    The two windows
    Atyttrium I.

We had Clarity windows installed a few years ago. Good windows, installation ok, although they destroyed the wiring for the alarm system. Recently I had them come out because there was a small leak that could have been the window. The person that came just glanced at the window and it was pretty much "Nope, it's not the window. Bye". I had someone come and remove the sill and trim around the window. Then just used a hose to see that indeed the window seal was broken and was the source of the leak. Also discovered that the window and the one next to it were installed upside down. The leak needed to be fixed now, so rather than fight with Clarity over warranty, I just called someone else to have the window replaced.

Screw in the base of the window (hard to tell from the photo but screw is installed vertically.). It's the same on the other side.

I had all my windows replaced with Clarity windows in 2008. They really looked nice. However, over time seals failed and when I went to look at the warranty, I found that my "lifetime" warranty was pro-rated. So, after 15 years, it would only cover 25% of the cost. I also had paid extra to have a wood look finish on the interior and that is all peeling off (I actually open and close my windows). And, one of the windows was always a little sticky getting up and over time it could no longer be opened. Rather than replace bad windows with more bad windows, I am slowly replacing them with Pella windows. They were replacing one today and they said that the Clarity installer had put screws in the base of the window and that's something you should not do because any water would flow down and that could cause a leak. So, while I didn't think I would have to replace these windows so soon, I'm at least glad I did given that potential issue. Update to Owner's response item by item: 1) I did double-check the warranty I was provided and the owner is correct that the pro-rated amounts are for transfer to a new owner. I tried to upload a photo (likely not allowed cuz it might be of copyrighted text), but the warranty doesn't cover labor after the 1st year. It seems that you all were aware of the lower quality and problems with the Alside windows and thus switched brands. That certainly benefits new customers, but leaves those with Alside windows in a bad position. I've added a photo of the problem with the wood overlay, both in a window that I hasn't been replaced (that one no longer fully closes so you can't see the extent of the peeling) and one we just removed. 2) Correct. I did not contact Clarity after reviewing the warranty and seeing that the majority of the windows had problems. As I said, I did not see the point in replacing windows that weren't good quality with the same thing. I'm writing this review to help others in their decision to install new windows. In terms of customer service, when Clarity became aware of the frequent problems with Alside windows, contacting customers that had those windows installed and making them aware of your willingness to help (e.g., cover part of the costs) could certainly have helped. And, I do hope that the brand you're using now is a better quality (although there still might be the issue with regards to the installation). 3) I saw myself that they had put screws into the base of the windows. And, I've uploaded a photo of a window that hasn't been replaced that also has screws in the corners of the base of the window. You can see all the dust/dirt that could reach that area, so water easily could. [Note: that area is covered with a panel that was easily removeable and does not provide any sealing per se of that area.] I also saw that they had hacked away at the window header to make one of the windows fit and then covered that with a flat piece on the top. That made the measurements Pella did inaccurate. They could not fit the window they ordered as they did not want to further reduce the size of the header. So, they have re-ordered that window. I do understand that wouldn't have worked for the windows Clarity installed since they weren't really custom but rather stock sizes that were made to fit (that's why I had a very wide separator placed between the two windows in my breakfast area that really blocked the view).

Clarity Windows installed all new windows in our home. Jon Craig was our salesman, and was wonderful to work with! Very knowledgeable, informative, and suggested several things we didn't think about. The installers, Steve & crew, were great. Covered everything, cleaned up, and answered all our questions during the install. All around, a great experience, and would highly recommend!!

We are absolutely pleased to recommend Clarity Windows and Doors if you are wanting new windows. We have lived in this house for 41 years, and we had the old builder grade windows with chipping panes. Brock Squier came by to explain our options and answered every question we had. We were so pleased with his presentation that we signed up with them 2 days later. Our new gorgeous windows were installed last week by Francisco and Jacinto, and we LOVE them! When the crew left that afternoon, everything was clean. The service and communication with the office were exceptional. Then today, because we were unable to climb up to reinstall our window blinds, Clarity sent out two wonderful service reps who put back all our window treatments at no charge! James and Lane were so nice, and I just had to write to compliment them all, as well as Ryan Pollard, the Production Manager and Autumn Hamn, their Assistant. We love Clarity Windows and Doors!

We just finished the second half of the house so now have brand new Anlin Del Mar windows throughout the house. No more crappy old builder grade junk! Working with Clarity Windows and Doors could not have been easier. They are truly customer focused, upfront and honest, and deliver on their promises - these guys just don't make nonsense promises they can't keep. Proof of this? On the day of install they proactively pointed out a scratch (that I never would have noticed) on one of the windows that was delivered to them, and submitted a warranty claim to have the glass replaced. Once again Kyle was fantastic to work with as our sales rep, and this time Arturo and has crew handled the install. Not sure it was possible, but it was an even better experience for phase 2. The house already feels warmer and better insulated in this winter weather, the windows look fantastic, and they work! Clarity finished the first phase of our house at the end of December 2020. Originally planned to get at least three quotes but after Kyle came out to consult on our project and we drew our own comparisons to the Pella consult, we decided we didn't need a third quote and went with Clarity. The windows (Anlin Del Mar) are fantastic, and they look great. Can already feel (and hear) the difference. Communication from start to finish of phase one was brilliant all round, and Jesse's install crew did a great job (city inspector was impressed with the quality of the windows and the install job too). Very pleasant and easy to do business with. Would recommend to anyone! I know one of those photos is a tree, but the pic was taken from inside the house after the new windows went in. Just for some Clarity.

The products and installation were generally professional, but important gaps only surfaced once decisions became final -- when flexibility was gone and costs shifted to me. For context, this project included a bedroom patio door, a side entry door, and replacement windows. This review isn't about bad intent. It's about where education and expert confidence end -- and where homeowners need to slow down and verify assumptions. The videos genuinely help level up homeowners. They explain terminology and common pitfalls and make the process feel clear. Where that education can fall short is when theory meets real-world constraints. Understanding products at a high level doesn't guarantee those choices will translate cleanly once manufacturing begins. The first gap I encountered involved usability. I replaced wood doors with fiberglass doors and assumed hanging blinds would be straightforward. I later learned fiberglass doors with foam cores don't provide the same structural support as solid wood, and traditional blind mounting can be risky unless planned around limited wood blocking. By the time this became clear, the doors were already ordered. Internal blinds would have been the safest solution, but that decision must be made before manufacturing. After raising the issue, I learned internal-blind glass units were available, but only in double pane -- not triple pane -- and without laminated options. I would have been paying to move from triple pane to double pane to solve a usability issue that hadn't been discussed earlier. I declined. The issue wasn't that tradeoffs exist -- it was how late they became visible. Another issue surfaced during installation. An existing storm door was removed, and I learned mid-install it would not be reinstalled. That had not been discussed during sales or measurement. The lesson for me: if something matters, confirm it explicitly before installation begins. Install day is where risk largely shifts to the homeowner. After the crew left, I noticed drywall damage, sealant contacting finished surfaces, debris inside and out, a damaged sprinkler head where materials were staged, and cigarette butts in the yard. Some items were addressed later; others required additional time and expense. The patio door also required adjustment and still does not open and close cleanly. I was told the next step may involve shaving material off the door -- an example of how fixes can escalate once installation is complete. My primary concern for the bedroom patio door was security and sound. Based on that, I was advised to go with triple pane. Living with the result, sound performance has not met my expectations. Laminated glass, which was not discussed during sales, is generally considered superior for both sound and security. After raising concerns, I learned the manufacturer does not publish specific sound performance ratings for its door assemblies. The recommendation appears to have been based on industry convention rather than product-specific testing. When I revisited the issue, the recommendation was affirmed and third-party solutions were suggested. When performance isn't clearly tested or measured, it becomes difficult to know whether the product was the best fit -- or whether the outcome simply falls short. If I were starting over, I would validate real-world usability early, confirm important details in writing, treat the measurement appointment as the last true decision point, ask what is tested versus conventional, and actively inspect install day before the crew leaves. The videos and guidance are helpful, but they don't replace pressure-testing assumptions before decisions harden. If nothing else, I hope this review helps turn a private loss into public wisdom for the next homeowner navigating this process.
