After the $76,000 roof was installed in December 2025 I noticed that the gutters were leaking. I immediately called and texted Aaron to please come take a look. That text was sent on January 4. For the next three months I got nothing but excuses and a disgusting photo of his infected foot - apparently the reason he couldn't come look at my roof. Finally, on March 27 some guys were sent to repair the leaks. Cut to August 16 when the gutters blew off. Again, I immediately texted and called Aaron who told me that "unfortunately, this was not covered under my seven year warranty because it was an act of God." First, I reviewed the contract which did not state the exclusion. Second, I asked Aaron how he could possibly know that it was neither a manufacturing or installation issue when he hasn't even seen it. He told me the owner of the company would call me. That was a month ago. No one has ever followed up. Both my husband and I have called and texted countless times - at least 10. This company is unreliable and shady. Do NOT use them. They will take your money and walk away without standing behind their product. We paid almost $80,000 to be ignored. If you live in Hawaii you need a reliable roofer. M&R Roofing is the WRONG choice.

The recording at the # just says "telephone # 808-xxx-xxxx can't take your call now" but doesn't reference the name of the company or any person, and I've looked all over the internet, and even on Facebook, for an alternate phone # to SOMEONE, but I always get referred back to the same phone #. I'm glad I didn't spend part of my life savings on a new roof from this company. What if I have problems after the work is done and I can't get anyone to call me back? Oh well, there are a lot of roofing companies on Oahu who want my business. I'll just just move on.

Bernard, the owner & President came out Saturday following the storm and found the leak right away. Despite being a small job, he promptly submitted a proposal. After other companies came out, I hired West Oahu Roofing. Bernard also sent his carpenter to look at a corner of my home subject to rot due to rain/moisture. Billy looked over the roof, gave me a proposal that same day, and started work the following week. Our new roof was power washed, repaired, and properly sealed in about 3 days! We really appreciated him reaching out so quickly and trying to right the situation. Looking forward to having them come out! We purchased a house and inherited an unfulfilled contract between ourselves and Kapili. There has been very little communication from them about when they are actually going to show up. They have been "rescheduling" and giving us the run for over a month now. We try to call and get answers and they either do not respond or are very delayed in their responses.

It was completed in about 3 days, though there was follow up inspection and a correction of some work done, so it took about a week. They cleaned up every day when they were done. The initial inspection was complimentary, and they took drone footage at that time as well as footage at each step of the way. It was interesting to see my house from above! I think maybe my only disappointment was that initially, I had opted to get the highest grade shingle but resorted to the medium grade. The initial inspection was done in March and the job took place in August, so I would have thought that 5 months was enough time to order the materials and get it shipped, but was instead told it would take until the end of September to come in, so I just went with the medium grade. I would highly recommend Kapili to anyone who needs a new roof!
