My car was pulling towards the right so i went in for a front end diagnostic to see what was wrong and I was told I needed a front strut new tires and a front end Alignment for $1200 I agreed they kept the car for 2 full days on day 3 I was called and told the car was ready for pick up when I picked it up I noticed the car was then pulling to the left and felt like some parts were Loose under the car and also noticed some green gunk so I told them the problems they said to drop it off next week I did then I got a call the next day after I dropped it off that it was ready for pick up again I got in the car drove down the street and it felt as if it wasn't even touched I contacted them again and they suggested "you may have to get more parts" why would I need more parts if when I got a full diagnosis on the car you guys said I only needed a front strut, four new tires and an alignment? I felt as if I was definitely overcharged and would not recommend ANYONE to do business with this company! read more

Went to get an alignment after putting new steering components and asked if they could also make sure everything look good and was tight. After the alignment they said everything looked good and they checked everything. After driving my truck I had double the play in my steering wheel I came in with and the alignment was still off. A couple days later my tie rod disconnected from my pitman arm causing me to hit a concrete barrier. Took it to another alignment shop and they did an amazing job for a couple more dollars. Not trying to talk trash about this place but didn't have a good experience. It also took them all day to do my alignment. read more

Very Bad Customer Service. We have been customers with City Tire & Battery for 2 years. Brought our Truck in for and Oil & Filter Change. They called saying I had 2 filters and did we want both changed. We did agree. When we picked up the Truck we were charged 470.00 for 3 filters changed. When we questioned the charges being very high (asked in a polite way) we were suddenly very unwelcome. They became very rude and did not want us there. We paid and left. Due to the obvious over charging and rude dismissive behavior We will never use this business again. read more

This morning I go to Tire City and battery before class, it was the closest to my house and one of the only ones open. My tire was low on Sunday so I put some air in it and meaning to get it looked at soon. I go to the counter and speak to Brett or Brent something like that, I tell him I need my drivers side rear tire looked at. He says ok and goes to send it to be looked at. He comes back and says that there is a hole in the wall of the tire and it needs to be replaced. He said that I needed all new tires (honestly I can't afford that at the moment so I asked for just one) No problem completely understandable, I pay the $153.81 and rush off to class. When I get to class I notice that it was the passenger side rear tire that was replaced. So after class I go back up to tire city and tell Brett/Brent that hey I think y'all replaced the wrong tire. He tells me that I am wrong and that I told him it was the passenger side. I tell him that he is wrong and just to fix it. (I don't think I was rude when I said this) I just needed it fixed. He pulls my car into the shop and they are like ok so your drivers side had a bolt in the tire and we patched it, and your passenger side the wires are showing so that is the ones we replaced. I never heard of the bolt the first time I came so it was like "where did this bolt and patch come out of". He was very rude trying to explain this tire situation to me and told me that "if you end up on the side of the road with a blow out do not call me". I was a shocked and appalled by this statement almost felt threatened. When you have someone do any kind of mechanical work to your vehicle you need to trust them, which I didn't anymore after that. So I told him to take off the new tire and put the old one back and that I would go somewhere else to buy a tire (I drive a Honda Civic it's not hard to find tires). He said that makes no sense and sounds ridiculous to him and I told him to do it anyway. They refund me the 153.81 and I pay $20 for a patch. After this I just wanna go home I'm over dealing with it today. But then I see poor man's tire on la Salle and decided to stop and see if I can get this resolved today. I explain everything that happened and the man is very kind and says that he will look at all my tired and make sure I'm ok to drive and fix anything that needed to be fixed. So he takes all my tires off and looks at them and he found the patch that they did and then finds a whole that they missed to he patches that one as well. He said that none of my tires are rotting or wires showing and they are good for 6 months to a year bc they are only 2 years old. Also both of my back tires where put on incorrect and would have gone off balance sooner or later. Finally I got my flat fixed no thanks to tire city and battery. To my surprise, these parts were still in good working order, after 200K miles. They gave me a free analysis and got me on my way in about 45 minutes. I will be back to buy my next set of tires. City Tire and Battery really blessed us. We have Toyota so we do not normally have repairs but our Corolla started running like it was going to die out. It was so bad I was afraid to drive it home from China Spring to Robinson. My husband came and he drove it home and I followed him. We looked on Yelp and City Tire and Battery had at least 4 stars as did several others. We gave them a call as it was about four in the afternoon and bring it in the next morning and they would look at it and give us a call and let us know what was wrong. So we went the next morning and we got there around 7:30. He put it on the machine and said it was number 1 cylinder misfiring and consequently number 1 spark plug was bad. He also gave us a ballpark quote. We ask if they can get the parts quickly, and he said yes. We were especially thankful for that because I've heard that there's a parts shortage. So we came home. At 9:11 they called and said it was ready. We were pleasantly greatly surprised! In all our years, I don't think we have ever taken a car or somewhere and had it repaired in that amount of time and correctly! So we went to pick it up and have been driving it ever since and it drives fine just like before. Also it was under $250, which we thought was a great price to have our car running correctly and so quickly. Can't recommend them enough. read more

Jeep was overheating and broke down near this shop. They replaced the radiator, fan clutch, and thermostat, but apparently didn't check the water pump when replacing nearly the entire cooling line. It didn't need a new radiator cap, but they replaced and charged me for one. Less than a month later, I was stranded on Memorial in 90 degree morning weather with a car that was overheating at less than 30mph. Obviously, I wasn't happy. Called them to pick it up and they towed it, but didn't hear anything for the rest of the day so I reached out. They didn't know, so I called the next morning for an update. Normally I wouldn't be as insistent on info, but as this is my primary car, I needed it back asap. It was the fan pump, which I had to pay for extra labor of having to take apart and put back together all the same components as the previous job, when it could have been done all at once. Seems like they are the ones benefitting from a less than thorough job by charging me twice for longer labor service, which ultimately put me in danger of being stranded or having a fried head gasket and a dead car. It's not honest to do that to anyone, especially a single student on a tight budget, particularly when everything down to the tow is invoiced. No communication, kept saying the car would be ready later, but no updates without having to be called constantly and what they said was never consistent with the status of the car. Kept "test driving" it when fan pumps commonly overheat while idling, which was the major issue with my car prior. When I said this, they didn't listen. A few days later, car is still overheating and making a new, loud noise while running. Not worth the hassle or money when just fixing the car enough to make it drivable forces me to have to come back in and fork over more money. Total money pit. The place is probably fine for one time repairs like tires or batteries, but honestly, if I hadn't broken down near them, it wouldn't be my choice to take a car here for bigger repairs. It should be one and done for rebuilding cooling lines and replacing major parts and costing me way more money and aggravation for what could have been done originally. Not quality work. read more

My tire pressure light illuminates 5 miles north of Waco. I grab my phone and voice search "tire repair waco" and City Tire pops up. By the time I exit 333A, my lil 2 door is wobbly and my cat (in her crate) is meowing because she knows there's something to be nervous about. I turn in, pull up to an open slot, and sure enough the back left tire is tortilla-flat (not in the good steinbeck way). While I cuss and laugh at the predicament, a tire specialist (whose name I regrettably forget) is all ready to go with the car jack. The cap key is buried in my trunk under luggage and random crap from the trip home and two other dudes help remove these items to fetch the key, replacing them with care. Very sweet! Within seconds my tire is off and being inspected. Sure enough, there's a gaping hole. The friendly specialist shows me all the internal shavings of the tire wall so I know it's a good time to screw the repair and just get a new tire. Wesley, who has a great sense of humor, handled the financial transactions and paper stuffs like he was my own brother. My tires aren't always found at tire shops and, lo and behold, they have it! A different brand (big whoop) but the right size! 200 bucks and ~20 minutes later I leave with a new tire and a chipper, grateful disposition. The brisk wait seemed like even less due to their lovely doggie, Sugar, and conversation with a local who has been coming to this place his whole life. Now that shows integrity and a damn good business! Next time I get a flat I hope it's within 5 miles of Waco. read more

Well if you are family or want to hang out with Baylor cronies, they are probably OK for changing batteries or putting on a set of tires. But DO NOT LET THEM DO ALTERNATOR OR ELECTRICAL SERVICE ON YOUR CAR! This work is over their head as I just found out. No real diagnostic equipment or personnel. I had my wife's Hyundai towed in when her car stalled nearby. They replaced the alternator after burning one up, put in a new battery, looked for a short in the electrical system (which they never found), and after over a week with the car, returned to me a vehicle that was in worse shape than when I took it in. No dash lights, radio, door looks do not work, can't open trunk or gas cover, and car barely drives at 20 mph, and it is now a safety hazard. After their screwing me over for $716, I got it to the local Hyundai dealer to see if he can fix what City Tire & Battery could not. read more

Contacted this firm at 7:15 am to see if they could come to my home and repair a tire suffering a nail hole. They arrived by 8:30 and repaired the tire in my garage after removing and plugging hole . Checked for any other problems , reinstalled and provide a bill. Excellent service at a fair price. Technician was very knowledgeable and new his job.
