My wife and I were at City Vino at 11am 09/12/25, when they are supposed to be open. After waiting approximately 10 minutes a young man open the store. We found the item that we wanted and were ready to check out, but the same young man was filling an order in the back and cussing about politics while the customer waited. He finally walked by us saying, "I'll be right with you, I'm taking my time today cuz I'm so pissed off." (He said a much worse profanity.) City Vino was a participant in the Pumpkin Spice Crawl this past Saturday in downtown. When we were given our map at the visitor center, we were told that the vendors listed on that map were all giving out something complementary as part of the $35 ticket fee. Every other vendor on the list was kind, engaging and fun and had something really nice to share with us. When we got to City Vino, we were told about a flight they were offering for a certain price. When I asked about what the complementary tasting was, the owners response was "we've grown up" and "we have Cab flights for such and such cost". I responded that her store was on the map and supposed to offer a complementary tasting. Again she didn't address my question and responded "we also have bottles for sale in the back". She was rude and talked right over me. My friend and I as well as another couple next to us both walked out. I'd start stomping my own grapes and making wine before I'd consider being a patron here again. I've bought from them many times at the old location and was always treated well. Very disappointed and so was the Visitor Center when I reported what happened. read more

Wifey and I stopped in at City Vino to pick up a few bottles for gifts and walked out loving this place. We were greeted by Rita and before we knew it we were offered to be her first customers for their wine tasting that day. Rita knew her wines and was very informative, not only about the four bottles we tasted, but also about the local VA wines we wanted to purchase as gifts. I wouldn't call Wifey and I wine connoisseurs, but we know what we like and we walked away with some nice wines. I hope City Vino makes it. They don't have a huge selection, but I'd definitely shop here if I lived in the area. read more

I happened to be visiting the local area for a wedding and took a stroll. I love me some wine and could not take a peak inside. The couple who own the shop were the most lovely and friendly. I bought a wedding gift and they helped pick out the gift bag and wrapped everything up for me!
