It's not always easy finding a good plumber and I've encountered some passable ones. This time it was a really great experience. I never actually expected to get someone to come out same day for something that wouldn't qualify as an emergency. I explained my project and that I already had the new replacement, I just lacked the ability to repair the issue myself. I had a pretty bad tub backup a couple months back. Gave CJ Plumbing & Heating a call, and they were out the same day to have a quick inspection. Reviewing the plumbing in my house, they noticed I had a drum trap and recommended that I replace it with a P-trap to help prevent the tub from backing up. Lenny was great, he was informative and explained the pros of replacing the drum trap. As the inspection call was late, Lenny came back the next day to replace the drum trap with a P-trap. Really appreciate the excellent service provided by Lenny and both Dmitris! I got a price for service over the phone. Not the cheapest but very competitive with reputable companies. Lenny the plumber arrived during the 2 hour window I was given and phoned in advance when he was on his way. Service needed was new toilet installation. Lenny noticed a leak and took a video for his office to help with troubleshooting. But it was a defect in Kohler toilet and I used the video to make a warranty claim. CJ Plumbing recommended a replacement toilet that we purchased that evening and plumber Dmitri came the following day to install it. I have only one bathroom I rely on, work full time and have a myriad of health issues so this is more than an inconvenience for me. Don't trust this business to show up. read more

CJ Plumbing came through for us quickly and perfectly, even over a weekend leading up to the Winter Holdays. We had an awful burning plastic smell start coming through our house and wondered if it could be the furnace or something plumbing-related. We found them through a search and called on a Sunday. We spoke in-person to Dmitry and got service set up the following Monday. Lenny was our plumber, and he quickly diagnosed our issue as a failing sewer ejector pump. He had all of the materials ready to go on his truck at a reasonable price and was able to do the job in only two hours. He also helped out with improving the shower flow in our main bathroom and replacing the batteries on our sump pump backup generator. I know a lot of people are going to balk at a labor rate of $275/hr, but CJ Plumbing was incredibly responsive and efficient. Also, the whole cliche of "you can pay now or pay even more later." I read reviews of plumbers serving in Highland Park from several sources. On "Yelp" and other sites I read that CJ Plumbing Serving Highland Park, with the owner named Dmitry, was reasonable and helpful. I was very disappointed about my experience. They charge $275 an hour, minimum charge it seems is $275.00. The shower faucet had a slow drip. I contacted Delta Faucets and they sent me a replacement cartridge for free. CJ Plumbing sent out a plumber who took apart the valve and put in the new cartridge. He noticed that another part needed to be replaced so the repair would last. That took him perhaps 30 minutes. I did not know which part he needed but I was told he could find one and he bring it by on the way to or from work. It sounded like a simple matter. After a month I received a call that they were able to get the part. They said it took them a lot of trips trying several supply houses to find it. They never contacted Delta which I had told them had the replacement parts. I asked if there was a charge and was told that the part was only $10 but they had to charge for one hours labor since they had to locate the part. It took the other plumber perhaps 10 minutes to replace this small plastic piece. I was charged another $275.00. I also realized that instead of spending a month's time looking for the small plastic piece- for $13 they could have purchased a new handle and just pushed it on. As nice as the people were who came to my house, I still cannot recommend CJ Plumbing. read more
