Lovely cafe. This is the first time I have been into Palomino I know they have another location on East Austin. Love all greenery and cool arches, walls carvings. It was very very busy on the weekend in November. I believe they just opened recently so that explains why. Got a really tasty decaf cappucino and they also have some pastries from Sour Duck. There is a decent amount of seating, not enough for the amount of people who come by that weekend tbh. I hope they add more if the demand is so high. Its very busy so not that great to sit down and study or read. I'd come back when the crowd is less intense...

The newest Palomino Coffee location is gorgeous! Service was friendly as always and the vibes are definitely great at this location. So much open space for seating and music is not too loud where you can't have a conversation. The pour over coffee and chai lattes are always a go to here so if you haven't had either or, please do try them. 5/5 location. Parking could be a bit better but otherwise it's a great spot to read, catch up with friends, or just have a nice caffeinated (and non caffeinated of course) drink

I will say the aesthetic is breath taking upon walking in. Palomino is in a new location and defiantly brought the old location vibe but on another level. As you enter you are filled in a green escape in a unique design that you can tell was made to make you talk. I ordered the fig latte with almond milk and four shots along with a toaster strudel. Before I got to order I will say as In any true Austin gem style there is a wait. I do encourage you to enjoy the ambiance view the items on display as you wait because it's a wait. It's everything to do with the buzz around their new location and so many curious visitors. All in all the staff is super engaging, kind and a pleasant in making conversations and answering questions. Now space...as it look extremely large the back area does have a roasting room so just beware as it's a community driven focus coffee shop seating can be sparse at times. I highly recommend adding this to a coffee rotation visit for Austin. I as an espresso lover can never stick to one spot for to long as I feel every place has a different flavor to offer.

Tried the sesame latte and blueberry matcha. Does not stand out. Artificial flavoring is strong, staff wasn't the friendliest. Ambiance is very cute and service is fast but we were very underwhelmed. Will not be back again, plenty of other options in austin!

I live in the area and frequent the original Palomino Coffee location regularly. I feel like they were constructing this new location for several years, and I always kept an eye on it, hoping it would finish soon so I could check it out. Well, the day finally came! As soon as I saw they had officially opened, I raced over there to check it out. TLDR: cute vibes, good coffee, not enough outlets, and closes at 2pm First and foremost: FREE PARKING! Love to see it. I quickly found a spot by the front and headed inside. I ordered a latte and then attempted to find a spot near an outlet, seeing as my laptop had less than 10% charge. There are lots of seating options, but not many near an outlet. A few were near an extension cord hanging from the ceiling, but those only had 2 prongs, and my laptop charger has 3 prongs. I finally found one near a wall and dragged a chair up to it and sat there. A bit awkward, but it got the job done! Once my laptop reached sufficient charge, I moved to a regular table. I think the seating options are so beautiful, by the way! Stunning pieces of furniture and diverse options (long tables, benches, individual chairs, etc.). Also, I absolutely LOVE how the decor matches the decor at the original location. Lots of white, lots of plants. Great vibes inside! I highly recommend checking it out, but come with an external battery or fully charged, because you likely won't be near an outlet. Wifi password: TammyJean

Beautiful coffee shop with amazing decor, plants, pastries from Sour Duck, as well as a table of delightfully curated local gifts and goodies you can peruse while you wait in line. Lots of seating areas for a chat or work space.

Palomino opened a new location, and it's absolutely gorgeous. They make such good use of the space, and it still pays tribute to the style and aesthetic of their original location. I came on a Saturday morning, and it was really busy. I loved that friends and family had chosen to come spend the first weekend after their opening here because it had such a nice community feel. There are lots of seating options, and it's a really nicely lit space. Their staff is so friendly, and I enjoyed my seasonal fall + matcha latte! I asked if they could make one of their seasonal drinks with matcha, and the barista happily agreed. The next thing Palomino has to do is open a location up north!

Searching for a coffee shop close to where I was picking up breakfast, I decided to give Palomino a try. I came on a Saturday morning in early December and it was crazy busy. So busy I wondered if I came during a grand opening weekend. But I lucked out and found parking so I decided to stay in line. Props to the workers for their hard work and friendliness. Very nice, large interior filled with plants you can purchase. To make my wait worth it I purchased two seasonal drinks: the snake bite and a decaf pumpkin latte. One flavor in the snake bite syrup is ginger so I expected, and looked forward to, that flavorful bite of ginger, but I could barely taste it. The flavor overall was pleasant but there wasn't any "bite" to it, and not enough of it. Sweetness was good as it wasn't too sweet, but the strength of the flavor wasn't there. The pumpkin latte flavor was dull as well. The decaf espresso tasted sour in this pumpkin latte as well. The to-go cups are cute rounded bottoms and the ice cubes are large, which I liked. The parking is not good. There's a few spots directly in front, then the parking stretches towards the back towards other businesses. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff, but the coffee was underwhelming.

I got the black sesame matcha, and I thought it tasted pretty bad! The service was not great, which is crazy for having to spend $8+ on this little matcha. I did hear the coffee is great though, so try the coffee drinks if you go to Palomino, and the seating area is pretty if you just wanna go to a pretty cafe!

This location is now softly open (Oct 2025). Such a beautiful space and delicious coffee! Very friendly personable baristas as well.

While exploring the many museums across the University of Texas campus, a quick caffeine break was needed for my girlfriend and we were overwhelmed by the number of options on The Drag. It makes sense that there are plenty of places to choose from because of the large number of UT students. Everyone needs a little coffee in their lives. One of the highest reviewed ones with a large pool of ratings was Lucky Lab Coffee and after checking a few quick reviews, we decided to give it a chance. Lucky Lab has five locations in Austin (four on campus) and one location in Dripping Springs. The one we were at off The Drag was their flagship. This location serves a little bit of everything from sandwiches to pastries, salad to quiche, and of course, coffee. As we walked inside the flagship, it is easy to notice how tight the space is. There is very little seating inside at their bar, but they make up for it with plenty of shaded outdoor space that is perfect for a nice day. Scanning their menu, we landed on some drinks from their winter menu. I was intrigued by their Pomegranate Rosemary Latte while my girlfriend tried their Ginger Spice Mocha. We got them both iced. First, it is interesting to see the fusion of pomegranate and rosemary in a latte. I was intrigued by those flavors. Their drink sizes are 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz, each adding an additional 50 cents to each upgrade. All milk alternatives cost 1 dollar. It was only a short wait to get our coffees and the cup with the little lab on it was cute. I think specialty drinks have an opportunity to be amazing and one of a kind or the worst drink imaginable. This pomegranate rosemary latte did not fall into either category exactly, but leaned more toward the latter. I love pomegranates and I always appreciate how earthy rosemary can be in a coffee. One of my favorite lattes I have ever had has rosemary in it. This was just not working for me. I shamefully did not finish my coffee. As for my girlfriend, she did not like her ginger spice mocha. I could not imagine gingerbread syrup not working in a mocha, but after trying it myself it was not for me either. It seems like a perfect match, but here the gingerbread is competing with the chocolate and instead of complementing each other they clash. She told me that the flavors were "un-mocha like". She drank less than half of her coffee before tossing it as well. Neither of us wanted to dislike Lucky Lab. They seem well established and I felt like they were trustworthy based on reviews, but I wonder what these previous reviewers were tweaking on or what magical concoction of coffee granted from heaven above they were sipping on because we were distraught by how disappointing these drinks were. I would like to give Lucky Lab Coffee Co the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe the specialty drinks were not up to par with their traditional beverages. However, the almost 30 different syrup options on their wall make me feel they lack a little focus and try too hard to stand out. They lose what makes a coffee good, which is coffee. I want to say I will give them a second shot in the future to see if it was just an off day or a bad beverage pick. Too many shots turns a Lucky Lab into Old Yeller. The lab needs to be put on a leash before I think about returning. RIYL: options

We've been wanting to check out this shop for quite sometime and finally had the chance. From the minute we walked in the door the vibe was on! Our barista, Litsa was incredible! She was fun and bouncy and had so much positive energy. She even helped me create a concoction of sorts. Like most, lavender is my go-to. But, I also wanted toasted marshmallow and so I was torn. She suggested a combo of the two for my cappuccino (with oat milk of course). Wow! It was spectacular. I was so beyond miserable when I walked in the door (the rain) and she turned things around for me within 30 seconds of interacting. Her positivity and kindness were through the roof! My cappuccino concoction...so good I think it should be a menu feature! The banana guard iced latte my boyfriend got was equally as delicious. It was like an ice cream treat for grown-ups. Everything about the shop is so welcoming. Warm lighting, comfortable seating, and spacious. So much for the eye to take in as they have offerings from local artists and craftspeople for sale. A mini store if you will. All lined neatly on wall hanging shelves. They've got candles, pottery, jewelry, clothing, etc. All the goodies you'd expect to find at a gift and craft, artisan shop. Fitting since the drinks they put out are liquid art. Since it's about a ten-minute walk from home, it'll definitely be a new stop when going to the pet store. Wonderful experience on a dreary day.

The only thing is that it is very pricy and I didn't get an itemized receipt in the text, so I'm not sure exactly how much the drinks, tax, and tip were. I liked this place, and would come back in the future!
