Visited on a weeknight evening for a birthday dinner. The interior is thoughtfully decorated, elevated, and welcoming. Our waiter had a fantastic personality and manners, but unfortunately the service was very slow. We were there 2 hours from beginning to finish of service. Around the table, we enjoyed the French onion soup, potato soup, braised short ribs, seared scallops, escargot, and mussels and shrimp poulette. The dinner included complimentary rolls and butter - very good. :) All of our meals were delicious and filling - great serving sizes and quality of food.

La Petite is La Delicious! My family and I make the trip down from Quantico to celebrate my wife's birthday in what I hoped would be a formal, cozy atmospheric place. A place that offered exquisite service, mouth watering dishes, a well stocked bar, and could accommodate small children to include an 8-month old who enjoys the occasional outburst. And I'm so very pleased to say we found it at La Petite Auberge. Our server Desmond deserves a well earned shoutout for making us all feel so welcomed. Right as we arrived, Desmond had us well accommodated, acquiring very well sanitized high chair and walking us through the specials for the evening. While we would have loved to have sampled the entire menu, we decided on the braised beef short ribs, baked stuffed shrimp with crab meat, Parmesan crusted Atlantic salmon. All dishes were top notch in flavor, portions, price, and presentation. Exactly what we hoped for and then some. For dessert, we (my wife) pre-order 2x servings of the Crème Brûlée which was...perfection. Just what the doctor ordered (yea, dentists count too). Delicious flavor, cool temperature, and well paired with the wine and cocktails. Speaking of drinks! A half bottle of Malbec and an always reliable old fashion with Basil Hayden. Talk about rounding out the entire course to the max. Bottom line. La Petite Auberge is a MUST stop dining experience. Ideal for special occasions and those times where fancy dress is what you might be feeling. The restaurant is a very comfortable place, supported by histories greatest classical composers and dimly lit to set the mood. The staff do a great job of making all feel welcome, are experts in their craft, and ensure your needs and wants are addressed in a timely manner. I'd happily recommend to anyone in search for a unique and highly satisfactory meal experience. So happy we found it and I look forward to our next visit. Side note(s): -Bathroom was very clean, large, and well stocked. -The bar is separate from the main dining room which works great for the various parties that might appear. Well stocked and comfortable with seating at both the bar and separate tables. Minor set back(s): -Cocktails are not served over blocks or stones. Ice chips are the only option (I asked). Unfortunate.

We called around 5 PM on a Friday and were told there were no reservations--but when we asked about 8 PM, they were able to fit us in. The space is upscale and inviting, though we still waited 15 minutes to be seated. Complimentary champagne helped smooth that over. Drinks were solid--my Chardonnay was excellent, and the old fashioned and beet mocktail were both well liked. The garden salads were fresh but unremarkable. Two of us ordered the short rib, which our server hyped up, but they were out. I went with the stuffed fish, which was just okay (the vegetables were the best part). My partner's swordfish was overly salty. We ended with key lime pie, which was good, though they were also out of espresso. They did comp dessert due to the missing items, which we appreciated. Service was kind and responsive, but overall the food and availability didn't quite meet expectations. I'd consider returning, but I'm not in a rush especially with the other GREAT options in the area.

Went for birthday dinner on a Monday night. We had a reservation but the place wasnt too busy. Wonderful service from our waiter. He knew the entire menu and answered any questions. The food was incredible!! I will certainly be back to try other menu items

Fantastic food and service, fell so welcome by the staff and the food was phenomenal. The escargots were outstanding and had to eat the bread with the sauce, recommended by the server and she didn't lie! Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed this first experience. We sat in the lovely moody bar which has lots of seating for lunch on a Saturday. Service was great and attentive and they even made toast points for us as a special request. The escargot was delicious, steak tartare was bland though and flat in flavor. The poached eggs on the smoked salmon benedict were ccooked to perfection which is a rare event at most restaurants we've been to. We will be back cor sure.

Tried to order three different beers, and every one of them was "not available today," which is restaurant talk for "the truck's late and so are we." Artie the bartender just gave this little shoulder shrug that said, "Partner, I don't make the rules, I just open the bottles." The place itself helped the afternoon along. The building is laid out so you can see just about everything from your stool: bar, tables, who's coming in the door, and whether your food is on its way. Sightlines were wide open, nothing cluttered or cramped, and the whole joint looked super clean, like somebody actually cares what it looks like before the crowd shows up. So we did what any sensible, thirsty people would do: picked two other beers, ordered some apps, and decided not to take life--or the tap list--too seriously. The beer we got was cold, the food was hot, and Artie turned out to be the kind of bartender you come back to see more than you come back for the menu. We'll be back, too. Lewis would've gotten a whole column out of that shrug. The food was excellent, too. The fish bites alone just about made the afternoon; if the beer list had completely fallen apart, we still would've called it a win on those.

Since learning that, we have made our own oyster tradition and seek to have them in January because it can't hurt! I saw that Port Oysteria was participating in FXBG restaurant week which is happening now and thought it was a great opportunity for us to try someplace new and get our oysters. While we did not order anything from the restaurant week specials (there was only one at lunch, and a couple more after 3pm) my wife and I did enjoy a nice lunch today. The chargrilled oysters were just right for us to share as a starter and very tasty. My wife had the fried oyster po-boy and I had the blackened grouper sandwich; both were delicious. The coleslaw was good as was the Parmesan mashed potatoes. There is a good beer selection on tap and an interesting cocktail list. Our first beer choice was out, but our backup choices were good. Service was good but the restaurant was not very busy. The atmosphere is interesting with moody, dark painted walls and bold murals and a mix of '90s grunge and alt-pop music in the background. We definitely want to go back for dinner sometime and try more of the menu.

They did a phenomenal job creating such a magical atmosphere--I honestly wish they could keep the decorations up all year . While waiting for our table, we grabbed seats at the bar and ordered cocktails. I had the prickly pear margarita, and she ordered a cider sour. Both were fantastic, though I wish the bar had mentioned the holiday cocktail menu earlier. I didn't learn about the festive drinks until we were seated and our server, Lindsay, walked us through the winter specials. The "Sweater Weather" cocktail sounded amazing (white tequila and coconut milk ) and is definitely something I'll be back to try. We stuck with our go-to appetizer, the goat cheese bruschetta, which was delicious as always. For entrées, we went classic brunch: the hangover burger and the shrimp and grits. My girlfriend loved her burger, and Sedona's shrimp and grits remain one of my absolute favorites--perfectly seasoned and cooked. Even though we were full, we couldn't pass up the seasonal dessert, tiramisu. It was the perfect size--just enough to share without pushing us over the edge. Lol. Another successful meal at Sedona! The service is consistently top-notch, and our server Lindsay was hands down the best--knowledgeable, attentive, and with an amazing personality. We loved her so much, we wished she could've joined us for brunch. The manager also stopped by a couple of times to check on us, which we really appreciated. If you haven't experienced Sedona yet, you are seriously missing out. And definitely ask to sit in Lindsay's section!

For dinner on our first night, we opted to give Brocks Riverside Grill a try and we were not disappointed. Our waitress, Mckewen, was super friendly and helpful with both ordering selections when both of us have Shellfish allergies and later pairing our entrees with wines. For starters, we ordered drinks. My wife ordered a glass of Chardonnay and I ordered a Spicy Margarita. We shared an appetizer of Crispy Brussel Sprouts and bread rolls that came with a delicious oil and garlic dipping sauce. The main dining area was sparsely attended by other dinner patrons, with large windows to one side overlooking the river. For entrees, my wife selected the Roasted Beet Poke Bowl which she described as "light and refreshing" and I ordered the 16-oz Marinated Ribeye, cooked to Medium along with sides of mixed Seasonal Vegetables (sliced Zucchini & Squash) and Redskins Mashed potatoes with an order of mushrooms to go on top of the steak. I also ordered a nice glass of Merlot wine to go with it. The portions were generous, and the entrees perfectly prepared, and very tasty. If there was any fault at all, it was that the ribeye was a little too laden with a ring of fat rather than simply marbled, but otherwise no complaints. For dessert, I ordered a slice of Key Lime Pie and my wife ordered Crème Brûlée. Both were appealing to the eye and each bite beckoned us to take another bite. It is certainly someplace we would go to again.

It had been over a year and, frankly, I expected it to be way busier for a Friday evening. Trying to beat the rush, we arrived around 5:30pm... cue eating with the seniors. Our waitress, Jennifer, was friendly and wonderful during the entire visit. While we were looking at the menu, she warned us the kitchen was backed up about 40 minutes, so that pushed us to put in an order of fried calamari. The calamari took about 10 minutes to come out, which was totally reasonable. The bowl of calamari was served with a side of marinara and spicy mayo. The breading (homemade) was nice and thick, not too greasy. The two downsides of it is that the calamari were overcooked, which led them to being rubbery, and the breading was a bit salty. Given Jennifer had told us the kitchen staff was training, we gave them some grace and ate the calamari anyway. For my entree, I had a combo platter. There's various combos to pick from; I chose the fish fillet and crab cake. You can choose between 4-5 types of fish (I went for flounder) and whether you want it grilled or fried. The crab cake was awesome and had very little filler. All platters come with 4 hush puppies (they were very good!) and two sides of your choosing. I opted for coleslaw, which was creamy and semi sweet but not much (I prefer that over the vinegar base coleslaw), and candied yams. My husband had the two fish fillet platter with a side of mac n' cheese and coleslaw. Overall, the food was super good. Despite the appetizer, we enjoyed our dinner and look forward to returning again.

Yes, there are "trendy" restaurants downtown with a larger and rotating, seasonal, or farm-to-table menu. But Olde Towne Steak & Seafood is wonderful. The interior could use a bit of an upgrade. I went there for my Senior prom in 1990 and although it is still cozy and inviting -especially fireside-the clean, classic decor could use a bit of a perking up. No minor issues like decor can obscure the wonderful service! A LOT of servers in this area consider waiting tables just a job to be done and gotten over with and customers a nuisance.
