Bernard, the owner & President came out Saturday following the storm and found the leak right away. Despite being a small job, he promptly submitted a proposal. After other companies came out, I hired West Oahu Roofing. Bernard also sent his carpenter to look at a corner of my home subject to rot due to rain/moisture. I was contacted by Isaac who made an appointment to inspect my roof within a week. He arrived on time and inspected my roof. He provided me with a detailed quote a week later as promised. Very professional. He did advise me that they were not necessarily the cheapest but that they do good work and stand behind what they did. I subsequently got contacted and received quotes from several other roofing companies. Some of the other companies i contacted did not even bother to respond. Eventually I did select a different company than Surface Shield based upon price and since my job was only repair work. However i was very impressed with Surface Shield and Isaac and his sense of urgency and professionalism. Billy looked over the roof, gave me a proposal that same day, and started work the following week. Our new roof was power washed, repaired, and properly sealed in about 3 days! I reached out to social media to see who has done work on roofs in my area, and I was suggested to reach out to Phil. After reading some great reviews, I reached out to them for a quote through the website form. This is where the problem starts and where I, as a customer, start making judgements on this type of service as it is a huge amount of money I might be spending, and I'm very careful with this type of transaction. Impress me early on, and you will have my business. After my online inquiry was not answered after a full work day, I decided to call the next day. I forgot who I spoke to, but she said she would leave a note for Phil to call me back. I waited 2 days and called again,he was now on travel! Being patient, I say just bad timing. I did want to go with this company, and they were on the top of my short list, but they are throwing huge red flags my way just for a quote! A couple more days go by, and I call again, saying I'm still trying to get a quote. This time, I finally spoke to Phil about the work I was looking to get done, and we scheduled a day for him to take a look at the roof. Finally! He comes by and inspects the roof and the damage. I tell him what work I want done and want quotes for separately as there's multiple avenues of approach I'm thinking if I do have to spend out of pocket. Phil said he would reach out to me next Tuesday with quotes. Unfortunately, the quotes never came, and now I'm tired of playing this game where I have to initiate the contact as the customer.
