The furnace in our rental until went on the fritz while we were out of the country. We had our go-to HVAC guy out initially who immediately said the whole unit needed to be replaced. I called Citywide to get a second quote and am so grateful I did. They offered a fix at less than 10% of the cost for a new unit. We have 2 furnaces and 2 air conditioning units. And right when the weather is bouncing back and forth between cold and hot, one of each had a problem. I called Citywide Supply and Service and spoke to Mitch Moore Jr. Mitch was great and he was out the next day to look at the problems for both units. He let us know what was wrong and we scheduled the repairs for a few days later. It rained the next day so his outside job was cancelled and he called to see if he could come over to fix our problems. Mitch and his assistant Al were soon over at our house and fixed both problems within a couple of hours. I needed a new limit switch for the furnace. I called Citywide and Mitch found the part quickly and even had a version with a manual reset built in which will make things smoother. I had some issues with the install and when I like Mitch know, he was at my house within 20 minutes tools in hand. I'm writing this review at my husband's bequest, because most of this occurred while I was asleep :) Came home in the middle of a week with temps in the 90's to find our AC making a horrible noise. Citywide came through. On a Sunday morning, my thermocouple died as it always does on a Sunday morning. I was able to replace that but in the meantime something else broke. It was something I knew was broken and knew how to fix but it wasn't a common part. I ran and shopped 5 hardware stores and finally turned to the internet for some help. I found Citywide searching Google and yes, it was a drive but they were open and were able to help me find the part. Plenty of advice and very patient. I've had two difference gas furnaces stop working on me for the same reason: a cracked igniter element. These parts only cost about $30 and are almost as easy to replace as a lightbulb. If you get a service to do this, it's going to easily cost you $250, and more likely $450. Thanks to a great business like Citywide Supply & Service, I was able to get the part I needed late at night and for a fraction of what a repairman wanted to charge. I had the same exact situation as the other reviewer. Incredible service in 2010 - I had a bad experience with one heating company and then Citywide came out and were friendly, honest and reliable. They corrected the situation and I was one happy customer. Perfection. So why the 2 stars? Fast forward to a chilly Sunday November afternoon 2012, my heat goes out and I called and left a pleading message over the weekend. No return call. Called them Monday mid-morning and left another message. Then, finally reached someone at 12 PM (still no heat by the way) and I said "I was wondering if I should call another heating company and make alternate plans since I hadn't heard from you and it's seriously COLD in here" to which he replied "yes, why don't you". I spent hours searching Yelp and Google Maps for HVAC supply stores and none of them would take my money (i'm not a contractor or wholesaler). I found this place, and while it is way out of the way, they actually would sell me a part for my furnace.. The shop/storefront is tiny and very little to it, but it doesn't matter. They wanted money, I wanted a part, so it was a good match. On a related note, i'll never understand why so many places have in big red letters on their website that "We do not sell to the public". My AC unit went out and I needed a new capacitor. I called citywide and asked if they had this specific capacitor and they said yes but we won't be open until 11:00 am even though they claim to be open 24 hours everyday. The part costs $14.95 or lower everywhere. I sent someone to get the part while I worked on the AC. When they got there the owner said they did not have that part and the only one they had was the larger one and that it cost $58. When they came back with the part I looked at the bill and thought there must be some mistake. The part goes for a max of $17.95 at any shop. I thought it must be a mistake and they charged for the box of 5 price and called them. They claimed that was the price and then proceeded to accuse me of wanting to return it because it was the wrong part or something. No I was fine with the part just not the price. They said they do not accept returns and he went on a rant for a long time. When I said do you think it is ok to charge 3X-4X the price for a part he said that was fair retail even though there website says open to the public at contractor prices. He then proceeded to hang up on me mid speech. read more

Wow- I am so impressed by the service I received last weekend from Mitch at CityWide Supply and Service! My AC wasn't working properly despite spending $600+ with another heating and cooling vendor less than a month ago, so I called Mitch on a Saturday around 11am, and he was at my place my 2:30pm! I am sitting in a warm house grinning ear to ear as I write this! Our furnace stopped working two days ago, and the temp quickly dropped to 50 in the house. We called the company that had recently come to service our unit that we found through our neighbors recommendation. A tech came that evening and told us the inducer motor froze up and would need to be replaced. The estimate the tech wrote up was for $715...no break out for the part or for labor to install. We called the company the next morning to find out again what made up the total amount and the manager told us they just give a flat rate. Huh? No thanks. A little web surfing and found Citywide. Veronica was extremely helpful, called me back to say they had the motor in stock, part was $167 and would be a cinch to install....ourselves! And she was right, took about 30 minutes to replace and get the furnace back up and running. We will be using them to service our furnace for both our house and condo from now on. May be ok for house calls but don't try to buy parts from them... I called during business hours yesterday they said they would check to see if the part was in stock and call me back. 24 hours later without heat and no call back. I figured being 9 degrees out they may be busy and from the website there is photos of store front showing a banner above door stating open 24 hours and open to public. Drive 40 minutes there to find door locked at 3pm on a Thursday with a note saying open by appointment only... get back in car call them he forgot to look it up and threw away his note with part number. Told them I just drove 40 minutes and was outside and they said to give em part number again and they'll call me back later.... needless to say we'll take our business elsewhere. read more

I wish he would expand his services beyond AC service / repair and water heater replacements with more offerings; however, anytime I need something, I try him first. Extremely professional, flexible, timely. Very blue collar service, but I love it because they aren't fluff...they are here to get the job done, earn and honest living. They don't upsell or overcharge, and Mitch will let you know if it's not within his expertise. We've had a couple of hiccups, but he always makes it right, even if he has to give me my money back and do it for free. Sometimes I beg him to do it anyway, but he'll be the first to send me to Four Seasons or one of the bigger companies (that always upsell and overcharge) if he can't do it. Citywide helped install a new AC system in my vintage building. I needed very specific equipment and some custom work as well. Citywide was the lowest quote I got when compared to 4 other companies. Citywide responded quickly and was able to get a new system installed within 1 week even though it was 90 degrees and in the middle of June! Mitch and assistant worked quickly and did a nice job. Mitch Sr. is easily accessible and will talk to you with any issues/concerns-definitely a family business. My one complaint is that the business itself is not very organized regarding paperwork and scheduling, so there was confusion on that front for me.
