Somehow, I got lucky and managed to find this friendly, cute, rough-around-the-edges kind of small town diner known for their great breakfasts, in the middle of nowhere. The only reason it caught my eye was because our tax preparer was just down the street. It was obviously well loved by the locals after reading their great reviews and seeing a full parking lot. And this was on a Wednesday. We only had time for a quick bite, ordering nothing out of the ordinary. A quickie breakfast of sausage, scrambled eggs, and pancake, were all we had, but everything was nicely done. The pancake was big, light and airy, served with a carafe of warm syrup and a huge scoop of butter. The scrambled eggs were moist and fluffy, the sausage was basically a Farmer John sausage patty that was properly warmed but not overcooked, and very good tasting. My only criticism was the coffee being too thin for my liking, but keeping our coffee mugs filled was something they definitely did well! The service was wonderful. They knew we were in a rush, and handled us with TLC the entire 35 minutes we had. What I do know is, I will be looking forward to our next tax appointment, hah, knowing our morning will start off right here. Clarkie's Diner is such a great spot when you're craving a solid, satisfying meal. The ambience is diner chic--clean, cozy, and with that classic vibe that makes you want to hang out a while. The service was great, and our food came out quickly, which is always a win. I ordered the turkey club with fries, and it absolutely hit the mark. The sandwich had perfectly crispy bread with moist, flavorful turkey--every bite was spot on. The fries were just as impressive: crispy, well-seasoned, and seriously addictive. Yuuumm! So glad I came here! Three of us went and it's a cute little place with a great Breakfast! We started with the Cinnamon Streusel Muffin. It comes with the butter but I'd skip it next time. It's so tasty it doesn't need it. I loved the Breakfast Sandwich. The over medium eggs had a perfect cook, the bacon is thick and the roll is soft. Sooo tasty and not too big. I want it again! My hubby had the Bacon & Egg combo. He said it was all good except the potatoes were flavorless and needed salt and seasoning. Mom had the biscuits & gravy with two eggs. They have good gravy. Nice flavor balance! They have a tight parking lot for a big pickup truck and not much street parking. The staff is really friendly. I can't wait to try more of their menu! read more

This small home style diner was extremely busy when we arrived, and parking was very limited but the food made it completely worth it. My favorite item was the cinnamon streusel muffin, served warm with butter melting on top. It honestly tasted like heaven. Despite how packed the place was, the service was outstanding. Clarkies used to be a treat not anymore. The last time we went in there at breakfast we were shocked that more than half the tables were empty. Opening the menu kinda gave us a clue. Prices had been jacked up quite a bit. The prices were about the same as the ridiculous tourist prices in Waikiki Hawaii for simple dishes like eggs, bacon and potatoes. When the food arrived we were even more shocked that the portions were significantly reduced. The pancake no longer covered the plate, the cinnamon roll was much smaller than it had always been. The serving size of the potatoes was noticeably smaller. It now became rather obvious why the place was empty when before it was literally jammed packed. I mean, really, who wants to spend hard earned money on simple breakfast when the prices are overpriced and the portion size reduced? You can literally stay home at half the cost. It's almost as if Clarkies is entering the death spiral. No customers results in less money leading to a failed business. Oh, well. They brought this on themselves. When you notice most of your tables empty you might want to ask yourself what the problem might be. read more

I'm very happy I came here instead of Denny's. Although my wife and I enjoy going to Denny's because of the consistency of affordable food and the service that we get from one server named Danny. My experience here was better quality food, including strawberries, included a fruit bowl and a server named Joom who is just outstanding. I strongly recommend this restaurant. Went to brunch here and enjoyed my food very much. Only downside was the service. While our server was nice, she wasn't very attentive and all the other servers seemed to avoid me and my family outright. They asked my dad over and over again if he wanted more iced tea but ignored my mom, my aunt, and myself. I had my coffee refilled once. I can forgive it though as the food was absolutely delicious and we got our food in a very timely manner. There is a big seating area to accommodate the crowd. The food was delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich and biscuit and gravy. Both were really good. The biscuit had a tiny bit of a sweet taste. I usually get the same thing here. Occasionally I will order something French toast or an omelette or scramble. All of their food here has been really good in my experience. Typically speaking, you are seated quickly (except at their busiest times of course). I haven't noticed a whole lot of turnover in staff which is a good sign. You usually get your food quickly. The orange juice doesn't taste like it comes from concentrate, it's very fresh. The portions are very large (in the picture I posted, there is the smallest biscuits and gravy they serve). The decor is very country kitchen and family like, as if you are on a farm. One of my favorite breakfast spots! read more

Stopped by to grab breakfast. The outside is very unassuming but the service was great and the food was even better. We were seated immediately upon entering. This place always has a lot of people visiting so they try to get your order quickly. Our server approached us for our order at least three times within 5 or so.
