Absolutely excellent customer service! The employees were extremely friendly, and down to earth; however, I highly recommend getting a second opinion if you plan on getting repairs here. They try and upsell you on many add ons that you don't need for your car (fuel injections, tires that have just been replaced, etc) regardless of the car's age/value, and they frequently do an upsell of about 180 dollars to go deeper than the "free inspection". This add on inspection is very thorough though, and they take videos of different parts of your car, with detailed descriptions of each that you can access for 30 days. Just for full transparency on my car's problem, I had a check engine light go on after a 15 hour drive, and after 1,200 dollars of work, the issue still persisted. They ended up giving me back my car, and quoted me another 5 grand for a very labor intensive part (head gasket), and were very pushy both times with getting me to sign and order the parts right away. I ended up getting a new car since the repairs were worth more than the vehicle, and they didn't offer towing services to the new location. They also took the windshield wipers off of my car before I picked it up to trade in, so I had no wipers?? Overall I think the car was more the issue than Jim Taylor, but I wish I knew all of this info before I came here! read more

The right hand and the left hand (Tylor & David) do not know what they each are saying or doing. Took my auto in for and oil change and tire rotation it took two and a half hours. Yes, 2 1/2 hours. When picked the car up electronics stated need service. Took it back they wanted $130 for diagnostics. Ok Wrote a review and was told there would be no charge. Took car back and after a day still waiting and have been told it will be $130. I think they read the felons book 'the art of the steal.' Aptitude and ability are important for auto repair. A friend of mine who doesn't make much money, had taken her CRV to a Honda dealer for a diagnostic of the air conditioner. They said if it included the compressor and kit, it would be $3,100 and charged her $100 for the service. I suggested she get a second opinion and found good reviews for Jim Taylor Automotive and it is included as a AAA service provider. Since she works an odd split shift, I called and asked how much they would charge for the same repairs and Chris told me to bring it in - diagnostics are free so there is no risk. When she called them the next morning, Chris said it would be $3,900 for the same repair as the dealer. She said no thanks and she would pick it up, BUT when she got there they said it was a $189 charge for the diagnosis, which was required before she could get her car. I don't leave reviews often and I usually leave good ones but this is unscrupulous behavior in my opinion. In this case - buyer beware!!! read more

I was traveling for work when my check engine light came on and engine started shaking. I called ahead and stopped in, they were able to get me in pretty quickly to diagnose what was obviously some sort of misfire. After looking at my truck, the guy at the desk said it would be $900+ to replace spark plugs and another $178 if they have to replace a coil. I was on a work trip with nothing nearby and had to get it fixed asap so I agreed. I assumed spark plugs and parts must be much more now than before. The guy at the desk apologized that they had to wait hours for the spark plugs to arrive. I was there 4 hours total from arrival at 1:15pm to departure around 5:15pm. The mechanic even told me "it took me 15 minutes to get the plugs in and sealed, and the coil will only take me a few minutes." I understand on an F150 you have to remove the intake and there's a diagnosis period. so being very generous maybe 2 - 2.5 hrs total of labor with diagnosis and all. Even with that, they must charge $3-400/hr for labor. I walked out often to see that they were not working on my truck, just waiting on parts to arrive. The workers were very nice, they were able to get the job done so I cannot be too mad about the situation that I somewhat agreed to, but for a review/recommendation if you have any other options or spare time at all, I would definitely check around for someone who doesn't charge $3-400+/hr for labor. Just asking other shops in the area after, I was quoted ~$600 for the same job including parts. read more
