I have been trying to get a hold of City Mac Bellingham for 2 days now...I've tried text, call, voicemail and Facebook message and I have still heard nothing. They currently have my MacBook and told me they would call me yesterday and I still haven't heard a thing. I need to know if/how much it will cost to repair my computer. I need it for school so I need a timeline ASAP. It's frustrating that nobody will get back to me. I am at a loss at this point. If I don't hear from someone tomorrow I will feel the need to drive to them and that is unfortunately a half an hour away from me. I wish i could give zero stars so alas i will give one. The staff here are very unprofessional. I previously wrote a review on here but i suppose my honest opinion on this establishment was too much for their yelp. i'll put it simply. Take your business to anyone but citymac. As the only "apple" store in Bellingham, i'm disappointed in the lack of professionalism in their staff. I've had many experiences with actual Apple representatives and they would be very i unpleased by the attitude of this staff. Either have a meeting on customer support or throw the whole team away and rehire. I will definitely not return and would like to warn others to not make the same mistake as me. Your best decision would be to drive an hour to the closest Apple store or send your repair directly to Apple, this store does not deserve business. read more

I bought my original ipad mini here in Dec 2012. I was very impressed with the level of service I received, as I buy all my Apple products directly from Apple online or the retail stores. I haven't been here in awhile, but I doubt I would receive a different experience. The employees were very friendly and the layout of the store is great. Took off a star because the location is really awkward, and they charge a restocking fee on returns and exchanges. While NOT being entirely happy about having to replace my iPhone - the costs, hassles associated with re-updating all those embedding pass codes and just being a slow technology adopter - it was time. The 3 year life span hit the proverbial wall. I COULDN'T be more delighted and simply pleased that I made the visit and made my upgrade through CityMac. The sales representative, Karissa, was on the ball and went to bat offering a competitive deal as she took the lead in helping out on all the upgrades as well providing a seamless integration of the phone experience from the old to the new upgraded phone. I was impressed and well as appreciated the sales members overall easy-going willingness to assist. The HOME-RUN occurred when Karissa recognized a billing error. Rather than just shuffling it as 'extra' in their side of the till she called to inform me of the error and reimbursed me - squaring up the final costs. True CHARACTER & INTEGRITY rises from opportunities and challenges seeded by missteps and errors. Humbly, I am deeply grateful as their actions embodied more than just a feel good customer service story but a commitment to do the right thing. PRICELESS. Took my 2015 Mac in because it was experiencing some trackpad and keyboard issues. I was initially given a quote of $50 for the cable the tech presumed I needed replaced. After running diagnostics, I received a call confirming it was the cable they thought it was--but that my overall total would be $250, due to labor costs. You should REALLY alert your customers about your labor cost upfront so that they can decide if they can afford to have it serviced. Super disappointing. read more

I have been to City Mac a few times and initially got wonderful caring help from the women who worked there. Today I dropped in with a question and was told they no longer deal with soft wear issues and I needed to call the apple company. I felt like I was being escorted out of the store even though I am sure the woman who was not there it seemed could have helped me. I was given all sorts of reasons why they no longer help with software and so I hung my head and left. Why be in business if you can not help people with their macs? It is not my fault they are cutting the business back. I just want to get my emails and so will need to look elsewhere - I see there is someone in White Rock so will try and go there after I get a Covid test and do the app. It is better than begging for help in a store that cant even take 10 min to help. And of course I would have paid for it but was not given a chance to try. City Mac you are very disappointing!!!! read more

I'm going to call this story "My Apple Nightmare" I purchased a new iPhone 7 Plus through AT&T on April 15, 2017. On April 25th, I started having an issue with any phone call sent or received. I could not hear the person on the other line unless the phone was on speaker or the sound was sent through a Bluetooth speaker. It basically was stuck in headphone mode without headphones being plugged in. I decided to take this back to AT&T as it was only 11 days old and I should be able to get it replaced. Right? Wrong. AT&T sent me to CityMac because only Apple can deal with malfunctions of their phone. Fair enough, I go to CityMac as it is the only Apple Store in Bellingham. After standing in line for about 15 minutes, CityMac sends me back to AT&T, saying it should be covered by their return policy. I go back to AT&T where they then send me back AGAIN to CityMac. This time their guy tells me that they'll take my phone. I'm told that the replacement phone would be the same. I leave under the false sense of security my phone is now in good hands and the issue should be resolved in a couple of days. A few days later, I have heard nothing from CityMac. I place a call to them and they tell me it should be ready by Monday. I'm feeling slightly irritated, but I can wait til Monday. Thankfully, I still have my iPhone 6, so I've been using it. Cut to 6 days later. Today. I get a call from CityMac requesting my permission to send my phone in to be replaced. "Um, what??". Yeah, they originally had ordered a part, but it took them 6 days to figure out that their company won't cover the repair, only a replacement. Again. "Um, what??!?" This entire time, I was under the impression my phone had been already sent out. This goat rope has been a complete nightmare. One spends $1k on a product, one expects that product to work, and if it doesn't, for it to be taken care of in an efficient manner and time frame. Am I the unreasonable one here?? Me thinks not. I usually don't leave reviews, so that is how unbelievable this horrible service has been for me. read more

I brought my Macbook in two weeks ago for a basic hardware issue. They called me two days later and left me a message to say that they needed to send it in to Apple to get it repaired. I called them back shortly after and to give them permission to send it in. They said it would be 5 to 6 business days. The following Friday I called and was sent to voicemail. They called me back and left a voicemail and said that it had been sent out and that it would be available the following Monday. I was out of town, so I called the next Friday and got a lovely piece of information! It had not been sent out! It was sitting on a shelf for two whole weeks . Even though I'd called and multiple times and had told me it had been sent out. But, nope! It was sitting on a shelf in the back. Their excuse was that there had been a miscommunication. I'm going in and taking it back to send it in to Apple myself because I want to KNOW and TRUST that it has actually been sent in. So, take your laptop here if you want to have it sit on a shelf for two weeks and not be serviced. Great storage I guess?? read more

I usually don't comment when I am dissatisfied with a company but I had to let everyone know about my experience with CityMac. I took my iMac in to recover some lost files at the Burlington location. The service tec informed me that they would to ship it off to their Bellingham location and it should be completed in 2 weeks. After 3 weeks, I spoke with the tec in Bellingham, he was still trying to recover the data and promised he would send me a daily email update. Another week went by, no emails so I called and spoke to the Service Coordinator who confirmed that they were still working on it. He refused to give me an estimated repair time but would have the tec email me with updates. He also waived the service charge for recovering the data. A few days later I received and email from the tec, indicating he was still working on it and would send another email in a few days. I never received the other email. I then called and spoke with the Service Manager who stated he would have to check into the issue and get back with me. He did not get back with me, nor did he return my 2nd call. I however did receive an email from the tec with a small amount of documents that were recovered. For security reasons, before I could obtain the recovered documents, I had to respond back to the tec via email. This was done immediately, but after 3 days I was not able to view the recovered documents. I decided to visit the Burlingham site and find out why I could not view the documents. Per the Service Manager, the tec did not follow up correctly, therefore I could not view the documents. He indicated it could take months to read all of the recovered documents and refused to give me a timeframe for the completion. After taking a few days to view the available documents, I realized what little information they actually found and it would take forever to find all the documents. I decided to go to Bellingham and pick up my iMac. WOW.......What a way to do business. I started with the tec and worked my way up to the Service Manager and still did not get my issue taken care of. My gut feeling was that since they were not going to get paid for the job, they worked on it when they wanted to......I could be wrong. Anyone who is thinking about using CityMac, please think again. read more

Came in with a data issue on an old 2008 macbook. ran into a keyboard issue that could very well have been due to the age of my computer that was very expensive to fix, but they found me an affordable solution by providing me with a big discount on a refurbished newer mac. It was a tough call but the store supervisor made sure I was taken care of and left the store happy and I'm sure he'll do that same for you! read more

After my computer started damaging everything plugged into its USB ports, I took it in to CityMac for repairs since it's the Apple authorized and certified repair shop in town. After two days of diagnostics they claimed they couldn't reproduce the problem and blamed my USB hub for the meltdown. Took the computer to the Apple Store down south and Apple diagnosed a failed voltage sensor in the logic board in less than 30 minutes. I left a bad review for CityMac afterward and (here's where it gets fun) the manager emailed me directly asking me to *retract* my review. I stand by it. These guys didn't do their job. read more

I appreciate that COVID has been challenging; however, not responding to voicemails and e-mails is unacceptable. Was told my beats were within warranty and they clearly were they shipped them out to be fixed then called me two weeks later to tell me that for some reason they wouldn't be being covered and it's $110 to repair the $150 pair of headphones. The bud simply popped out of the socket. Would have been nice to know weeks ago instead of being told the repair was going to be fully covered under the warranty. read more

I got an iMac G4 and since, two iPads from this place. They did all the transfers I asked from old computers to a hard drive in a timely manner for a reasonable price. I never ran across rude employees; new and therefore ignorant, yes but never intentionally rude. My mother inherited my G5s and an iPad from me, that she has since taken in or called in for help with when having trouble with them; they have always been able to take care of the issues in a timely manner and with such an explanation that her comfort with the new technology was increased. They really are no different than a regular apple store so their prices won't vary accordingly. read more

Been to the Bellingham shop many times. Love the new location. Staff is readily available and super helpful, not to mention they know their stuff. Upgraded to an iPhone there this summer and my experience was so much better than the Verizon locations I was used to dealing with. Haven't used their service/repairs department yet, but would trust these guys with my MacBook. read more

I've been to this newer location a couple of times and I've been happy to get what I needed (meaning they had it in stock). The service has been fine for me. Once I was sold the wrong power cord for my thunderbolt retina display, which was fine to exchange, of course, except that I have to drive an hour each way to get here. :) overall this store is way better than the actual apple stores I've been to, which are generally super crowded and ironically a confusing user experience. TD Curran charged me for a replacement battery and then forgot to place an order for it. No one apologized for the inconvenience, etc., etc. After a week and a half, when my battery was available, the "Apple Service Specialist" Kevin replaced my battery, but did not fix the bottom lining of the computer. Instead of fixing it, Kevin actually tried to tell me that the computer was like that when I brought it in. TD Curran told me my delivery would arrive in three days. It actually arrived ten days after. This place happens to be the only show in town when it comes to extensive Apple products. I'm guessing this is why it can get away with exceptionally poor service. TD Curran is the equivalent of Diet Coke compared to an actual Apple store. I would rather eat knives than go back there. read more

Exceptionally poor experience. I took an iPad in for a screen replacement. I was quoted a price that was reasonable and I agreed to the maintenance. After nearly 3 weeks, I hadn't heard any updates so I called in to check the status of the repair. The iPad had not been touched and was awaiting authorization for a new price that was more than $200 more than what was originally quoted. No phone call was made to seek authorization. Upon going to the store, the best the service tech could come up with was a passing "someone dropped the ball". There was no effort to rectify the situation, nor consideration for future business. Hopefully you might benefit from my poor experience and just make the drive to Seattle or deal with Apple directly. This place is not worth your patronage. read more

My MacAir stopped working so I took it to City Mac who had been helpful in the past. Upon arriving at the repair center and explaining the the keyboard had stopped working yet the on/off button still worked, the fellow behind the counter took my Mac banged on a few buttons and announced "It's the Motherboard, it'll cost you at least 800 to repair it get a new one. I suggested it might be water damage. He huffed took it to the back where I'm not even sure that they opened it and said "No water damage, motherboard is bad." A salesman came on strong to see if we needed help buying a new computer. We left and ordered a Mac screwdriver where my son opened it up, did a small review and noticed the connection was loose. Guess what I'm typing on it now. Terrible, Terrible service. Do not go to these people anymore. There are honest repair folks out there who give great advice and actually care about their customers. read more

Want to thank CityMac service department for their friendly and knowledgeable help. Purchased a used iMac at a great price from the store and had loud fan issues when I powered up at home. They tried to fix at counter but needed to put in a new (heat sensor?). Had to bring it back again because while fan never seemed to make noise at the store it did at my home. They took it in again and respected that it wasn't working for me even though the prob wouldn't reproduce at the counter. They found and fixed the issues and sure appreciate the 90-day used computer warranty and low price tag a found for this Mac. read more

This has to be the worst experience of my life as a Mac owner. I have been using Macs since the 80s. I am a teacher and have recommended many macs to many people. I would never recommend buying from this store or, more importantly, never have my mac serviced here again. They are much too expensive. For instance, to replace a hard drive, they charge $120 for the service when the Apple store charges $40 for the same service. And they charge double or tripple for RAM. Do NOT service your mac here. They misdiagnosed the problem with my mac after 6 hours of analysis. read more

I went into the store today with an old, damaged MacBook Pro with about 10 years of iTunes on it that won't sync with my iPod anymore, which I use in the gym. To make a long story short, Conor spent about 15 minutes moving the songs that were essentially stuck on that old laptop onto my iPhone, which I was afraid I'd lose when the MacBook craps out for good (we don't even use it anymore). I was really happy! When I asked him what I owed him, he said "nothing." Because he didn't technically "fix" the problem I wanted solved (moving the music onto my iPod, which apparently can only be done with third-party apps that Apple doesn't support), I didn't owe him anything. I would've been very happy to pay him for what he did do. I'll make sure to go to CityMac whenever I need to buy Apple products or have them serviced, and I'll certainly be happy to pay then, too! Had a few people helping me when an issue with my verizon account was preventing me from getting my first iPhone. They were all really friendly, and ended up dealing with verizon for me and figuring it out. They also helped me set my phone up and showed me some of the basics because I was just switching over from android. The store and the people seemed great, and I love my new phone! Haven't checked out all the accessories yet because I was a bit overwhelmed, but it looks like there's a lot to choose from. read more

They also unexpectedly have quite a wide array of other accessory options such as phone and laptop cases, headphones and speakers, too! Between Apple and CityMac I have never been so disappointed with customer service. My husbands phone's cellular stopped working and when we brought it into CityMac they said Apples having a recall on it and they'll fix it for free. So we had it sent in only to get a call from CityMac saying the screen was cracked (it wasn't) and do we want to pay $160 to fix it. We said can we just deny that and get the cellular fixed and so they sent it back. When we picked it up, apple hadn't fixed the cellular issue, the very corner of the screen was barely cracked and now the home button wasn't working and the whole phone wasn't working at all. It just says unable to activate. We've called Apple 3 times now and they've sent us to CityMac and we've called them and gone in 3 times and they send us to Apple. Very disappointed in this process! read more

Much improved customer service: Clearly some attention has been put on improving customer service here. Kudos to you TD Curran for cleaning things up in this way. My husband and I visited the store when it was on Meridian about 2 years ago and found the clerks to be unhelpful, condescending, and completely out of touch with the fact that it might be a good thing to connect with their customers on some level. We walked out of the store and swore we'd never go back, and never buy anything from them...ever. Comments made to us during our visit actually became ongoing jokes in our household and live on to this day. Considering our past experience, and reading the reviews on yelp, I came VERY close to going elsewhere to buy my new ipad, but decided to take a chance and pop in to the new store to see if anything had changed since they moved to the new location. As it turned out, it seems it has, at least as far as my recent experience indicates - for the better. I went in twice in the past week, working with two different people on the sales floor each time. Both were lovely and I couldn't' be more happy with my experience. It seems as if it's possible that management/owners took notice of some of the reviews or other feedback they were being given and responded by putting some attention on creating a more positive customer service experience. I am really glad I decided to give them another try, and won't have a moment of second thought about returning in a few months when I'm ready to buy a new laptop. A little hard to get a hold of on the phone to schedule an appt, but once that was done, the service was great. I needed a new battery for my iPhone and they replaced it at a very reasonable price and in the time they said it would be done...dropped it off and picked it up 3 hours later.
