Took the advice and came here. The menu looks like Raising Cane's. Easy! Chose the Box Combo. Box Combo does not come with a drink. Oh well. Add a drink on top of the Box Combo, it came out to be $13.23 after tax. I see why Raising Cane's is so popular. Just tasted like a day old chicken fingers and fries from Raising Cane's. Texas toast tasted good but other than that, nothing else tasted exceptional or even good. 7:30pm on a Friday, the restaurant was really quiet with just one person dining in. The food was made to order and because it was slow, my order was made after I placed the order, about five to seven minutes wait time. No complaints about the wait but if you have been to Raising Cane's before, I do not recommend this place. read more

I loved the size of the chicken fingers and they were very tasty. I wish I could have had more. Fries were a little overdone which I like. The slaw was good. I seem to never have a good experience going to this Guthries. I used to work close by and would get it every so often and it was hit or miss but more often it was a miss. It's a mirror image of Raising Cane's without the dog mascot. Honestly, the only difference was Guthrie's had a full piece of Texas Toast. While Cane's has like a half of a piece of Texas Toast. I have eaten from this restaurant location several times and the food quality is so hit/miss. The servers are friendly, but you never know how good/bad the food will actually be. I'll update this review since it's been a while. Generally when I've eaten from here I've been going through the drive thru on the way home from work as was the case with the pictured order. Their staff has been friendly and accurate. Also the food has been fresh each and every time even after my drive home. As I said they have a small menu of chicken tenders and a few sides for it but the things tbey have are all high quality. The tenders themselves have a fantastic breading that has lots of great flavour. The chicken is juicy and the strips are a good size. Their "signature sauce" is a blend of mayo, ketchup, and some other spices (I'm taking an educated guess there) and works fantasticly well with the strips. The fries are crinkle cuts and are good dipped into either ketchup or the signature sauce. The coleslaw is mid grade and the toast is actually really good (so simple but delicious). This is a great family option for dinner in that you can get a big ole bucket with sides or for an individual where you can get a box (which is what I got on this occasion) that'll fill you up and tastes great. After a recent trip out of town, I was driving home from the airport and noticed a sign for Guthrie's and couldn't believe my eyes. Guthrie's was one of the original if not THE original chicken finger place that popped up years ago. I always felt that all the other places that popped up after the fact such as Zaxby's and Raising Cane's were mere copies of this place. My nostalgia for Guthrie's is rooted back to my days at Auburn University in LA (Lower Alabama) where they had a drive through business that was all the rave on campus. This was in the 90's time frame so they have been making chicken finger boxes for a long time. I still can't believe it that there was one all the way up here near Cincinnati. I find there chicken and batter to be the best. Zaxby's was good but sometimes pieces would be smaller and less crispy. Raising Cane's has great batter but I find the chicken to be tough somehow. Guthrie's is always that perfect balance for me. Also, their original sauce is King and which all other chicken finger places were derived. Highly recommended! read more

My experience was alright --not bad or great. I ordered at the counter, and ate inside. My food was prepared fairly quickly, and was piping-hot. This by itself is a compliment, as other fast food restaurants struggle with this alone. As for the flavor profile of the food, both chicken and fries, I wasn't "wowed" by any means. The chicken though was cooked perfectly --compared to other chicken joints (Cane's). This might be bias however feel that Canes is to chewy. Anyhow, the staff seemed very pleasant/ kind. The inside/ dine-in aesthetic wasn't the best. I feel that the dining room was comparable to a truck stop bathroom, in terms of cleanliness. Wow! I may have finally found a chicken joint that has a better sauce than Raising Cane's! The sauce is very similar to Cane's except it has black pepper in it. I like the extra kick! The Cole slaw is also wayyyy better than Cane's. However, Cane's chicken is bigger, crisper and juicer. Much fresher over-all. I like Guthrie's batter more though. The fries were very good as well. Sweet tea was not as sweet as Cane's which I like. As for the toast, I don't know. I don't eat toast. I definitely prefer Guthrie's Chicken over Cane's and Zaxbys. read more

I got the box, which seems to be the only thing individuals get here - a bunch of chicken tenders, a bunch of fries, a tiny side of coleslaw, a piece of Texas toast, and some dip. I cleaned it all. So we went to Gutheries today in Fort Wright KY for the first time. The wait in the drive thru was rather long. We ordered 2 box meals. The food was very fresh! The cole slaw was much better than Caines! On the flip side the chicken pieces are very small! That was very disappointing. The chicken was vert good but again very small! No drinks included! It was almost 19.00 for 2 meals with no drinks. They dont have the cute sayings like Gaines either. Overall not bad for a lunch portion. read more

Working directly down the road from this restaurant, I was pretty excited to see new options coming in! One of my co-workers was SO stoked about this restaurant, I couldn't wait to try it. Going in- you see that the menu is quite limited. Chicken tenders or a chicken tender sandwich... that's what you get. I got the box, which was surprisingly a lot of food for a fair price: 5 tenders, crinkle fries, cole slaw, and TX toast. They are quite proud of the secret sauce that comes with the tenders. I don't know what it was- but I did like it! The cole slaw and TX toast were both juicy (in different ways) and delicious. The fries were pretty non-descript. As for the chicken- it was a nice piece of meat... but it was heavily breaded in a very crunchy shell. I'm not big on crunch- so I was a little put off by that. It was still quite tasty- and with enough sauce, I could almost ignore the texture. The food was pretty good.
