Courtney is a genius. I appreciate having someone who knows about hair, has experience, can do all the cool trendy stuff, but respects my budget and preferences. I had some grown out highlights-gone-wrong (did 'em myself) that I had someone try to fix (low cost) and I just needed a touch up. Honestly, I forgot what it was like to have a beautiful job done on a foil (aka highlights, whatever you wish to call it). She listened, and worked her magic then gave me a great haircut. You know that feeling when you leave a salon and feel so cute? You'll get that at Eden L Salon. (Don't overthink it- Courtney is the owner/stylist, her salon is named Eden L). She's trained among the top bug name salons, she's smart and funny and really kind. I so appreciate not spending the visit with a hairdresser trying to nonstop sell me stuff, I find that exhausting. I waited for 40 minutes outside the salon, I knocked several times, called several times and no answer. I drove downtown and paid for 3 hours of parking. I loved the location and liked Courtney quite well. I was given a Groupon for my birthday and was excited for a new do! When everything was said and done, I did NOT get what I paid for. After paying an additional $180 on top of my $200+ value Groupon, not to mention the huge tip I left in lieu of a follow-up appointment to finish, I left feeling hurried away and disappointed. My apt was at 10AM, I received a message that she was running late, which was a none-issue at first. We then pushed it back to 10:30 then until 11. Fast forward to 11AM and I am still waiting for Courtney until about 11:15. This wouldn't have been any issue had we not run out of time- resulting in my receiving a prompt send off when her next client arrived. I knew this process would be a 2 trip ordeal which is why I opted to pay the additional $180. However, when following up I was offered 10% off my next service and I could come in so she could cut my hair at no cost. Speaking of, I never received a hair cut during my visit, only a quick trim!! No style, just a blow dry. While I did arrive needing grey coverage and darker ends that needed to be lightened then highlights/balayage, $500 should have gotten me a new style at the very least and highlights other than bright orange tips. At the very least a second appointment to finish the services, even if there was a slight cost owed. 10% off though after leaving $100 tip towards both appointments. I got screwed, lesson learned. This is not at all disrespecting Courtney or her time or talent, I just wanted to meet in the middle somehow and to be fair to us BOTH!! I've never spoken ill of others, I work in Customer Support and felt this needed to be addressed as I made several attempts to resolve this. read more

I booked with a Groupon, Eden L Salon is now Civility and Sway. It is not located in Bellevue and is now in downtown Seattle. Trying to reach the salon was impossible/felt like a black hole. I called multiple times leaving voicemails and did not receive a call back. I tried contacting through the website which says it will text and email the salon for a fast response, I did not hear back. I booked online and was told that my appointment was pending, but to book I needed to give my credit card info. If I did not show I would be charged 50%. I went at 1 PM and no one was there and could not reach anyone at the phone number listed on the groupon or listed on google. If the salon is not available to accept bookings they should not allow someone to make a reservation. I wasted a lot of my time in the process unfortunately. read more

DO NOT BUY A GROUPON FOR HERE. I learned how unethical Groupon is through my experience with Courtney. The reviews on Groupon are screened. Like a few people here, she essentially ghosted me after she said it was okay to reschedule my appointment (thought I had COVID at the time). I tried to reschedule several times. She either wouldn't respond or told me she was booked that day. I tried to get a confirmation on one appointment but she only responded after I told her I was cancelling because she wasn't confirming the appointment because I couldn't get a confirmation from her. I told Groupon about my issue and they said they verified with her that she still honored Groupons. I pointed out it was unfair to take her word over the customers. They didn't care. Thankfully I was able to cite other reviews on here to prove my point. They gave me Groupon bucks. I still think I deserved a full refund. Still pissed I spent all that time trying to schedule with Courtney and then trying to get my money back. I'm going to pay full price and skip the Groupons from now on. I ended up going to Mint Hair Studio and would highly recommend their stylist, Lisa, to others. read more
