced latte I've had in a long time! My boyfriend and I are extremely picky about our coffee and when we are traveling we miss our espresso machine. This place exceeded our expectations!!!!! Even better, the service was exceptional. When we walked in we were hit in the face with the smell of fresh baked blueberry scones. So we ordered one and it wasn't very warm or fresh but I still dug in. A few moments later one of the baristas rushed over with a piping hot and fresh blueberry scone apologizing because she gave us a not so fresh one. Totally unnecessary but very much appreciated by my boyfriend and I as we scarfed down our second and much fresher blueberry scone. Great place to relax amidst the hustle and bustle of the holiday crowds. Had a vanilla latte with a shot of amaretto, and my wife enjoyed a hot chocolate with Irish cream. Perfect for a cool December night! Very friendly staff, and the drinks were delicious! read more

Good Frappe. I had the mocha. Tasted a little less heavy than other Frappe's I've had. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. They allow you to sample their different offerings which is a plus. The only thing from getting them to 5 stars in my opinion is the paper straws. They do not offer plastic straws any longer and the paper straws change the taste of your drink plus the straw breaks down well before you are finished with your drink. Ask for a spare straw upon receiving your drink. read more

Walking in we were a little confused by the set up. Coffee in one section, beer in another wine and cocktails in another. After figuring it out, we ordered a beer and a couple drinks amongst our group. Something about the the cocktails, none of us really liked. We ordered a raspberry margarita and it was very very sour. The location is beautiful however, I felt very unwelcomed by Deb who is in charge of the wine department. Before uttering a word, she gave me ill face gestures and made me feel very uncomfortable along with my family. I walked in when she was not at the moment with physical customers to ask how wine tastings were and told me she could not assist me and go to her assistant. I had seen her give wine tastings to her previous customer however refused to assist me in explaining/answering questions about her selection of wines because she didn't have time however at the moment she had no customers infront of her. Simply delicious !! My friend and both got lattes and had a seat next to a window which had a view of the fort. The environment was very comfortable and the staff was super friendly ! They have wine and cigars around the corner, the staff as a whole as very knowledgeable and welcoming. My only complaint would be about the lack of seating in total. There was only 3-4 tables to sit in the coffee section. It would be nice to see more. Nevertheless, we will be back ! read more

Made a quick stop there this afternoon and tried their iced latte. I was quite satisfied! The latte was smooth yet rich in flavor, even when served iced which is what I wanted because I was walking and it was a bit warm outside. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I noticed while there that when a couple left the store after finishing their coffee, the staff made sure to say "thank you" and "have a nice day" as they exited which I thought was a nice sign since patrons like to be acknowledged when entering as well as when leaving, after they have made their purchase. This place was really cute! I had never been before, but I have been to other coffee shops which helped me navigate my way through the ordering process. Of course you walk in and order at the counter and once you get your coffee, you go to a little station to put any sugar in your drinks. I'm not sure about any food, I only ordered coffee for my group. There were three girls there, all were nice for the most part. I wouldn't say it was exceptional service, because they were busy talking and it looked like I had interrupted them. I went in right around opening time which I know is annoying, but a little courtesy like "thank you so much, don't forget we have sugar to the left if you want. have a great day!" could go a long way. read more

So we happened to sit down at the tables out back of City Perks to enjoy some time with a friend and allow our 4 yr old to run around. We decided to walk in for a beer and a espresso. This place is amazing. With regards to beer, the selection isn't huge but they have bottled and canned basics but they also have 4 craft beers on tap which is great. I also got a double espresso which was the best espresso I have had since I was in Venice enjoying one at St Marks Square. On my next trip in I grabbed another craft beer and a black and white cookie for my son. He destroyed it and my friend who was with us ate the rest and indicated it was delicious. On the third trip in I got another craft beer and a frozen margarita and frozen daiquiri for my friend. Both were slightly sugary (as most premixed frozen beverages are) but they were the perfect consistency and delicious. I asked about their wine options and they were more then adequate although I didn't have any. My wife and I will definitely be visiting this establishment again and our friend (who is local) will be stopping in sooner. read more

We simply can't say enough wonderful things about City Perks Coffee! Upon entering the shop the cozy decor offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The efficient and friendly staff made us feel at home and treated us like family, and the owner went out of her way to personally welcome us. The latte's were shear perfection! The most difficult part of visiting City Perks was deciding which patio to sit on. The front patio has breathtaking views of the historic landmark, Castillo de San Marcos (The Fort), while the back patio is perched at the entrance to Saint George St. which is packed with amazing shops and restaurants. If coffee isn't your thing City Perks is also has a well stocked wine bar, and a cigar shop. As with many places in Saint Augustine, City Perks is dog friendly and our pup enjoyed the visit just as much as we did! Overall it was a fantastic experience and we look forward to visiting again and again. Thank you City Perks for making our day! read more
