I could have gave another star if the waitress gave a damn about her customers. Waited an hour to get our food that was actually really good, but the service and attitude of the help is horrid! Typical bar type scene dirty and dusty. Wings are good don't get the ice tea or sprite. read more

Very nice place on the inside. Not very impressive from the outside. I had wings, chili and the CJ Burger. Wings were decently spicy, chili was good and the burger was also good. Nothing to write home about but, I have had much worse. It was cooked medium with pink in the middle the way I like it. They had one of my favorite beers on tap, Big Ditch Hayburner IPA. Service was good and timely. Lost one star because they didn't have fresh jalapeños only the canned ones. I would go back if I'm in the area. read more

Great little bar/restaurant other than the non existent social distancing. Husband and I spent a long weekend in Weedsport and this place was half a mile from our hotel. Stopped in Friday evening after getting settled at the hotel. We parked on the street in front of the place and there were only 4 other cars parked so we were very surprised when we walked in and found the place was packed (40 people maybe?). The next thing we noticed was that the only masks we saw were worn by the two women behind the bar. However, one of the women was wearing hers over her mouth but under her nose and kept pulling it down and leaning forward to speak to customers which sort of defeats the purpose of wearing one but okay. We decided to just leave our masks on unless we were taking a sip of our drinks. Some people looked at us like we were weird but that's okay, we'll be the weirdos without COVID-19. The first night we ordered a BLT w/ tater tots, and a hot roast beef sandwich w/ mashed potatoes. We got it to-go (seemed like the best option, considering). They don't have to-go utensils so when I mentioned being in a hotel they sent us off with some silverware. I will say the food was very good, tasted fresh, and was still warm when we got back to the room. The second night we went out to dinner in the neighboring town of Auburn with some friends but we all stopped back in at CJ's for some after dinner drinks. This time we followed the lead of the people we were with and parked in the back. Aaaaaah, now we knew how there could be so many people inside yet so few cars out front. It was the same scene as the night before but even more people (50 people this time?). Not a seat available in the whole place and again not a mask in sight. As people left tables and others sat down at them there was no cleaning, let alone sanitizing, between customers. We stayed for a few and socialized with some of the locals. About half the folks were wearing snowmobiling gear. Weedsport people are nice, I'll give'em that! The third night we stopped in a little early in the evening to grab something to take back to the hotel and there were only about 8 people there. We ordered 2 orders of chicken tenders (which were very good, I must say! But odd that they were served on a bed of tortilla chips??) and we each had a beer while we waited. As we were sitting there I did notice there were condiment bottles on the bar (ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper) every 4 feet or so that stay out for use by customers. Most places, since the pandemic, only put condiments out once you've ordered food and they're often single use, for instance ketchup packets vs. a communal bottle. But not this place. They really seem to be functioning as though there isn't a pandemic going on. We also saw a jar of something labeled "Cuomo Pickles" and when we asked what they were it was explained that they were so you could "order food" to be in compliance with the criteria for drinking in a bar during the pandemic. That made me a little sad. My final thoughts about this place are that the people were all super nice, it was clean, and the food was really good. We would have stayed longer each night and spent more money but we just weren't comfortable with how lax things were. I'd love to give this place 5 stars but due to the non existent Covid precautions I can only give 3. read more

Took a nice Saturday drive to weedsport to Lukenheimers for a good beer and wood fired pizza only to find out their pizza oven was down for the week... someone else at the brewery mentioned that CJs had wood fired pizza so we ordered some pizza from them to have with our beer, Not as good as lukenheimer but not bad either- super generous toppings, very thin crust- almost creamery- not cheesy with black bubbles like a good wood fired pizza but definitely passed the finicky 12 year old test! - read more

We stopped here because it was close the to highway we were driving through and wanted a sit down meal instead of the fast food the highway rest stops have to offer. The food was mediocre at best and anything that was put in a fryer had a hint of some disgusting taste that we couldn't pin point, but we decided it tasted most similar to ham. Maybe the fryers aren't cleaned enough? The tenders and french fries were not amazing. I did also order a sprite to drink and thought the syrup was out because there just wasn't much of a taste to it but it turns out it wasn't out, their sprite just isn't very good. The waitress did offer me another drink. Other people in my party who ordered things that weren't fried did enjoy their meals though. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. She gave good conversation. However, the vibe isn't as much of a lunch type of place as we were hoping. That could have been us not doing enough research on the place, but I wouldn't go here for lunch if you're passing through. For the bar aspect of it all it looks like your standard bar nothing too special. It could very well be an amazing bar, but if you're looking for a food option I wouldn't go here. read more

Randomly stopped in when visiting the area. Food was great and staff was friendly. Wendy is great.

We were on a motorcycle ride up to Sylvan Beach so we stopped in for a break. The bartender called hello as soon as we walked in the door. Good selection of beer and liquor. The place is old but clean! It was quiet at the time we stopped in but seems like it's a good local bar. Will make this one of our regular stops on our trips up north! read more

Doing the Geographical Bachelor this week and after checking in to Yelp to review local establishments on where to eat while in Weedsport I settled on CJ's. Tonight was a soup, wing and beer night...impressed. I agree with the other review...totally a bar that just happens to have good food. The beer was REALLY cold, the French Onion soup was tasty while the wings were meaty and on point. I'd recommend CJ's. As a matter of a fact I am going back tomorrow night for the $5 beer & burger night. Friendly and fast service, reasonable prices and COLD beer....nuf said. Give it a try! read more

Tuesday and Thursday's they have a great $5 burger and a draft....delicious!!! Great sports bar with many T.V.'s to view all sporting events. Very good wings with tasty sauces to pick from. Great place for a fun Superbowl get togather. Live music most Saturdays. read more
