It bothers me that you have to give this app a good rating order to earn points, the most points you can earn in the game in fact (99 points) because it does not accurately reflect how one feels about the experience. For this reason I am dropping a star. The game was fun and a good team builder for a group. However I would have expected that the app would ensure that the area selected would have the items required on the scavenger hunt. Example: The grove had no arcade games and no spa chairs for a massage so both teams wasted time and effort looking for them.

Challenge: "Take a picture of a teammate getting kissed by a stranger under something that looks like mistletoe."

She shared interesting stories about the neighborhood and the restaurants, which made it feel more like exploring the area with a knowledgeable friend rather than a typical tour. The food was delicious and plentiful, and we even met some really nice new friends along the way. Our very first Six Taste tour was actually the Arts District tour back in 2016, so it was special to return ten years later and experience it again. Over the years we've also enjoyed their tours in Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Thai Town, Koreatown, and Little Tokyo. When we asked for an accommodation, the security guard was rude and told us that if my son wanted water, he could walk all the way to the entrance every time, despite the distance from the bowling area. Hoping to resolve the issue, I spoke with the manager, Luis Gonzalez, but unfortunately he was just as dismissive and uninformed about autism and disabilities. Rather than listening and showing compassion, he was rude and unwilling to understand my son's needs. Businesses that serve families should make an effort to educate their staff about disabilities and neurodiversity. With autism becoming more widely recognized, basic awareness, empathy, and reasonable accommodations should not be too much to ask. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and unsupported. I will also be reaching out to upper management, including Cynthia Torres, to make her aware of this situation and to see whether changes can be made. As an autism mom, it is my responsibility to advocate not only for my son but for other individuals with autism and disabilities as well. No family should have to experience being dismissed or treated without understanding when simply requesting reasonable accommodations. My hope is that this feedback leads to better education, awareness, and compassion from staff so that all guests feel welcomed and respected.

Restaurants which used to be filled with families every weekend now slowly find themselves closing earlier and earlier. The strong community that once was is slowly starting to age out and be pushed out. Luckily, there are new businesses finding roots in this part of Los Angeles and Element Art Center is a great example of how arts and crafts can bring life back to a community. After making a reservation for one of their classes and being let into the building you can look around and see how much of this space is made for building, crafting, and designing. With classes spanning from ceramics to stained glass it is a safe space to let your creativity run wild or be instructed. The instructors are young and teach in a way that welcomes questions without judgment. They encourage your creativity but also provide gentle direction along the way. With supplies provided if you are a novice learning a craft it is an artistic adventure without the cliff falls of expenses weighing you down. If you take their classes that last a few weeks or a month it also gives you access to come and go to create at your own pace. Element Art Center is a wonderful time whether you're doing a solo trip or being social with others. This is the kind of business that bring traffic to a neighborhood and help sustain it. Hopefully, more spaces for art will pop down the line in Chinatown but for now, it's fantastic we have Element Art Center to hold it down.

The instructor was very helpful, attentive, and fun, engaging us all in conversation as we whittled/carved. All the tools provided were of great quality, and they offer a ton of other classes that also seemed really interesting, with one of the people in the class talking up having taken stain glass earlier. I went solo, as did several other folks at my table, so it was a good mix of individuals, couples, and groups all coming together for spoons! It was really fun and I'll likely be back, either to make another spoon or to check out another class.

Marlene was a delight, really funny and fun to be around, and she taught us a lot of fun, easy things to make! We chose her sushi menu, and that included veggie spring rolls with a dipping sauce, edamame, miso soup (so yummy! I want to make more RIGHT NOW!), a ton of different rolls and nigiri (with albacore, salmon and ahi, I believe), diablo sauce (the guys had fun trying to out spice each other), and a really, really delicious sake-based sangria. Everything we made was really yummy, all the ingredients were fresh, and Marlene made every really easy and fun. Also, it was very unexpected, but Marlene even washed the serving plates and glasses we had used during the class! I totally did not expect that, but was very appreciative that she went that extra mile to try to make everything (even the clean up) easier for us. It's that kind of service and attention to detail that makes me want to be a repeat customer. If the five of us had gone out for sushi and drinks, I guarantee that we would have spent a heck of a lot more, and not had as much fun or learned anything. Maiden Kitchen cooking parties are SO much fun, and I can't wait until I have an excuse to have Marlene back again and to try a different menu (she has so many awesome menus to try!). The best part was that we were each provided with the menu, ingredients, and recipe so that we could recreate the meal on our own! Marlene has such great energy that only added to the fun my group of friends was already having. She did not hesitate to jump in or answer a question anytime one of us shouted her name.
