We've been looking into repairing/replacing our windows on a 15 year old home. Altogether we have 32 windows and the vast majority had broken seals, which led to constant condensation in between the panes. I have heard about Best Buy Windows & Siding for years on the WBAP morning shows. Our appointment was set with a Saturday morning (that was a big plus that they would meet on a weekend) with Rick. He was friendly, very knowledgeable, educated us on the process and most importantly, he was not pressuring or demanding. The ordering process was seamless and our windows came in a month later. Scheduling the install was so easy and I cannot say enough about our crew. They were here for two solid days installing all the windows. The crew was professional, friendly, cleaned up after themselves and went above and beyond what I expected. The best choice for me. Selecting a window company and manufacturer is complicated. After much research and references I solicited 3 quotes. One well known national company was $78,000 higher! Watch out for scare tactics and assertions of competitors having inferior products and service. My project included 24 windows. John Allen was recommended by 2 of my personal friends who used him on their homes. Professional salesman who knows his product and industry. The windows are manufactured in Flower Mound Tx. I accepted his quote and met with his GM Tony to set up the order at their Richardson Tx office. They sent Pat to measure my windows for accuracy. Very meticulous man. Order was placed and delivery of windows was 4 weeks. Shelly called to confirm date of installation. My installation crew was Raphael and Kevin. For 2 days they worked as a well oiled machine removing each existing window and prepped opening for new window. Care and skill made the experience very impressive. I'd been putting off replacing hazy windows for a few years and finally promised the wife I'd get some quotes. Best Buy gave me the lowest quote of three. Not 100% convinced they make the absolute best Windows in the world, but couldn't justify paying twice as much elsewhere. The real highlight was the installation crew. I've never seen a group of guys work as hard as they did, not only on the installation, but also the cleanup. Many years ago, I worked construction and know how easy it is at the end of the day to overlook a a few things while cleaning up. These guys didn't miss anything. I would liked to have used Best Buy Widnows, but they were a bit difficult to work with. I had 3 companies come out and give me quotes for windows for my house. Company "A" was extremely high so they were ruled out. Best Buy and Company "B" were pretty close in cost and quality, with Best Buy having a better warranty. The quotes between comany "B" and Best Buy were within $1,500 in total. While looking over the quote from Best Buy, they had a $300 "permit fee" on there and I told them I did not need a permit and they insisted I did. I called the city and found out I DID NOT need a permit, and relayed that to Best Buy and they said "oh, sorry, I thought you were in the next city over". At any rate, since I didn't need the permit they said they could reduce the $300 "permit fee" by $25 and when I inquired why it does not remove the $300 completely, they just said "it doesn't", so beware the permit fee, is not a permit fee. The 2nd issue I had was they wanted to upcharge me $400 by telling me I needed to have tempered glass for the 2 small windows in the bathroom. I checked codes and due to the window size and height from floor requirements, I DID NOT need tempered glass for either of those windows. I pointed that out to Best Buy as well, but they insisted I needed them. Due to both of these issues, I ended up going with Company "B". However, had Best Buy fessed up to the tempered glass and relinquished the full permit fee, I would have gone with Best Buy for the warranty. If you read this far, please ensure Best Buy has your best interest in mind and not theirs. read more

Wish I didn't have to write this, but buyer beware! Questionable quality, and if you need them back for anything you're SOL. :( 2 years ago we replaced over 10 windows, as well as all the siding, fascia, and soffits around the roof ($35k+!). A couple months ago a large storm ripped about an 8 ft. section of fascia completely off! Literally torn a long strip of metal in two like a piece of paper! A call to their office gets us "Oh, so-and-so is in a meeting, but he'll definitely call you back by the end of the day". Couple weeks go by, call again, I get "Oh, so-and-so is in a meeting, but he'll definitely call you back by the end of the day". Another couple weeks, call again, I get "Oh, so-and-so is in a meeting, but he'll *definitely* call you back by the end of the day". We're still waiting. Meanwhile, I've got 8 feet of rafter exposed to the elements. I question the quality of the metal, to be torn the way it was (wish I could post pic), but even worse, the customer service has been completely unacceptable. Buyer beware. Worst company I have ever dealt with! Installer broke a window during installation. When I called to find out when the window would be replaced, I was continually told it was on back order. After 4 months of no response, I had to hire another company who installed the window in 3 weeks. Also we told the installer we wanted to keep our Sunscreen, but they took them and we lost another $1500. The customer "service" department is totally unresponsive and would do nothing in getting back our screens. They may advertise the lowest price, they should advertise the lowest quality service read more

I just upgraded from single pane (home built in 1966) windows to these beautiful double pane argon gas filled custom windows. Replaced 10 windows in less than 8 hours. The installers were professional and cleaned up after themselves nicely. These new windows are a game changer on my home. Can't wait to see the difference in the hot summer days. Yes, there were long delays in the windows being manufactured and finally installed. However, I understand very much the job market and the abilities of companies to hire and retain quality workers is very low right now. They get a pass for the delays in my book. Whenever I wanted and update they were responsive and candid with me. Now that the project is completed I couldn't be happier with these new windows. read more

The team that installed my windows were very professional and genuinely had fun. It was obvious they enjoyed being a team and their occupation. The price was good as well. The windows come with a lifetime warranty on the windows and workmanship. When the temp dropped for the first time the windows had so much condensation on them you couldn't see out. I bought the triple paned, double hung products. There shouldn't be condensation with the spaces and gases in between the panes. When I called I got excuses and a pamphlet justifying the install and the foggy windows. No one came to see if there was an issue. In addition, one of the reasons we bought the triple pane windows was noise abatement. It was quiet for about a week maybe two, then you could hear the noise again. I would still recommend this business, but be aware, you might have expections that the company doesn't share... read more

We ordered windows from Best Buy in May and they arrived mid Oct. When the sales rep Chris Churchill came to our house back in May I specified that my goal was to pull out the existing white frame and install new windows that frame up to the brick - this is called a brick-to-brick installation. Chris told me the term for this, and upon research (I'm not a window expert) this is exactly what I was looking for - as opposed to a retrofit installation. A simple google search pulls this up: https://oakvillewd.com/blog/window-installations-retrofit-brick-to-brick/ Chris and I discussed that Best Buy does not paint in their installation, but he was clear that paint would not be necessary as we were doing a brick-to-brick installation and the new bronze frame would run right up the brick - we discussed how clean and modern this would look - and how it would match up with the new windows we added to the back of the house in an addition two years go. (Picture of the large picture window on bronze below to show the difference.) I also ordered a 40/60 split in the two front windows to match up with the picture window/casement look in the back of the house. I initially wanted to order a picture/casement combo but Chris convinced me to do the 40/60 split. The windows were installed and for one, the front two are a 50/50 split, not a 40/60, and for the other, this is NOT a brick to brick but a standard retrofit installation, using the existing frame from 1950. This TOTALLY not the look we discussed. Initially Chris told me that on installation day when I saw the problem that A. They DID measure for brick to brick and then B. he goes to at least 4 houses a day and can't remember my house and finally that C. this is a "structure to structure" measurement. I spoke to his supervisor on the phone and was told that the owners need to get involved and they would reach out - this was almost 2 weeks ago. I called again last week and was told that they are very busy doing "20 installs a week" and there is an ongoing "investigation" even though no one has reached out to me to even see pictures of the problem, much less come see the house. I get that they must be very busy and this is a small chunk of change for them but it's a significant purchase for our family - as I think new windows are for most people. I may not have much recourse for the installation type, as this was in conversation, not on paper, and I did not know enough at the time to get it in writing, the 40/60 split window order is documented and those windows are flat out wrong. I have not been told anything about what they will do to fix this. Luckily I have only paid the deposit. I told the installers that I wanted to have a plan to fix the issues before we paid the balance due and I'm glad I did, as that seems to be the only reason they will (hopefully?) eventually reach out. If they are going to re-order to at least get the split right I would hope that would happen soon due to the very long lead time, but I would actually like to just order the two front windows from a company that can give me the look I want since it's front-facing. We did also get a quote from Window World that was similar - they had a demo window they brought over and the quality was MUCH better. Best Buy did not have a demo window but I assumed it would be similar since they are both aluminum windows - but these are much less substantial and still feel drafty. Compared to the new windows in the back of the house there is a huge difference. This is a huge bummer as that was a major reason for replacing the original 1950s windows in the front of the house. Also worth noting - 5 out of 6 windows did not come with screens. I'm including pics of damage done to interior sil - these were recently painted so I know the damage was done during installation. Lastly - we had the house exterior trim painted recently and did not include the window frames because I was told they would be removed. It's going to be an added expense to get these old frames prepped and painted to look even halfway decent with the windows. read more

Best Buy came highly recommended from a personal friend and and a general contractor who replaced my roof and so I decided to go with them versus a neighbor's recommendation of a local competitor. I was given a 90 day time frame to replace all of the windows in my home I recently purchased (but was built in the 1980s) which wasn't great since many of the windows won't open at all and therefore present a safety hazard but I know things are taking much longer these days. My late December estimated installation date came and went with no update. When calling the number on a google search it just gets you to a sales person who can't status anything and you're referred to contact to the office when they are open and it seems like they have bankers hours , multiple holidays and now possibly can't give updates on Monday's??? When I finally reached someone in the office in January they said it was delayed until March, yet no one had proactively reached out to me. I was told to call back in February for an update and did and was told I'd get a follow up call the next week which I did not. At this point I'll be exploring any and all options to break my contract and find another company who will at least communicate with me or I can get in touch with even if that means another months long delay. Like a previous poster commented, I don't enjoy and rarely ever give a negative review but this is beyond ridiculous. read more

I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, but it is frustrating to find out that the time line for your windows to be installed has doubled. The sales person, Michael, told me it would take 10-12 weeks, so we decided to go ahead and place an order since it would still be in time before our baby arrives. It has been 10 weeks, so I decided to check on the status since I had not heard from anyone to only finding out that it is now a 23-25 week time lead and will not get here until mid Nov. This is such an inconvenience for us because our baby will already have arrived and the baby's room will not be ready since we cannot paint the room until windows are installed. It is also frustrating reaching out to your sales person and having no response. As well as seeing other recent reviews mention that their time line was also pushed double the time that they were told. I now question if Best Buy Windows Sales people are lying about the time line just to get the sales in, which something I do NOT tolerate. If you are looking for honesty, responsiveness + professionalism, I highly encourage you to go with another window business. We are truly disappointed! read more

Best Buy Windows just completed installation of 24 windows in my home. The sales representative was professional and not pushy, no sign now for better price gimmicks. Said 8-10 weeks, windows arrived in 6 weeks and were installed in 1 1/2 days. Installers were professional, friendly, and did a quality job. Lastly, price couldn't be beat!!!! read more

Did a great job on the windows, they have made our house look great. The only "downside" at this time was the duration of the back order. It took almost twice as long as original estimate to get them done. But again, after completed, they look great! I do recommend Best Buy Windows ! read more

This was a nightmare from day 1. I had to call repeatedly to find out when/if they were ever going to start. After they started it just got worse. They ran out of siding half way through the job. They broke so many things and treated my house like a dumping ground/restroom. I know they were smoking pot and urinating in my yard. To this day I'm still cleaning up cigarettes butts and nails. Every day they left a mess. 1 month after the job was done, they requested $2,500.00, more on top of the $15,000.00, contract price for termite damage. Oh, forgot to mention, one of their contractors said he smelled gas. I couldn't smell it but called the gas company. They turned my gas off to see if there was a leak. There was not. Now in order to turn my gas back on, I had to not only hire a plumber on a Saturday, but get the plumber and Atmos out there at the same time. It cost us $297.00. This company is professional from start to finish. Our windows cost $6000.00 less than a competitor's quote and are great quality. They even made some suggestions to change 3 of our windows to full pane so that the view of our beautiful backyard is unobstructed. You know the feeling you get before a big project is done....worry about mess and mistakes? You need not be concerned. The installers were so professional and clean. Every window fits like a glove (they know how to measure - no small task). They removed 20 old windows and installed new ones in a day and a half. We couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

From beginning to end... The salesman was knowledgeable, friendly, honest, and no B.S. Some of the others we talked to (other replacement window companies) were like used car salesmen. The price quoted was less than half of the next lowest. Others were even more expensive than that. I'm going to say it again so it doesn't go unnoticed. The price quoted by Best Buy Windows was 50% less than the next lowest quote. We're talking $16,000 vs. $8,000 for basically the same windows. After seeing this, it made me realize that the other window companies are total price gougers. The guy who did the measuring made sure I was there (at my request) before coming over and answered all of my questions while there. The windows were ordered and arrived within about 3 weeks. The job was scheduled 10 days later (they called and provided multiple date options). The installation crew, 3 guys, put in 16 windows in a day. They were professional, friendly, and did an outstanding job. Minimal mess left given the size and scope of the job. The only thing that was missing was follow up after the installation. There wasn't any. A phone call asking how things went would have been nice. That said, I highly recommend Best Buy Windows. Great work at a fair price. read more

We replaced every window in our one story and even the neighbors at our HOA meeting were commenting on how nice they looked. Two guys showed up without wearing mask from Best Buy, and I had to give them mine. Then they had to take out the old windows and left broken glass pieces and window parts everywhere. Later when they finished, it was dark and could not see them what was on the ground. Those items should of been picked up earlier. We had kids around and spent hours the next day picking up what they should of. We changed out my mom's windows and The other company was cheaper, faster, and picked up everything. My sister used Best Buy Windows for her home as well. These guys were very professional and the installation team did a great job. they said going in with covid it could be a bit before windows were ready to put in. during that time they promptly answered when asked for updates, and when done they were finished in just under a day. very polite crew that cleaned up as they went and friendly through the entire process. so glad i had this done and i would certainly recommend them. read more

All my windows were builder grade from 1986. I've replaced half of the windows facing north side in 2017, there were 14 windows total included 1 big one above the front door, the price tag was 16k which is a lot of money. The windows are good and the company did a good job but still it's lot of money. I need to replace the other 14 windows (about 35x72 each) this year, so after the research and review, I called Best Buy in March to have an estimate. The price tag is 7k only which is far less than what I paid for the other windows. I requested the triple pane for my daughter and my bedroom which noise was an issue. It took around 5 weeks for the windows and they called me to schedule the install. I picked a Friday appointment instead of Saturday so that I didn't have to wait for 2 more weeks. The crew arrived on time and did a good job, I can tell the different how they measure the windows, the last company make the window smaller so they can easy fit it and fill the gap with silicone, but Best Buy's windows are pretty tight fit with much smaller gap. The quality of the windows are same or even better than my other windows, it's much thicker. I should pay a bit more to order all triple pane instead of double pane. It really cut down the noise from the outside. I used to hear the birds and cars in the morning, and now it's so much quiet. If you have alarm system, you need to order the surface mount contacts and/or wires ahead, my original window contacts were recess type which I'm not going to drill holes on the new windows. One suggestion for Best Buy is to have this alarm wiring service comes with the install :-) It's almost a month after the new windows and I'm very happy with them. read more

I've heard their ad on the radio for a while and glad I did. We needed new windows as soon as we moved into our new house. Of course, they are the first ones I called because of their ad. They claim to not up sell you and give you a fair price... and it's the true. It took a while but that's because we have some weird angles on our windows and it took extra time to order. When they came out, the installers were nice and professional and did great work. I would definitely recommend calling Best Buy if you need new windows. I did! read more

As I saw on another review, decent enough product but very poor service. The installers did well enough putting in the windows but destroyed a shrub by standing on it and chipped my wood floor in one spot. They also made no attempt to clean the new windows or remove all of the old stickers and stuff on the windows. Several calls and over two weeks later someone came out to look and supposedly submitted the damage up the chain. That was about 5 weeks ago. I've left messages twice and submitted my problems to their website with no answer. I'm feeling bad that the warranty that came with the windows is as worthless as their customer service. read more

Everyone from start to finish, the initial sales/demo, order process, installation crew, and office staff were superb. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! We placed our order for 23 windows and got all of them measured and then patiently waited the 22+weeks to get our windows in. FINALLY got the call that our windows were in and they were ready to be installed. Installers came bright and early and did a FANTASTIC job on our 21 of the 23 windows we ordered. Apparently the last 2 windows needed to be re-measured which the installers did while there and glass reordered, which we were fine with and paid in full for the full order of the 23 windows (stupid me) thinking we were going to get the final 2 windows replaced soon after or at least someone staying in contact with us about them... I have been calling customer service and sales, emailing and texting to find out the status on the last 2 windows since the 21 windows were installed in January, but got only 1 text response from Shelly saying they had to find another glass person and that was back in January and now SILENCE and no one is following up or responding. Best Buy Windows cashed our full payment check a few weeks ago with no problem so I know they are still in business, but I am STILL waiting for this company to do the right thing and get our last 2 windows completed and installed or refund us for those 2 windows.. I HAD HOPES FOR A GREAT OUTCOME.....BUT NOW I AM COMPLETELY FRUSTRATED. read more

While the quality of the product seems adequate, installation was not smooth (they rescheduled a couple of times, didn't have all the windows ready when they arrived, took two months to get back with me on the final window). I could write a book on customer service (cliff notes version = staff does not communicate among themselves, nor do they make good on their promises to customers). I am giving them one star because that is the lowest rating I can give them. The windows were installed with two windows that were broken " in transit" The two broken windows were replaced with dirty windows that we were told not to try to move, they would be back in a week with the correct windows. Three weeks later no windows, our calls are referred to the installer who says he is too busy! We are most unhappy, and would certainly not recommend this company. The only thing they have done promptly is to charge our credit card. read more
