My husband,Aaron Price, took his truck in for AC REPAIR. He explained to them that it was blowing cool on the passenger side but not on the driver's side. It should not have needed a compressor. When he went to pick it up, the bill was a little over $2,700.0! They put in a new compressor. It stopped working in a couple of days so we took it back. They said it needed an actuator. Quick Car Care with or without an appointment I was able to show up without an appointment on a Friday morning and get my oil changed and air filter and battery replaced in about an hour along with an apology for the wait. I am very disappointed with this auto care facility. I took my car in to be serviced while we were on vacation. I told them to do a couple of things which included checking out a noise I was hearing. They said that they found an issue with the idler pulley, and I had them change it out. About three weeks after picking up the car I started having issues with the harmonic balancer. When I asked them why they didn't catch that and take care of it while it was in the shop, they said "it isn't something we check in our inspection process." I told them that they were already right there changing a part out, and that being that this issue is common for my model car they should have caught it. I was told by the advisor that he would have the centers overall manager call me to see about discounting a return visit. That was over a month ago, and I still haven't heard from him. I would not recommend them to anyone. They don't pay attention to what they are doing. read more

I know one thing, they broke a Cap on my car and then they Not only Demanded it but Made me pay for it. My self and my best friend of 30 years who is also a good Christian man, just happen to be driving past kish in waco when we started talking about car issues. Turns out they did a similar thing to him!!! We both thought it was strange and somehow shady since his story was "Very" similar to mine. Some belt broke on my car and then their mechanic broke a Cap off on my car, getting to the belt; the lady on the telephone said they were glad to Repair the Cap but that I would be charged the full 60.00 bucks to fix the problem! Say what? Are you serious? Anyways she was serious as a heart attack in an elevator, I was told I could NOT pick up my car until it was paid in full! That part I get, the part I dont understand, is when YOUR mechanic breaks something in my vehicle, I am the one charged for service and repair. That's like me coming over your house and taking a crap on your front lawn, and then charging you to come back and pick it up in one of those plastic heb bags. That shit dont fly bubba. . . . Anyhoo, it's been years since it happened and i'm not here to beat up on kish. Let me end by telling you the positives. They do drive you home and pick you up. Which is a hell of a thing to do. The people are very nice and informative involving automotive repairs and time of pickup. They do work on your car and get the job done. This is one of the few places that delivers quickly and efficiently. These sons of gun get the job done the first time, and they do a hell of a job. However, their service is not cheap by any means. 60.00 for a belt can quickly turn into 215.00 like it did for me. I would have given them a higher rating if they hadn't been so overly aggressive and pitiful in the way they treated my cap issue. I'll never go back to them ONLY because I'm a Nurse now and Allan Samuel's takes care of all my needs and they DONT charge me for something that is their fault and their responsibility. In other words, they dont piss down my back and tell me it's raining! Anyway, if you have the cash, I'd say: give em a shot, but you have been warned. read more

This is the most unethical car repair center you can find. My son went in thinking he needed an alignment, as his truck was pulling dramatically to the right. He was about to buy new tires and wanted the alignment to be correct before doing so. He was told by Freddie Kish that they could not perform the alignment due to upper and lower ball joints needing replacement as well as some type of "arms". My son left and took his truck to our trusted private mechanic who reported that NO WORK NEEDED TO BE DONE, and the 'pulling' was due to the tires being worn out. My son got the tires replaced today and the truck no longer pulls and drives fine. The tire center also corroborated that everything else looked fine...ball joints, etc. Freddie Kish is unethical and despicable. Do not do business with them. read more

The last time I took my car here, they gave me a long list of things to fix including my breaks. They said my breaks were in desperate need to be replaced, even though I just replaced them a couple of years ago. I recently took my car in to a different mechanic and they told me that my breaks were good for another couple of years! There were several things on their must do list, that other mechanics said did not need replaced OR fixed at a much lower rate. I would not use Freddie Kish again! read more

After shopping around for someone to do work on an old Lexus A/C system, Freddie Kish was the only shop willing to do it for less than a small fortune. The work was done in the time they said it would be for the price they said, and it has still held up one year later. Mr. Kish also personally worked with me on making sure I got excellent service. All in all, I was very happy with my service, especially when considering experiences with other mechanics. I would definitely recommend. For the first time took our car here for an oil change on July 20th, 2018. After we went home there was oil dripping on the driveway for the first time ever. Freddie Kish's employee claimed the oil plug/ pan appeared to have been previously repaired. If this was remotely true, then why not bring this to our attention immediately? Why would you send us home and let us discover the leak? Think about that for a minute. If there was something wrong with the plug, then why would you not mention at the time of the change and while we were waiting for the work to be completed? Why did it never leak before? Upon taking our car to the dealer it was discovered the plug/pan was not repaired, but appeared to be freshly stripped. It cost us $950 in repairs. Think twice before taking your car to Kish's. read more

My car wouldn't start, so we called around trying to decide where to take it. Unfortunately we didn't read reviews first, and settled on this place. We asked them how much it would cost for us to have the car towed to them, and for them to give us an estimate- and they replied that it would cost $55. We agreed, and had the car towed. They said that we needed a starter and new battery, and that it would cost $500! They justified the cost by saying that the starter alone is $250, but I researched online and found that O'reilly has starters for my car priced at $85. I also suspect that I don't actually need a new battery, since it has never given me problems, and apparently these people have a knack for exaggerating repairs. So we declined their estimate, and went to go pick up my car. We were charged the expected $55, PLUS a surprise $80 labor fee that we never agreed to. When my husband asked about it, they did not apologize or admit that they forgot to warn us about the charge. The man got extremely defensive and basically accused my husband of lying. It was a horrible experience, and I would definitely not recommend anyone to this shop. read more

I was driving from Dallas to San Antonio on a Friday afternoon with my dog, Roxy. Traffic was nasty, of course, and my car started running hot. I pulled off the highway and tried to take some side streets around the traffic. As my temperature gauge kept creeping up I knew I had to find some place quick. I happened upon this place and pulled in at 1:30pm. They invited both me and my dog inside. Everyone was so nice. They gave water and treats to my dog. But most importantly, they correctly diagnosed the problem with my car and had me up and running by 4:30 and it did not cost an arm and a leg. I have never had such a positive experience at an auto repair shop in my life. They treated me and my dog like family. I cannot thank these people enough! read more

A girlfriend and I drove to Waco to meet up with her brother for the OU at Baylor football game on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. BAYLOR won! YAY! After the game we were in traffic when my car started messing up. All kinds of electrical issues seemed to be happening. We were finally able to get out of traffic and pull into a business at 18th and 35. My car immediately died. Thank God for AAA and thank God my friends brother came back to take us to his house. I called AAA and they sent a tow truck immediately. There are no Lexus dealerships in Waco so our only choice for an after hours drop off service center was Freddie Kish's. We dropped the car off, filled out the paperwork, put the keys into the envelope and put it in the night drop box. I spoke to the mechanic first thing Friday morning. The issue was the Alternator. They quickly received a new Alternator and began the installation. The mechanic called me periodically with updates. By 1:00 my car was ready to pick up. My friends brother drove us to Freddie's and when we walked in the door we felt like we were dealing with family. Everyone was so friendly and talked to us about our ordeal. We were back on the road to Ft. Worth by 2:00. This was great because I had a class to attend at 6:00 that evening. I trust Freddie's completely and, God forbid, if I ever have car issues while in Waco again, I will most definitely let Freddie Kish's do the repairs. I took my vehicle there to have knock sensors replaced on my original motor with 187k. Got work completed went to get my car.$1500.00 Repair Car ran fine for 30 mins and then stopped. I had my vehicle towed back only to find out my engine had locked. They put 2nd engine in and I drove aprrox 3 mnths and check engine light would not stay off and blew smoke profusely in AM and when I would sit for longer that 30 mins. Took back for inspection to find out THAT WAS BAD MOTOR placed in my car with oil coming out of tail pipes. Another $3,500 was spent for the 3rd engine which I was told had 100,000 miles on it and was in good condition. Not even 3 days after having my car CHECK ENGINE/TRACOFF light appeared. Same codes thrown from my original motor. ( KNOCK SENSORS). My car is now back in the shop with a certified LEXUS mechanic which told me himself I WAS "RIPPED OFF". I'm only paying $400.00 for both knock sensors being replaced ALONG with a tune up. So needless to say if you have a foreign car I would recommend taking it to a "certified" foreign car mechanic and don't get "RIPPED OFF" the way I did. Not saying they are a bad business, just was bad business for me and my pocket book with what I'm finding out now. Will NOT take my car back there for anything!! Really hope the $5,000.00 received for me benefited the business..... read more

Do not use this shop. I brought my vehicle here they could not find an issue the first time I brought it. It was still having problems so brought it back and said I know something is wrong. Long story short they finally found out that some seals needed replacing so it would not burn oil. So they supposedly "fixed the issue" and about a month later it still had the same problems. Just so all of you know dealerships are horrible. It's pot luck on who works on your car. And service is horrible. If you took your car in to a dealer you'd be lucky to get it fixed the same day. You may pay more than a dealer but you get what you pay for dealers aren't the best. Independent repair shops are the best and can charge more and should because they pay there techs what they deserve. Dealership pays tech 40 percent less for a given job so they are below par. 500 isn't a lot of money. Don't be so cheap read more

As we were on our way to Waco I asked AAA to refer/and tow us to a dealer in Waco. These folks were so kind and helpful. Chris went above and beyond to get us back on the road by these morning! We all enjoyed the Texas hospitality which unfortunately is lacking in service in much of So Cal. We had our 2000 Jeep Cherokee towed here to get a diagnostics test. The test was $72, which was fantastic. But when they called with the "diagnosis", we were told that it would cost us $835.66 to fix a "shorted engine control module." This price is fair for a new part and labor, don't get me wrong. Of course, we didn't get it fixed because it was too expensive, so we had it towed home. The ISSUE is that we found a part online for $160, had it programmed and shipped, installed it, and our jeep STILL wouldn't run. Upon that, when installing the computer, we found that the mechanics unscrewed our air filter case and DID NOT screw it back it, and had left the wires pulled out of the computer. They were very sloppy. We took it to another mechanic and it turns out it was only the alternator. WE DID NOT NEED TO PAY $160 for a new part that was completely fine. My son is a Baylor student with an 87 Thunderbird. This place was recommended by a faculty advisor as "really good but certainly not the cheapest in town". I'm afraid to go into all the details because what I actually experienced was so far above and beyond the norm that I don't want everyone to expect the absolutely amazing service that we got but I'll say this: I have never in my life had a mechanic go out of his way like this and do so much. Plus we had to practically force them to take money to raise it to what I considered a fair price for the incredible lengths they went. I am not a "rich Baylor dad". Far from it. So I wasn't trying to throw money around. Right now it's the holidays and their mechanic named Tony is a saint as far as I'm concerned. Straight shooter. Knows his stuff. Helluva man. if you want a mechanic in Waco that you can tell your son or daughter to take their car to, tell them to call this place and ask for Tony. read more
