We had been walking all over the city for 4 hours - almost nonstop. The kids were starting to hit a wall, getting overtired and batty/delirious. My husband's friend said he knew a pizza place nearby to grab a slice. Pick what you want and they heat it in the oven if you're dining in. They have coolers with a variety of drinks but no ice is available just an fyi. The slices are big and perfection. The sauce is delicious and full of flavor. Stopped in for a quick bite before a late movie. Was shocked at the quality of the pizza -- delicious crisp crust, ample cheese, and well seasoned-sauce. Come in late enough and the cheese slices are $2 apiece, a total steal. Restaurant is clean inside and bathroom was pretty darn acceptable for center city. Counter lady was plenty friendly. City Pizza is conveniently located in Old City on 3rd Street near CVS. The staff is really nice. Their pizza slices are super affordable, at about $3/slice. I opt for the Margherita almost every time. They also have delicious cookies and a fridge full of affordable bevvies (think Jarritos and $1 bottles of water...hard to find that kind of deal in Old City). If you're a local or a tourist looking for a quick bite under $10/person, def stop in for some City Pizza. Their Sicilian slices are top tier but truly you can't go wrong with any topping pizza either! Full disclosure I haven't tried their sandwiches and other goodies because the pizza is just so good esp with their unbeatable prices- 2 dollars for a regular 3 for a topping (usually)! I love that it's a locally run business with friendly quick service. We stopped here for a quick bite but regretted it. We ordered a cheese pizza and waffle fries. To this date I cannot figure out, what the pizza was. Is this how phila style pizza is? With sauce splattered All over the pizza and cheese that looks like it has been scraped off?? So disappointing. The pizza looks like a crayon/coloring photo of a pre K elementary or younger kiddo that's starting to learn how to draw and color. The pizza itself had no taste whatsoever. The fries were listed as "waffle fries on menu@. I'm thinking it would be something like chick fil-a but these were what we call crinkle fries. They Probably came off a bagged bag as I could still taste the freezer burn taste that lingers onto food. Plus they were put in the oven, so weren't properly fried but rather baked. I decided to try the slices here for lunch on a work from home day. This place is now known as Olde City Pizza, not to be confused with the other pizza spot nearby with a similar name. I kept it simple, ordering two slices of pepperoni pizza. The slices were big with plenty of pepperoni. I was pleasantly surprised when I lifted up a slice to see that the crust had no flop. The crust is firm and crispy. The pizza tastes very good but not quite at the level of the very best pizza. But for a quick slice of pizza, it's as good as it gets in Old City. read more

Had a good experience then had a poor experience. Food was good. Prices are cheap. The poor experience: ordered food at 1pm. I asked for Margherita pizza and chicken fingers from the menu. The woman on the phone said, "chicken cheesesteak?" I said no, chicken fingers. She said there were none, but then allowed me to order up to 10 when I said I have the menu from their store in front of me. (Menu says says it comes in one size: 3 with a sauce). I asked for honey mustard sauce. She said "mustard?" I said no, honey mustard. Anyway, I have someone go pick it up for me 25 minutes later. When she gets there I get messaged that and the woman at Pizzarama was being rude and said "we don't have chicken fingers" and "we don't have whole pizzas, only by slice." So, they didn't bother to make the order or tell me it was canceled. I don't understand. read more

There is an advertised special, two slices of any pie and a drink for $10. The only thing special about it is nothing. That seems like a regular price for this pizza. Everything about it is best defined as, nothing special. The specialty pie was pretty good, almost four stars, but the vegetable slice right next to BBQ Chicken, and there was spillover that spoiled it. I can't fathom who thought that was a good idea. The restaurant is not overall well kept, but you won't starve is my best summary. Apparently, you shouldn't confuse this is Old City Pizza as there is some drama surrounding it. read more

We were staying in the building next door to City Pizza. The service was fast and friendly. The food was good. Loved the chew of the crust. We ordered a medium pie which easily made 4 servings and a Caesar salad. There was seating inside as well as bistro tables outside. read more

Yet another store that posts their hours then does not honor them. Their front door hours say 11am to 11pm yet they closed this afternoon until 5pm. This was the problem with the previous place that occupied the spot. Small business' should post hours and make sure they are open for all of them. There is no quicker way to put yourself out of business then to post hours then be closed. Customers will not keep coming back to be disappointed. You walk three blocks to get a slice only to find the operators are too lazy or unorganized to open for their regular hours. Why would I come back? There is no legitimate excuse for them to be randomly closed during posted business hours. Do you know how businesses put up the first dollar they earn on the wall?
