Great food and nice atmosphe. The chili was fine. Had a lot of large tomato pieces that were easy enough to pick around. BUT THE CORNBREAD...wow. Do yourself a favor and order the chili just so you can eat the cornbread. It was fantastic. Also, they have Diet Dr. Pepper, which I appreciate because I hate coke. They don't have a fountain but they are in plastic bottles.

While being out of town, I was trying really hard to stick to my diet and to my surprise not only do they have over 30 flavors of syrup, they had a huge, great selection of sugar free syrups, I ended up with a nonfat Sugar Free Toffee latte and it was heaven! My friends tried some pastries and were very pleased with those as well. We were there for 3 days and went every morning we were there. I can't wait until I'm back in town for another show so I can pop in! I highly recommend!

I go to CJs coffee all the time! It's so good! However, a few months ago I ordered a 14oz ice coffee at the Sherman location and the cup they gave me was so small. I left thinking maybe they just made a mistake. Went to the other location in Denison and the same thing happened. I normally get the bigger size. Today I went to the downtown location and ordered the 14oz again. Still tiny cup. This time I questioned the size of the cup and the barista said it was 14 oz. I went home and measured it out of curiosity and it's 12 oz without ice. So with ice, the coffee content is less than that. The 2oz makes an obvious difference and comes down to lying to customers. This is a problem in each location. Great coffee but that is disappointing. read more

Love this wonderful cafe. We were in town visiting and decided to venture out and find a cute coffee shop. I can't say enough good about this place. The coffee was out of this world and the smoothies were delicious. We also tried the ham and cheese kolache and it was fresh and fabulous. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. It's such a cute place, and the staff was so nice and welcoming. We loved this so much, that we came back every day that we were in town. My only complaint is that we went on Sunday and it was closed. Our hearts and tummies were so sad. However, when you are in Denison, this is a must stop! Don't miss it and run to get there. We stopped for fuel on our way to Arkansas, and were headed to Starbucks when we saw CJ's. Always preferring to shop smaller and independent businesses we made a beeline. I got a simple latte. My husband got a honeybee latte. Shazam! The honeybee is wonderful! Tastes of honey and vanilla. Sweet but not overly sweet. My simple latte with a touch of honey is smooth and creamy and just so delicious! This was such a fortuitous stop. Highly recommend them. What a wonderful local coffeeshop. I come here every time I'm in the area. They have a variety of coffees, food, and pastries. They have tons of seating options, both in doors and outdoors I ordered the iced lavender latte. Quite good. I would have asked for light milk next time, but that's because I usually drink black coffee. I've also offered just a black iced coffee. Very tasty and not too bitter. Their cakes are so good. Definitely worth trying when in the mood for something sweet. If you order to go, and bring your coffee cup sleeve back you'll save 25¢ next time. Love that! read more

Both the Sherman location and the newest in Denison are at the top of my list for coffee. A better choice for a grand cup of coffee. The pastries are delish both places. The Denison has a full kitchen and dining room with farm to table freshness. Not inexpensive, but generous portions. Fresh salads are my personal choice. read more

Barista is well trained, reminds me of where I'm from (Santa Barbara) actually I was surprised because the pictures on yelp are not accurate... they must have done a complete remodel. the entire theme & decor reminds me of what's trending in SB now so I felt at home & came by every morning for the last week. My fav was the "meadow" ( lavender vanilla latte with a splash of honey) yummmm! Needed some lavender in my life. I like the punch card & discount for returned coffee sleeve. Super cute. The sofa area was just the best spot to catch up with my family. The staff was well knowledge on the item selection , everything is homemade , & I believe as organic as it gets in the area. I've been coming to CJ's ever since they opened! Of course they have The Best Coffee drinks in town... but you can truly pick anything off the Menu. It's All Good! Some of my favorite's are the Mocha/ PB protein Shake. The Taco Salad is delicious, and for a little something sweet ( but you have to get there early , because these go quick!!, definitely try the Chocolate Brownie! You will not be disappointed! ) CJ's is perfectly tucked away on Main Street in Downtown Denison. For added enjoyment, they have quaint bistro tables and Umbrellas for your enjoyment on nice day! If you love quaint lil cafés with amazing coffee, come here! This sweet spot not only has good coffee and creative sandwiches, the servers know their stuff. The young lady who took our order let me explain the type of coffee I drink at home, recommended one here and it was probably the best match I ever had in regards to coffee. I had the Turkey Breast sandwich and a "Shot in the dark." YUM! read more

I really enjoyed my latte. It was lavender flavored. I also really enjoyed the patio since my husband and I were traveling with our dog. However, the breakfast sandwich could have been better. The croissant was extremely cold. It was weird eating hot eggs and sausage in between a cold croissant. We're spending a few more days in Denison, and will be going to other coffee shops now In hopes of finding a hot breakfast! read more

I have always come here for their Monster Bean Frappe (which is awesome!!) but allergies are messed up and wanted something hot. Tried their Peppermint tea. It was awesome. Suggest it for something to help open your head and soothe your throat. read more

We bake all our bread and pastries in-house every morning. This includes making our own dough from scratch; we don't get shipments of frozen (or even fresh) dough that we then "bake." Our dough is made from scratch at 4:30 a.m. every morning, so you get only the absolute finest. Our fresh-baked pastries include scones, muffins, kolaches, ham & cheese croissants, and our famous cinnamon rolls. We've also got salads served with our oat wheat rolls, as well as favorites such as our meat and cheese boards, comforting pot pies, and quiches. We are located in the historic district of downtown Denison and have customized the old greyhound bus station into an urban design modern coffee house.

They updated the inside a few years ago and it's got white subway tile and a modern feel to it. It's a great vibe and one of my favorite things about Nick's. We feel at home and comfy there. This place is busy for weekend breakfast service. Be prepared to wait a little bit! It's a very popular local breakfast spot!

It didn't get soggy or taste any less amazing when we got it to where we were going. Didn't even get a picture because we ate it so fast but I'll be back for the appetizer sampler. Kitchen needs to work on getting food out and timing, for example my burger was not hot, my wifes was, my tots had obviously sat while my wifes fresh chips got fried. I live exactly 2 blocks away and we ordered food to go. We left the house at 5:33 and got home at 6:17, no side trips or extra stops. I really like the owners and the staff is attentive. We waited 1 week after the re opening to go in. They will get the kinks worked out and the flow moving in the kitchen. Still a local spot that deserves your business. Down to 3 stars this time, hopefully more next time in.

Country Java is a one of a kind dining experience. The great staff is friendly and caring. They have the best smoothies around and a great selection of coffee drinks. If you want to try something different check out their Italian sodas. Not only do they have a great beverage selection they also have a fantastic assortment of soups, sandwiches, and salads all of which are superb. If you are around Sherman or Denison you have to stop in you won't regret it and you'll make some new friends in the process. read more

This is our weekend treat, The service is so kind and remembered us the 2nd time we visited, the reason why I noticed this is because I have many allergies and told them I was allergic to buckwheat flour and asked if their bread had it in there, the assured me they did not have buckwheat in their bread.. I recommend the meat and cheese platter, feed 2 people and the bread is so sweet and hot.. I crave it... hubby gets the baked oatmeal and the kids get the strawberry cake for 2.. CJs Sherman has an exceptional atmosphere that's super inviting and hella chill. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I asked Danielle to surprise me with a drink (which I know for a fact is annoying for someone to ask) and she served me an insanely smooth and flavorful latte. Love it! The quality of their espresso and the baristas who make it is stupendous. I live in the town nearby, but I'll drive all the way to Denison to get their coffee. It's worth the drive! The coffee shop in my town (Durant) has failed me multiple times... the owner is horrendous. I will never return. But THIS place is fantastic! Always friendly! read more

I went earlier this week one morning and it was super busy in the drive through. This made me go inside. The lobby area is super cute and comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and moving at a nice clip because it was busy. Loved the iced coffee I purchased and am looking forward to going back to sit an study in a nice atmosphere. read more

I love the place! It's a nice little cafe wgere the workers always seem to put customer service at the top of the line! There is an outside patio in the front and sometimes local musicians will play there. The aroma it gives off is great and the aesthetic is even better. I would definitely recommend CJ's to anyone. :) read more

I have only gone through the Sherman drive thru and only have had black coffee and baked oatmeal. I can honestly say the coffee is the best I have ever tasted, way better than the over priced swill they serve at the national celestial money chain. The baked oatmeal is unbelievably good. I highly recommend it. read more

What can I say, first off who is Starbucks? The coffee here is probably the best I've tasted! It's not over brewed and the flavors blend so well that you find yourself craving more and more! The food selection is great as well you get your money's worth! read more
