We tried out this restaurant that along the lines of Raisin Canes and Guthries, focuses on chicken tenders. They have both straight tenders as well as a few different chicken sandwiches. I went with straight tenders and fries with hickory bbq dip as well as buffalo bleu cheese. The tenders were quite small but were of very high quality with really juicy chicken and a good batter. The dipping sauces were good especially the buffalo bleu cheese. The parmesan fries were outstanding as well. The restaurant itself looked pretty cool and had a lot cool decor on the walls. The service was fine as well. At the end of the day I don't rate Citybird as high as Joella's or Raisin Canes but there's still a lot to like here and the next time want to try out their sandwiches. read more

I was in the Crestview hills shopping center and wanted to try something new. I googled places around and this one sounded interesting. I was honestly craving a salad with some type of chicken and eggs but they didn't offer exactly that. So I settled for for a medium size meal which has chicken tenders and fries and I tried their house sauce. Overall the chicken was good. Not as crispy as I would like it to be. The fries were a little cold. The sauce was good. Had a little spice to it. I will say the chicken was tender though not dry which was great. The service was okay. The lady looked a little confused. Great chicken tender spot- was pretty dead during lunch time I'm not sure why because it's delicious! I absolutely love their fries, ranch and city sauce and my husband loves being able to get the Eagles hot honey without having to go downtown! Wow! I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a few months after reading their reviews here on Yelp, and I'm only disappointed I waited so long to try them! The shining star of the experience is the food. The tenders are juicy, flavored very well, and their homemade sauces are fantastic - including the City Sauce. Do it. One sauce should be enough for 6 tenders by the way - the employee who rang me up didn't really know how far they would stretch. The honey mustard and Ranch are also good. The fries are GREAT. I would have eaten more! The inside decor is modern and very clean. Worked well for conversation - I didn't feel like we were smushed up against someone else's table and they could overhear us. All their chicken is free range and steroid free - which helps with the taste. The one thing I will say is the tenders are smaller probably because of this - no steroids. So where I ordered 6 tenders thinking it would be a lot - I was still hungry when I finished. If I go back I would probably order 8 or 10 - or just get 20 and split it with a friend - they are THAT GOOD. They offer 7 different sauces I've had almost all of them and you can't go wrong with any of them honestly. I love their city sauce and ranch the most! The hot honey is very good as well. On to the tenders, today for lunch I got the large tender meal with fries and a fountain coke. The tenders were just like every previous time I've been here; PERFECT. The breading to chicken ratio is immaculate - there's no "gross" or fatty parts on their chicken unlike other places. The tenders are perfectly seasoned and moist. I could eat them without the sauce but the sauce just adds to the experience. The fries are also insanely tasty; the Parmesan and parsley level them up from just a basic fry and make you wanna clear your plate pretty quickly. I am not one to leave reviews, but we have been frequent CityBird customers at this location since it opened and I can safely say that it is one of my favorite and most consistent restaurants. The chicken tenders are the best part of the experience for me. I absolutely love that they use higher quality chicken, I feel better about eating there than most other restaurants! The chicken is always so tender, I have never had a time where we have not enjoyed the chicken. It is so flavorful every time! My favorite sauce is the Buffalo Bleu. It is the perfect amount of spice and it has great flavor. We also love the fries. They are always a perfect amount of crisp!! The lemonade and tea are super delicious as well. We got a pickup order today for 11:05 and it was ready right when we walked in, and the employee who helped us was super welcoming and efficient. I truly can't recommend CityBird enough. There is just enough breading to add a bit of crunch. The same delicious tenders are in the sandwiches. Children's sandwiches are large. They cone with two tenders, and three pickle slices. As equally delicious as the chicken are the fries. Fries are topped with parmesan and parsley. There is a hint of sweetness to the fries. This might sound strange, but it totally works. Fries go well with the house made lemon thyme ranch. In fact, all of their sauces are made in house. The new Thai chile bbq tastes like a cross between Thai chile sauce and a vinegar-based BBQ sauce. All their sauces are packed with flavor. Decor is sleek and modern. The name totally fits the decor. Unlike the OTR location, the Crestview Hills has a full dining area. Orders to-go are still welcome. Their app makes ordering to-go quick and easy. The restaurant was clean. As were their restroom. Everyone was all smiles during our visit. We were warmly greeted so many times that I lost count. Food was up quickly. There was hiccup with the soda machines. There was someone standing near by apologizing for the inconvenience. I love City Bird. If you're familiar with Cane's or Guthrie's, City Bird is similar, but SO MUCH BETTER. The chicken is free-range, antibiotic-free, brined in house (i.e. super moist!), flavorful, and much less greasy than its competitors. The sauces (yes, plural! They have several to choose from!) are delicious. The fries are covered in Parmesan. If all this wasn't enough, they really separate themselves from their competitors by offering sandwiches and salads! There's something for everyone. I expected the tenders to be more in the style of a Zaxby's or Guthrie's, and while they were not really like the chicken at those places, they were very tender and juicy in their own right. I really enjoyed them and scarfed them down pretty quick (hey, I was hungry! ). The fries come with what think was Parmesan on them, kind of reminded me of truffle fries. While I'm not exactly sure what it was, I just know it was good. They have a variety of sauces, I tried and enjoyed the City Sauce.
