I was very disappointed by the lack of understanding and accommodation shown toward my son, who has autism. My son only drinks water from a specific cup due to his sensory needs. When we asked for an accommodation, the security guard was rude and told us that if my son wanted water, he could walk all the way to the entrance every time, despite the distance from the bowling area. Hoping to resolve the issue, I spoke with the manager, Luis Gonzalez, but unfortunately he was just as dismissive and uninformed about autism and disabilities. Rather than listening and showing compassion, he was rude and unwilling to understand my son's needs. Businesses that serve families should make an effort to educate their staff about disabilities and neurodiversity. With autism becoming more widely recognized, basic awareness, empathy, and reasonable accommodations should not be too much to ask. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and unsupported. I will also be reaching out to upper management, including Cynthia Torres, to make her aware of this situation and to see whether changes can be made. As an autism mom, it is my responsibility to advocate not only for my son but for other individuals with autism and disabilities as well. No family should have to experience being dismissed or treated without understanding when simply requesting reasonable accommodations. My hope is that this feedback leads to better education, awareness, and compassion from staff so that all guests feel welcomed and respected. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at X Lanes Bowling. Our party of four paid for an hour of bowling. When we first sat down, our server greeted us but never came back to take our order for food or drinks the entire time we were there. Around 5:40 PM, I went to the front desk to ask if we could extend for another hour since we were planning to order food and drinks. I explained that our server never returned to take our order, but the staff at the front didn't seem to care and just said they were "full" and couldn't extend our time. There was no attempt to fix the situation or acknowledge the poor service. To make things worse, our lane time was cut off about 15 minutes early even though we paid for a full hour. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was that the server said he needed to hold onto my credit card to keep the tab open. I agreed because we planned to order more food and drinks, but given the lack of service, that felt questionable. I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on my statement to make sure there are no unauthorized charges. Overall, very poor service and a frustrating experience. Forgot to take more photos of the ambiance - I was having too much fun! However, my hubby found X Lanes via the Apple Maps search. This place was super nice inside of a plaza in Little Tokyo. It's located on the 3rd floor and there is parking in the structure which can be validated by the staff in X Lanes. I was very pleased with our time there - we made a 9 pm reservation and was able to add more time later. We ordered food - some hits some misses but everything was decent. Our party ordered mocktails and cocktails - the verdict on the drinks was half and half. I thought my mango mule was just okay. It was lacking the mango flavor. First time hear. What a great experience. I had no idea how big this place was. So many different things to do in one spot. Food: The food is not bad for a bowling alley in fact, I was impressed that they had pastas, salmon, steak skewers and many other options. I was impressed. I would go back for the food alone. Service: The staff was great and very attentive, polite, and quickly responded when you needed them. It was great! Atmosphere: Definitely a hangout spot. They have so many bowling lanes, pool tables, arcades, a full bar, extra couches and tables just to hang out at away from the bowling lanes. Everyone around us was having a great time, full of fun and great vibes. Price: The price was a little on the high end but honestly it's worth it. Interesting bowling alley with music and over 21 year old requirements after a certain time. They offer alcoholic drinks and bar like food. Great for big parties or groups. They do not allow baseball caps so leave it in the car. They will ask you to take it off and leave it the the table by the door read more

WARNING: NO HATS ALLOWED AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Honestly a rule that doesn't make sense to me because beanies were allowed but not baseball caps? You're required to either leave it at the front table or put it back in your car. They don't make it a priority to track whose hat is whose so many people's hats can get stolen. This is extremely inconvenient for people who prefer to keep their hats on or don't like their heads exposed. The full TSA-style security screening at the door was a surprising touch (usually a sign that the venue anticipates unsafe events before you even walk in). BEWARE For bowling, it's $15 for two hours including the shoes. The screens are very outdated and it's way too loud in there. I could barely hear my friends. Came here with my colleagues for happy hour and I was the second person to arrive to the place right when it opened. There is security at the front and they are a bit strict on what you can and cannot bring in. I was told to keep my pepper spray at the front desk. I saw a sign that didn't allow hats or baggy pants into the venue. Service was super kind and attentive. My party was running late so I asked if we can start later and the kind gentleman at the check in desk let us start 30 mins later. The place is filled with Th arcade games, bowling lanes, a bar and a place for pool and karaoke. After everyone arrived, we got our shoes and started our game! I noticed this bowling lane is quick with turns and collecting and redistributing pins which was a big plus. In 2 hours, our party of 5 was able to play 2.5 games. I wasn't the one who put the credit card down to open a tab so I can't really speak on prices but the happy hour deals were pretty good. We ordered fries, wings and pizza! It was quite decent for a bowling alley I must say. Some notes: - kid friendly. They have ramps and bumpers for kids who want to bowl. They also have kids sized bowling shoes. - parking is plentiful which is rare for little Tokyo! I absolutely LOVED the convenience of the parking structure. And the fact that this bowling alley was in a mall made it better. There were restaurants and shops to walk around in while waiting for my friends. - no bowling shoes in the restroom. After a few drinks, going to and from the restroom and having to change shoes each time was a bit annoying in my opinion. - they validate parking! Don't forget to ask the security by the exit for your checked in items you had to surrender at the door AND validate your parking! It was so nice to not have to pay for parking. Despite the dress code and extensive rules, x lanes is brilliant. Still needs renovation but the arcade decor helps hide the outdated restrooms and billiard area. The food is decent. I recommend the wings. The pizza is decent but everything from drinks to food are expensive but worth it. I posted a picture of the dress code policy. Please read and call ahead for questions. The security will check IDs and no outside food and beverages. The staff are usually attentive but you may need to approach them. I like the atmosphere. The crowd are usually well mannered. Whatever they're doing, it's working. Some arcade machines don't work but there's variety and usually update new games periodically. The bowling is affordable yet the pin machines may be problematic. 1-6people can play. Even private areas for events. Despite the obscure rules, this place is great for date nights, family, friends, and any small social gatherings. Be respectful as this is a decent local bowling hall. read more

This is a cute place and all but felt very run down. The games did not work as well as we wanted to and it definitely needed updating! It was pretty busy on a Saturday night when we went and we did have to wait for a few games but thankfully people don't hog games here. Our favorites were the basketball toss and air hockey games. The music they played was fun and upbeat and mostly current pop songs which added a great vibe. Parking is very easy in the mall here and once you are in the mall, it's on the third floor. They go through a pretty vigorous security check, which while was a bit more time consuming than we expected, did keep us feeling safer. It also could have been a bit cleaner there. Booked the large karaoke room for my birthday in February. Such an experience! Had around 20 people present for my birthday, we all had a blast. The drinks were a bit pricy, but where aren't they pricey? The food was surprisingly good for a bowling alley! We were a little skeptical at first, but they had some good food (this was before we started drinking, so no we were not just "drunk and hungry" lol) The large room was hidden so that was nice, at least no one at the alleys could hear our horrible singing voices haha. The room was clean, speakers worked great, songs selection was great, but if you're planning to come for karaoke, I would suggest knowing which songs you're singing prior OR book the room for longer than 1hr. Luckily I booked the room for 2 hours but I'd say maybe a quarter of that time was spent trying to choose which songs we would sing next. Overall the best birthday party I've had to date, and I have XLanes to thank for being so affordable and welcoming for my 30th. read more

The cool thing about this place is that parking is free with validation. They are pretty busy on weekends and they have a huge arcade area. They have security at the front desk to check your bag when you walk in. It's pretty affordable as well. I was able to get 50 credits for $10 Which gave us a good 30 minutes of playtime. The small cheese pizza gave us about eight slice slices and it was so delicious and cooked perfectly for only like $10. And for a lemonade was four dollars. I came here with my kids alone two kids and the staff is not accommodating. I had to go get the child's helper to bowl and no one offered to go grab it for me. I had to carry it across the whole hallway the whole alley and no one is accommodating here. Customer Service overall really really is bad. The security harassed me and threatened to deny me entrance because I asked him not to rub the metal detector wand against me. It's from my understanding that it should at least be two inches away from the body. I would have been fine if he treated me like everyone else but he clearly had a power trip.there was no need for him to rub it against me. Never once ever has any other place I've been to have I had the experience where they directly rubbed the metal detector wand against me.Not even in strict government buildings. In addition, I attempted to make a complain and it was evident that someone who wasn't the manager took the lead to cover for her co worker. This is ridiculous. You guys need to get a crew who is mature because these adolescents are presenting the company badly and ruining the experience for people. Worst of all they had their friends show up to harass me and my company. Even so as to throw gang signs and threats directed towards me. It was clear that the security did not enforce their no hats and baggy clothes policy amongst their friends. Evidently the atmosphere is very messy. Even so, the food was garbage. It was really greasy. Me and my company threw up all the food once we got home. I got diarrhea as well. Never again. This is one of my favorite multi-experiences! I've gone in the middle of the week with no reservations and I found Karaoke to be surprisingly inexpensive, 40 bucks for an hour and we got an extension for free courtesy of the wonderful staff. They have an arcade, bowling, pool, karaoke, & a bar! It's located on the 3rd floor of the shopping center and they validate parking for 4 hours. I also reserved bowling and karaoke for a friend's birthday party online. The weekend prices are expectedly higher. I'd recommend reserving in person if you can to avoid the online up-charge. They also require a card and ID for Karaoke to give you the mics but you get it right back and don't get charged. If you have the ability to go during the week i'd say take advantage of that. Pool is $20 per hour and you can only reserve it on the spot. We got food and drinks for 5+ people and our tab was less than 150 so not that bad for DTLA. Special shoutout to Jose at the front desk for being sweet and having good music taste, and our waiter Sean for providing a smooth experience! They deserve an extra compensation and a smile if you encounter them! Be prepared to be ID-ed at the door, this is my only downside. I was unable to go inside past 7pm because I lost my wallet and i'm under 21. I dislike being carded for an arcade that's pretty lame. They also don't let you enter any type of liquid or snacks (only a store bought cake WITH a receipt if you're celebrating something). So be prepared to get your bag checked at the entrance if you plan on bringing any type of food or drinks inside. They have a small table where you can leave and pick up your items but if you're iffy on this leave them in the car or just leave them at home. It's clean with a nice vibe and it makes a fun Friday night if you're up for it, the karaoke rooms are pretty bare but if you bring your own decor to make it pretty it looks nice! read more

I reserved a VIP room for my daughter's birthday, and within hours of booking we received terrible news about a family member and decided it would be best to just cancel the party. Parking: parking structure. Be careful not to go too fast or you just might miss the entrance. If you go to XLanes, make sure you get validation on your way out, because they will give you 4 hours of free parking! Security: You'll have to go through security to get in. No hats and your purses will get checked. Games: I normally just like to play darts here. Very cheap, only about $1 a game per person on average. The only thing gross is that the carpet is sometimes sticky around this area. Probably drunken spills. Pool is $25/hr. There is a small room with 4 pool tables and in the back I believe another...3 pool tables by the darts section. They took out the VR stuff and brought back more pool tables. Bowling...I'm not sure. There's plenty of video games and even picture booths. Drinks: I think they're normally priced. I belive its a bit pricey for a pitcher of beer, from what I hear, but I don't drink it, so I can't really comment too much on it. I enjoy the cocktails. read more

I had my birthday party at X Lanes LA on a Thursday night when the place was practically empty. Only three lanes total were being used, yet this was the first bowling alley I've ever been to where you're not allowed to simply hang around the lane. They told me only six people who were actively playing could stand near the lane. My friends weren't even crowding the lane. They were just standing nearby so we could talk between turns. The manager came over and actually shut my game down. When I asked him to explain what the issue was, he gave me a vague answer about "disturbing the lanes," even though there wasn't a single group bowling near us. When I asked again because I genuinely didn't understand, he got rude and said he could just kick us out. That was his "solution." I've been to plenty of bowling alley birthday parties where there were ten people at a lane and only four were playing. That's the point of going: it's social. Especially considering the place was not busy at all, this rule and the way it was enforced made no sense. If you're looking for a fun, relaxed place to host a group, I'd recommend going literally anywhere else. read more

My friends and I decided to try Xlanes since it was a middle point between our locations. I have been in this plaza many times for the market, taiyaki stand and Play Kpop Boba Shop. The times I've been here, I've never really seen the place packed or anything despite it being a weekend. This time we went on a Wednesday night during the summer. There were some other people playing on the lanes but the arcade itself was pretty empty. The clerks at the counter were very patient with us being a party of 6. We also decided to order pizza and drinks to accompany our bowling time. The food was large portioned and was delicious as well! After bowling, we decided to hit up the karaoke. The room was large and well air condtioned. This was great especially with the amount of jumping and dancing that we did. We were able to add on extra time to our session as well. I believe with validation, we were able to get 3 hours free. Keep in mind that they do bag checks after a certain time and water bottled are requested to place held at the check in area. I think this a great place to stop on by in the area. I think it's a great value for a clean space. I do hope that there is more to do in the plaza in the future. So much fun and so hidden! My family rented out the private room with 4 bowling lanes and 4 couches, & we bought platters of food and drinks. We were accommodated politely by the staff here....at first, we, a party of 25 ppl and over, were the only ones here! Then, ppl started coming! Parking was underground and free for 4 hours with validation! We had such a good time! We all bowled and ate, then, moved to our karaoke room which was lit and the biggest karaoke room! My company hosted an outing for the LA office here (about 30-40 of us) last night, so I can't speak for the prices in this review! We used one of the private bowling lane areas, with 6 lanes sectioned off just for us. I didn't know there was a bowling alley here, and I really enjoyed it! The venue is on the top floor of the mall, and it's HUGE, with a bar area, a restaurant area, sooo many lanes to bowl, billiards, a large arcade, and even karaoke! Our private section was excellent because we got our own space to hang out, a dinner buffet, and plenty of seating and table space, but it was just us. We got really into cheering each other on and celebrating, and it was a perfect team-building event. The food was good for a bowling alley buffet and the drinks were strong. Believe it or not, my fave was the salmon florentine, and we were offered a variety of pizzas, chicken skewers, salads, sliders, and pastas. Servers came to check on us frequently and were all very friendly and accommodating. Tip - They do have a security stand/metal detector, so they won't pat you down but make sure to leave your pepper spray, knives or anything else in the car. Once we payed and received our bowling shoes, we also ordered to food to have while bowling. The server who took our orders was very helpful and customer service was 10/10! There weren't as much people in the place which was nice because it was quiet and there even was an arcade on the side for extra fun! I enjoy this venue because of the bowling, karaoke and billards. However, as a school teacher, I prefer not to drink and "turn up" in front of children. Therefore, I booked the venue for my husband's birthday, after 7:00 p.m., because the venue has a policy that no children are admitted in the evening. This was not the truth. I bowled alongside five-years old children at 9:00 p.m. When our group departed at midnight, families with small children were admitted and processed. I guess children in our society are now considered small adults. Hence, they sit at bars with parents in restaurants and bowl at midnight. The venue now needs to remove the admittance requirement post because it is misleading. If you are grown adult, you will party alongside minors at Xlanes. read more

We called to confirm whether we could walk in and get a bowling alley, to which the staff told us yes. However, once we arrived 10 minutes later, they told us we had to wait 45 minutes... Also they have a "no hat" rule and you have to leave hats at a table near the security check in where nobody is watching over your stuff, so it's easy to get your hats stolen. We wanted to keep our hats with us and just not wear them... to which they said no. Never experienced this before at a bowling alley! All-in-all in a sketchy location on the outskirts of skid row with unreasonable security rules and incompetent staff. Do not go here!! read more
