My friend went to the fitting room to try some items on, so I eventually went to go view the fashion show. As I walked into the fitting room area, two employees were busy fiddling with some clothes-- I didn't know it takes two employees to hang a shirt up. As I was about to round the corner, one of them yelled at me, "Ma'am?!" So I turned back towards the counter and the employee scanned me up and down before asking if I was trying something on. I said I was not and then I was asked if I was looking for someone in the fitting room. When I said I was, the employee simply stared at me. After finally making my way to the fitting room area, the room was at least 80 degrees, perfect for trying on clothes...NOT. My friend and I promptly left the store and have no intention of ever stopping in again.

Just prior to walking into ALDO, I subjected myself to the chaos that is the Macy's shoe department. The customer service, staffing, and cleanliness at Macy's continues to suffer. ALDO, however, is able to provide their customers with a much better overall experience. I was assisted by two associates on my last visit, Lisa and Jackson. Jackson checked for my shoe size in the back and returned quickly enough to ensure I remained interested. Lisa greeted me immediately when I walked in the door and was full of suggestions, as she followed my direction and taste in accessories -never did I feel cramped or pressured. And what I've also noticed is how sharp their men's shoes are. They have a real classic look. Shopping for shoes and other accessories shouldn't feel like a chore or a long drawn out process. All very reasonably priced, which is getting rarer and rarer for secondhand shops. I always try to stop in when I am in town and usually walk out with something new! And the even better news is that you are right on a busy street with other shops, cafes, restaurants, ice cream shops, boba shops, everything shops. So don't make the trip here just for a quick pop in, walk around and enjoy Somerville afterwards. I do believe you can bring in things to sell which I desperately need to do!
