My God, I could not say enough good things about this place. Went on a week day because the weekends are just too crowded. Ordered the Big Hoss & a cinnamon streusel muffin both absolutely delicious. Not only was the flavor excellent but the preparation is fine with done thought. The gravy was layered over the eggs so the chicken fried steak would not get soggy. I've been coming to Clarkie's for quite sometime time and I had to come on here to piggy back off of the negative review left the other day. The staff at Clarkie's has always treated people with respect, even the horrible customers who are rude to staff and other customers. The "handicapped man" is not handicapped, he's known in the community for being violent and rude and has created issues for them in the past. The business has the right the refuse service, and they've been tolerating his behavior for quite some time especially when he comes in screaming vulgar obscenities. I come here because everyone is so friendly, it truly is a family oriented restaurant and very welcoming. The food is great as well. read more

Amazing staff- with great customer service & manners. The young girl who took our order actually asked me if our children were allowed soda or lemonade before writing down whatever the kids tried to slip by me. 2nd time in Calimesa, 1st time eating in Calimesa and we are so happy we found this diner. Came here for breakfast and the layout is very open. All the wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful, always coming back and checking up on you. Food was delicious, we ordered the chicken fried steak, French toast and kids chocolate chip pancakes. The best menu item we ordered was the strudel muffin, soft fluffy muffin that is sweet and salty from the butter. My kids liked it so much that when we paid the bill we ordered 3 mire to go. The downfall is that there have been several times I've gone and they don't have it. The staff however is very nice and polite. The food is pretty good, but the strudel is what keeps us going back. Went to Clarkies Diner for brunch today. I had eggs, sausage, fried potatoes and their famous muffin. Eggs were perfect. Sausage patties were tasty with a little kick to them. Potatoes could have been a little more browned. The muffin was awesome! My Aunt enjoyed her Clarkies favorite sandwich. A little pricy, but everything is nowadays. Service was great. Came here on the way to Oak Glen for breakfast. It was jam packed on a Sunday but fortunately there was not a long wait. I went with the breakfast quesadilla and their famous cinnamon strudel thing. The quesadilla was ok, it had potatoes, eggs, bacon, and cheese so the usual. There was nothing too memorable or unique about it which is what I was hoping for coming here. So onto the cinnamon strudel. This little piece of baking perfection was absolutely the best strudel or muffin I've ever had. It was warm, soft, moist, and packed with the most perfect buttery cinnamon flavor throughout. The middle of it has a little puddle of butter that melts don't inside of the cinnamon part. You can buy these things by the dozen. I'd come back here if I were in the area and would definitely try some other type of main course, but would remained buying a box of these strudels. read more
