At the sign-in counter the screen said, "No prescriptions available." The young woman at the counter told me it was an insurance issue and to check with someone else. That staff member informed me that "someone had already picked up my script." I knew I hadn't sleepwalked to CVS earlier that day so I was truly baffled. After being told a dozen times I had already picked up my meds, or someone had, I was almost in tears. It was surreal. Someone else told me they had to "run the CCTV footage" to determine if I--or "someone"--had been there an hour prior, stealing my rash cream and antidepressants. I left the store to give them a chance to watch their footage. I returned a few hours later, only to be told "I had already picked up my meds." I found myself saying to basically the whole pharmacy, "I'm the one with the rash! No one wants my rash cream!" Finally, they agreed to hand over my meds. Nightmare.

I always feel like I'm bothering or interrupting the staff but getting flu and COVID shots here is usually quick and easy. Otherwise, it seems more and more items get locked up. While I hate this because it's so inconvenient, I somewhat get it to prevent theft...although I'm not convinced people can't just steal anyway. BUT if you're going to lock serums and deodorant away, you have to have staff available to respond when customers request to see the items. Having to press the call button more than 4 times (minutes apart) is unacceptable. This has happened more than once. Is it understaffing? Is it that they just don't want to service me and I should take the hint? (They also don't carry shower caps.)

This chubby Indian guy rushed and urged me to pay, bcz they were closing and that yes I wouldn't have received my prescription today. He also passive-aggressively questioned why I hadn't downloaded the app. I thanked him for being dismissive and oblivious . To top it off, I noticed one of the tech casually returned to fill prescriptions after eating w/o washing her hands .

I've also had one of the pharmacists call the insurance company for me when my insurance wasn't covering. They have always made sure I know the cost and that I get the lowest price possible. There can be a long line but you can find times where it's not crowded.

I did see a bit of entertainment while shopping at Walgreens as a security guard caught a shoplifter who badly needed a visit to the nearest dentist asap . 4 stars on my yelp meter for a bit of fun at the local Philly Walgreens .
