Very cute wine bar with a good selection of west coast, international, and local wine. They are owned by Rogers Ford Winery, a local Virginia winery about half an hour away. While I have always loved everything their winemaker produces, Virginia wine (especially from Rogers Ford) is just a portion of what's available. Curio even has snacks and flatbread! The wine is basically self-service. You get a plastic card that you charge with credits (like a debit card) and choose the wine dispenser of your choice. You can get different level of pours, from a tiny sample to a half glass. The selections run everything from Argentinian Malbec to west coast Pinot to Virginia Petit Verdot to Bordeaux. That gives you a huge range to select from. I love the format, and I'm almost always there when in town to try something new. The flatbreads are good too!

Top notch customer service. We were greeted immediately and "shown the ropes" as we were new to the establishment. We purchased our wine card (my husband and I shared a card as there is a small fee for the card itself) and got $25 loaded onto it. We ordered our food, it was restaurant week so we got the special which included one of their sangrias, a flatbread pizza and a creme brulee dessert. We chose the peaches and cream sangria which was just ok, the la dolce vita pizza which had a bit of a spicy kick to it but was delicious! And the creme brulee was good. We came with two friends and they ordered the cheese board and the curio pizza. We found a seat downstairs which was really nice and cool on a 96° day and then we all walked around looking at all the different choices of wines, we made our selections, most of us choosing the small pours so we could try many different wines and then sat down for a great visit. The wine dispensing machines give you three options, a small taste, a good size 3oz pour or a larger glass which I believe might've been 6oz. It's a super fun way to taste different wines with friends and you can purchase a full bottle to either drink there or take home. There is no private parking that we saw so you'll need to find an adjacent lot or on street parking which was mostly 2 hour limit which did cut our visit short a bit but it was such a nice time that we'll definitely be back!

Cute little wine bar that you can pick your pour size from bottle wines. What makes this place, besides the nice wine selection, is the amazing staff. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff! Really wonderful experience. Thank you Kate!!!

Curio is just perfect! Great location with wonderful staff. Enjoy the main floor, the cellar, and patio in the back. Great selection of wine and small plates if you have the urge for a bite. Don't miss the Rogers Ford Cabernet Franc

Easily one of my new favorite places in FXBG. This place is a one stop shop for wine. Upon walking in, my guest and I were greeted warmly and instantly engaged by the owner. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and instantly elevated the experience. Everyone here is so nice, and willing to help as well as let you explore - all while not being too pushy. For those who love wine or are just learning more about vino - this place has something for everyone. This is a self serve wine bar, where you purchase a tasting card which allows you to taste a plethora of different wines all while having the choice of sampling, or getting a full glass (which is an added touch). There are many places to enjoy the wine including upstairs, the courtyard, as well as a functional wine cellar. There are great lite bite options to snack on during the experience. Had both the La Dolce Vita and the Pome D'Amore flatbreads, both perfect accompaniments to the full selection of wine. At the end of your experience you can also buy any of the wines you sampled at a discounted price. A great souvenir from the visit. This is definitely a place where you want to become a regular. Cheers to a beautiful addition to FXBG.

Great wine and great atmosphere. The staff was friendly. If you want a neat place to just sit and visit, this is the place.

Fun concept of pouring your own wine and tasting a lot of options. Ordered one of the cocktails and wasnt worth it, better off with the wine pours

My absolute favorite hideout! The best place to pop in on a date night or Sunday fun when bouncing around downtown. They have an incredible selection of wines for purchase. Every month there's a new theme and special. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and super nice. If you love one you'll love Curio!

Brand new wine tasting bar (opened 8/10/23). Super modern, small plates and boards, 9 stations of 4 different wines each. Delightful, helpful staff.

Fantastic! A "must try" and one we'll visit often…read more We're in the process of moving to Fburg and decided to have a nice dinner. I looked through Yelp and picked F132 as our first meal in the new town. Great choice! We didn't have a reservation, and it was Friday at 6pm, so we were placed on the bar seating wait list. We were seated in 20-25 minutes, which was super fast and great with us. Lesson learned for next time, make a reservation. But, if you choose or wind up at the bar, the service is great and seating is comfortable. The bartender was with us quickly and walked us through the Happy Hour specials. Drinks, apps, etc. they had a good variety of things in HH and many seemed interesting. But we were there for steak, so we let him know and he took our orders. In the meantime, he got us waters and bread service. While we waited, we watched the bar staff make some amazing concoctions including smoked old fashioneds, and all manner of flavors, textures, and mixtures. I don't really do cocktails but there were egg whites, chocolate sauce, fruits, mints and great presentations. They also were serving HH food and the Happy Dog looked filling: the truffle fries were served in what looked like multi-pound platters. I had the filet with French onion soup and corn salad. My wife had filet with mashed potatoes and black eyed peas. The bartender explained sides change frequently and are selected by what is available farm fresh. The corn salad was a sort of chilled street corn with some peppers and stuff. Very good and the corn was so fresh. French onion soup was delish! Absolutely perfect. Black eyed peas were great. I didn't try the mashed potatoes. The steak was the star. I don't know what's in their house rub, but it's perfect. And the steaks are cooked under an 1800 degree broiler so they get that perfect sear. Both were cooked at the perfect temperature. And the meat was trimmed so there was nothing but butter-tender beef. Let me be clear-THIS IS THE BEST STEAK I'VE EVER HAD! The service was perfect. My glass never fell below 2/3 full, and we never were waiting on service, but it was non intrusive and really made the experience so much better. A++! Wherever you are reading this, stop what you are doing, and RUN, don't walk to Fahrenheit 132. You'll thank me later.

We were seated promptly, no awkward hovering, and our waitress showed up friendly, sharp, and knowing her way around the menu--which is a quality that ought to be listed right next to "clean silverware." We started with the crab and corn chowder, and let me say this right now: the crab was not there for decoration. It announced itself. Big flavor, no apologies, the way crab chowder ought to be. Second round was the smoked salmon salad. Perfect. The salmon was excellent, but that tarragon caper dressing had a way of making you slow down and think about life choices. I would put that dressing on just about anything that didn't move fast enough. For the main event, I chose the scallops, and I am prepared to testify they were as good as any I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, sitting pretty with an aioli that knew its job and did it well. My wife ordered the beef medallions, and I'll admit this with humility: looking back, I may have chosen wrong. Those medallions were expertly prepared and packed with flavor, the kind that makes you reconsider your own plate. We finished with cheesecake and berries. The cheesecake did its part. The berries... well, not every inning is a home run. Fortunately, the wine stepped in like a good relief pitcher and made everything right again. Through it all, the service never slipped. We were treated the way folks ought to be treated when they go out to celebrate something that matters. And that, in my book, counts just as much as what's on the plate. Sorry for the lack of pictures the food and wine kept my attention

I seriously did not expect a restaurant in Fredericksburg to meet our expectations. Service was spot on as well. The beef medallions were tender and cooked perfectly medium. The shrimp were unexceptional next to the medallions. The cauliflower and other veggies with a hint of basil were lovely. The scallops were tender and fresh --so rare these days that we rarely order them. We chose a bottle of wine instead of wine pairings and our server helped us navigate the extensive wine list. The Beaumes de Venise red was a great choice because we are not so fond of white wine. The pot de chocolat and creme brulee were a perfect ending to an outstanding meal.

Free street parking nearby was easy to find. If you have a private event, you go to the back of the restaurant at the right and down some stairs. We were able to order whatever drink we wanted on the menu. For food, they brought trays out buffet style. We tried a variety of things. The star of the show was the Brussels sprouts. They were cooked to perfection and had a great sweet sauce. I enjoyed the salad too. They also brought out wings, mini burgers, mini fried chicken sandwiches, and tuna. Some were overcooked, but the flavor was nice. The seating was a bit awkward for a group our size in the private room, but we made it work. It was nice how casual it was.

At 12:25 p.m., the hostess informed us they were catching up on tables but that we would be seated soon. At 12:30 p.m., we were finally seated. Our waitress did not greet us warmly, make eye contact, introduce herself, or provide any information about the restaurant or menu. At 12:45 p.m., we ordered our food and drinks, and at 12:50 p.m., our drinks arrived. Around 1:30 p.m., we realized our food still had not come out, while other tables being served by our waitress were receiving prompt and friendly service. Our waitress passed our table four times without stopping to provide an update on our food or apologize for the extensive wait time. We were finally able to get her attention and politely asked about the status of our order. Without an apology or acknowledgment of our experience, she responded that she would tell the chefs to "rush" our order. We never asked for our food to be rushed -- we simply wanted an update because we had already been waiting far longer than expected. When our food was eventually brought out by another staff member, it was cold after nearly two hours of waiting. At that point, my husband asked to speak with the manager because not only was the wait time unacceptable, but the food was also cold. The manager eventually came to our table, apologized for the delay, and offered to discount the meal. My husband thanked him for the apology, but by that point, we decided the experience was not worth salvaging. We told the manager we did not want the cold food or watered-down drinks. Not only was our Mother's Day celebration ruined, but the lack of accountability from the staff and the poor customer service made the entire experience extremely disappointing.
