Civil Goat Coffee is a cute cafe in Austin with great lattes and tasty eats. I went with a large group and their outside picnic tables were perfect for accommodating us. There is also a small dog park right next door, so that kept us entertained throughout our visit. Since I used their QR code for ordering, which was attached to our table, I didn't have much interaction with the employees. But my order was ready quickly and delivered to me smoothly. I ordered a small hot latte with honey and the Smashed Avocado with added poached egg. I was very impressed by both of these items! The latte had perfectly steamed milk and just the right level of sweetness. And I always appreciated beautiful latte art. The toast was super satisfying and it incorporated a variety of interesting flavors. The walnut pesto and balsamic glaze gave the dish a zesty zing, but it was balanced nicely by the avocado and expertly poached egg. Great salads and teas. But absolutely maddening experience on almost every visit. Run out of things early in the day. Get served in plastic, not glass. Self-service ordering, via an ordering platform that takes substantially more time to figure out than had they taken our order themselves. (We ordered two things last week (which we've ordered often, for years) and the staff needed to help us with both, which they acknowledged was confusing on their platform to even them.) All easy fixes, but they seem to be working towards a less customer-oriented experience. Please raise prices rather than degrade the experience. We want you to last for the long haul! read more

Not sure why it's taken me so long to visit civil goat. The avocado toast is stacked, so fresh, and delicious! I'm trying to lower my coffee intake so I ordered a decaf + it was perfect! Most decaf coffee from coffee shops taste like burnt beans but Civil Goat's coffee was very smooth. I sat outside to do some work since the weather was nice that day. Went looking for a coffee and breakfast place near Univ of Texas baseball stadium- stumbled upon this local place and man, I'm so impressed with my order there: iced latte (their coffee beans made it so unique and tasty!!!) and croissant with eggs, avocado, and bacon and a bit of honey. I ordered the sausage one but they said they r out- I was little disappointed but that one with bacon was EXCELLENT! Definitely will come again and order the bacon one from now on! I met a friend here for a late lunch, coffee, and some WFH. We drove there separately but both got spots in the parking lot out back. I also know there's free parking in the neighborhood. We found a table near an outlet, and although the table itself was pretty small for laptops and food and coffee, we made do! Drinks came out quick, and food took maybe 10-15 minutes. My latte was tasty, and I was pleasantly surprised by the green eggs and ham. While there are now two Civil Goats in East Austin, drive the extra ten minutes and come to this one instead. Why? There's a private lot (albeit small, but I've always had luck finding parking), plenty of outdoor seating options to choose from (shaded spots, tables on the dirt, patio seating, or wide-open under the blue sky) plus a fair amount of indoor seating as well, and even a dog park! Sadly, no actual goats at this location. They serve both food and drinks, but the few times I've had their lattes, they are pretty much standard for good, but the food... unreal. I constantly rave about how addictive their specialty Soft Scramble is. Their Soft Scramble ($14) comes with buttery scrambled eggs with chives, a refreshing arugula salad, and a protein of your choice. No question, GET THE HASH-SAUSAGE!! I never order scrambled eggs at restaurants because my thought process is: I can make them at home...but Civil Goat broke that rule for me. Also, I'm a big fan of the Cuerny Sam ($12) when I'm craving the perfect breakfast croissant sammie. Went on a weekend morning and service was super slow, I probably waited 30 minutes just to put my order in at the register. My honeydew fizz did not really taste of honeydew and only tasted of matcha which would have been ok if I didn't pay $8 for the seasonal drink. Parking is available behind the building but the lot is such a tight squeeze I would recommend street parking instead. There's limited seating inside but they have a large fenced in yard and patio space. I saw lots of dog owners letting their pets play together which was super cute. read more

The manor road establishment does not have the actual goat however this settles my dogs who like coming with as I enjoy great coffee, amazing breakfast sandwiches, and relax as I people watch with a book in hand. Civil Goat Coffee on Manor is a cute lil coffee shop that is perfect for a study date or quick caffeine boost. The inside was very cute and great air conditioned for a hot summer morning. The food items were pretty substantial as a meal. Definitely more filling than a simple pastry, which they also had. We ended up getting the Cuerny Sam's and found them quite taste. I enjoyed the added honey more than I thought I would. The coffees were also deliciously made and tasted high quality. The only con is it's pretty expensive. Might not come back super hungry as 2 egg sandwiches and 2 coffees were over $40. Looked like a pro tip is to get bird bird across the street and pick up some coffee. The servers were also very nice. One of them complimented my jewelry which was much appreciated. They were quick and efficient. We also beat the rush showing up at 10:30 on a Sunday. Pretty cool little neighborhood place.. I don't think it has been open very long. Good selection of snacks, lite bite's and coffee make it a good choice for something different. The flys get pretty challenging outside but I think that is most of texas and not unique to this place. Civil Goat makes their avocado toast consistently well. I love the little sprouts for color, and the texture and seasoning is always on point. I've had their breakfast bowl as well, and their soft scrambled eggs are some of the best I've ever had. Coffee-wise, you can't go wrong with any item on the menu. I personally love the London fog latte, chai latte, and iced vanilla latte. The branding is so cute, and all the employees are really nice and helpful.
