We've never had an issue with City Vet until recently--and unfortunately, this experience was deeply disappointing. It all started when a front desk staff member called to say our dog's medication was ready. We were confused, since no one had informed us what it was for. We had submitted lab results days earlier, but received no updates. A voicemail came in with no explanation of the results, and when I stopped by to pick up the meds, I was still given no clarification. My wife called to ask for the results, and was told the vet wasn't in--but that a note would be left for a call back. A full day passed with no response. When we followed up, we were placed on hold for ten minutes. After calling again and asking to speak with the office manager, the situation escalated further. The office manager was rude, dismissive, and even raised her voice over the phone. I overheard the conversation and was shocked by how unprofessional she was--especially when she ended the call by hanging up on my wife after she asked for the corporate number. An hour later, we finally received a call from the vet, who provided the lab results. She admitted someone had deleted the callback request. Then, to top it off, she told us we could no longer return because she "needed to protect her staff." We weren't listened to, we weren't heard, and we were treated with total disregard. Extremely Disappointing Experience--Longtime Client Let Down I've been a loyal client of this clinic for years and have spent thousands of dollars here, but my most recent experience left me deeply disappointed. When I calmly pressed for clarification and accountability, Ms. Beasley became combative and eventually hung up on me after I requested the corporate contact information. I recorded the entire phone conversation and have submitted it to corporate for review. What's most disappointing is how the vets chose to defend the staff rather than listen to a long-term client's concern. Carlene (or Charlene) misrepresented our interaction--I was not rude, threatening, or inappropriate in any way. Since the new office manager took over, the clinic's quality of care and professionalism has noticeably declined. We had previously heard concerns in the community about how African American clients are treated at this location, but unfortunately, we now have our own firsthand experience. There are many other veterinary options in this area--some more affordable and far more respectful. I've filed a formal complaint and hope this review encourages others to speak up. read more

We normally go to the Frisco location, which is great, but my dog gets really car sick and Prosper is closer to us so I called this location when my dog started having stomach issues. I was able to get her in quickly and we saw the traveling vet who happened to be on duty, I believe it was Dr. Johnson but don't quote me.. She was absolutely fantastic. She was able to get tests done with quick results, gave my dog proper food and medicine to help get her stomach back on track. They treated her with such love and care. From the receptionist to the assistant to the doctor, we had the best experience. They were thorough and so professional. We did a visit with Dr. K for another pet and she was also wonderful. They really took the best care of all of us. We found our new vet place! read more

I had an appointment on 9/23/20 at 5:30pm for my 1lb Yorkie who was going to get his 8 weeks shots and I fed him before taking him. They gave him his 2 vaccinations he needed. We weren't told what the vaccines were for. Not even the receipt at the end we were given had the names of the vaccinations! Nobody explained anything or recommend to keep him hydrated, make sure he's reacting well to the vaccine, who to call if he isn't reacting well to it. NOTHING. All we were told was " he's gonna be sleepy" so we let him rest. I heard a cry I never heard from him before so I went to go see if it was him and he was just sleeping. 5 min later I wake him up to see if he's thirsty or wants to eat so I put him in front of his bowl and he lays down. I thought he was just tired since we were told " he's gonna be sleepy" so I went to go sit down with him and he's falling asleep in my arms with his head facing up and he starts to cry in his sleep and his arms curl up! I woke him up quick and he seemed fine. Then I stand him on his pee pad and he falls SIDE WAYS as if he died!!! We looked for a syringe to give him water and his tongue was BLUE/GRAY and his gums were the color of his teeth!! If it wasn't for that syringe I found he would have died. He's very small and I'm not sure if they overdosed him. Even the vet technician told us she was going to ask the vet if she wanted to give him vaccines since he's so tiny. The vet was not informative at all and her attitude didn't make us feel welcomed. I will never take any of my dogs here again. read more

We were clients here for a couple of years and loved Dr. Michael. Unfortunately, he moved away and sold to Dr. K. Since this, we could never get help with our dog without spending thousands on unnecessary testing. I felt more like a source of payment than a customer. We also had issues where we paid $500 for testing and the test results were mixed up. We never were refunded and they never redid the test but instead told us we would have to pay again. Also, the vet suggested against supplements to help my senior dogs well being. After spending thousands, we had no results and no treatment. They didn't seem to care. If you want a Dr. who truly cares, I would go elsewhere. We should have left as soon as Dr. Michael sold to Dr. K a few years ago. read more

Initial visit to address kidney failure with the Dr. was fine. In our second visit we were turned away as we needed emergency assistance to have him evaluated before deciding the inevitable. Terrible customer service by the vet technicians and front desk staff. Will not be returning. read more

SCAMMERS! This place will do nothing but squeeze money out of you. I never leave bad reviews like this but I truly believe you should be able to take your furry family members to a vet you trust - AND THIS PLACE IS NOT THAT VET. I have been going here for a year and finally switched over to a different vet who's pricing is much better for standard items (visit fee, heartworm meds, annual visit, etc.) Not only that but I have got real advice from this new vet and not just being pushed to paying for extra items just to get simple answers. Also, got straight up lied to saying that something was a state law that they were charging for/ forcing me to do and low & behold... it's not turns out. AVOID! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

I have to give this vet a shout out. My dog, the love of my life, has been super sick. I tried calling all the local vets because ours was booked until next week and she needed something sooner. We had been turned away by many saying they aren't accepting new clients or they were booked out for a week. The emergency Vet clinics were booked solid and couldn't help either. We had been turned away by everyone. I called City Vet and they could hear my desperation and scheduled me for 2 days out but said they would call if something opened up sooner. I feel like businesses and doctors always say that but rarely do they ever call back. City Vet called me the next morning and offered to get me in first thing that day. By this time we had already found an ER that could take her but it spoke volumes to me that, when they had a cancellation, they kept me and my sweet corgi in mind. They were very empathetic as well. I can't say enough great things about this location. They are always so helpful, happy, and informative. Most importantly they treated Blue like their own. I had a great visit recently at this location! I didn't have an appointment but spoke with several of the gals there and they seemed to really enjoy pets and that means a lot to me! I saw they have a grooming area available but was only in to pickup some food for my lab. The food pricing and selection was perfect for my family's needs and I will be booking an appointment soon! So COZY! Glad to have a great spot right off University! read more
