When I arrived today, Aracely had decided to do a mandatory $75 pre-fix buffet without notifying those, like myself, who had made a reservation ahead of time. When I told the manager that this wasn't going to be feasible with our budget and that we are really upset and disappointed to arrive on Mother's Day for our brunch at our favorite restaurants only to find out we can't enjoy ourselves here. The restaurant asked us to confirm our reservation yesterday and didn't say anything about this expensive buffet. The manager called the owner and the two of them defended the restaurant and told us that their hands were tied and could not do anything for us. I told him that I had been coming here and bringing customers to the restaurant for the past ten years and he was unmoved. We left and don't plan to ever return. Instead we went to Mersea, the other wonderful restaurant on Treasure Island. We paid $15/meal for their delicious Mother's Day menu and enjoyed views of the city and amazing live music there. Highly recommend the unpretentious experience and chill vibes of Mersea rather than wasting you time and money at Aracely's Cafe.

It's pretty spacious inside and also quite lively compared to the other tasting rooms on the Island. Vie shares an outdoor space with Sol Rouge Winery right next door. Their patio has a bocce ball court and a few chairs to lay out on white you're sipping on your wine. It's the perfect hangout spot on a warm summer day. Vie's tasting menu consists of 5 tastes of their current selection for $15. They specialize mainly in reds and red blends which is what they're known for. They did have one white wine on the menu which was a Roussane that I really didn't care for. It tasted like a beer which I found extremely odd. However, I was really impressed with their red blends. Their bottle prices are actually pretty reasonable, and if you don't want to purchase a bottle, you can always buy wine by the glass. Service from ". " was excellent! For a paid, ticketed event costing $80+, that's completely unacceptable. If you're selling tickets, there should be some reasonable relationship between the number of people admitted and the actual capacity of the courts and venue. We waited around for about half an hour but ultimately left without playing anything and without even getting a drink. The most frustrating part is that none of this was communicated beforehand. Had we known that buying a ticket effectively meant standing around for hours hoping to get a court, we never would have gone. It felt less like a properly organized event and more like they simply sold as many tickets as possible without much regard for whether attendees could actually participate. Extremely poor planning and a terrible customer experience.
