So the site says "taking extra sanitization precautions." But the place is pretty gross. Thick dust around the machine where they ask you to put your head. In lieu of medical grade sanitization wipes, hand sanitizing wipes are what are being used to minimally wipe things down. I must say that the tech or whatever her title is did put on gloves prior to touching me. So anyway, if you go on a Saturday, also don't expect full services. It is almost 12 pm and I am still waiting for the dr for my 10:30am appointment. Update: my glasses were made and did not help my vision, so I scheduled a redo. When I got to the appointment, no one was aware that the appointment was a redo and the computers were down so they could not even look up my info to complete the appointment. I was later told that my info was on the office manager's desk, but that info had not been relayed to staff. read more

I'll give them 3 stars. The service was great. Everyone was knowledgeable and professional. However, I keep getting calls wanting me to come in for a yearly follow-up. Now, I know the people calling are just doing their job, However, when I ask you to NOT call and state that my glasses are still working great or that I'm too busy and I'LL get in contact when I need your services, then I expect the calls to stop. I had my appointment set since last year for Thursday, June 10 at 4:20pm I arrive at my appointment on time, nice rep explains that they don't don't not book appointments pass 4:PM and I should have been rescheduled. Which was not rescheduled. I drove from Pensacola to my appointment and made it in time in the traffic and I do not have an appointment. I have been at this location for years and never missed and appointment always recieved an call to confirm appointment. But now that issues with the Bay Bridge changes have been made and my appointment has been canceled without a call. They were running behind on appointments however the doctor explained she likes to spend time with her patients told her I really appreciated that, the care was excellent and COVID precautions were strictly used. She helped me pick out my frame and made sure they fit properly she also explained to me what was necessary for my lens and why. Doctors and eye exam technicians are great but I will NOT order new eyewear from them again. They tell you the estimated time for new product but that time comes and goes with no communication from them. You call to check on status and it takes forever for you to get an answer. read more

We normally have a great experience at this location. I highly recommend Clarkson to friends and family. Unfortunately, today, when Sharon called for an appointment reminder, she was very rude and even hung up on me. She told me that my child would need a referral from his primary doctor to have an eye exam. I have never heard of this. My insurance does not require referrals for eye care. I called back and spoke to Sharon again. I informed her that she hung up on me and she stated that she "didn't mean to." Perhaps there was something wrong with the phone. I informed her that we should not need a referral and I asked her when this started. She had no answer. She then was speaking to someone else in the background about the insurance referral. Turns out, she was wrong. She did apologize for being wrong about the referral for insurance. She was still very snobby and rude. Please hire people who have customer service skills. Train your people in insurance as well so that patients aren't lied to. This all could have been avoided if Sharon knew the correct information and wasn't so rude about everything. I have been a patient of theirs ( formerly Navarre family eye care) for about 3 years now. I have always had a friendly welcome from the receptionist and the optometrist and technicians were kind and respectful. The frame shop has greatly improved over time. The technicians there are always friendly. I needed to have my frames adjusted a lot at first and the technicians never acted as though I was a bother. I would highly recommend. read more

For the last few years I have been wearing eyeglasses that don't fit my head. I wasn't really aware of that fact until a pair of Kate Spade's broke a week ago. They eventually broke due to the fact that I continuously had to get them readjusted for my big head until the darn things just came apart. I was FINALLY told by one of the opticians that the frames should have never been sold to me because they were not my temple size (150). Let me tell you that the manager was the one who initially measured my face and ordered the glasses. I paid for all the bells and whistles for the lens because they were bifocals and I didn't want a line so I paid good money for these glasses only to keep going back to have them readjusted because THEY DID NOT FIT. I also bought a pair of prescription sunglasses that were the wrong size also. Now that I'm getting more educated on the science of choosing frames that correctly fit the head, I'm sadly realizing that the last few frames I purchased from this place were also incorrectly sized. So I have been literally walking around looking like a fool wearing glasses that were sitting high up over my ears! They were uncomfortable and hurt the bridge of my nose. The worst part about this is I went in to have the manager try to help me today. I waited an hour and 30 minutes to talk to her about solutions to my situation. She waited until 5:00 when the office closed, sat down at her desk, but never acknowledged me. She did not even get out of her seat to come over to where I was trying to select a new pair of frames. Never. She never came to assist me at all. I requested my file be printed and refunds for the Kate Spade and Coach frames. I also requested the district manager's number and corporate because this was totally unnecessary and unprofessionally handled. If I had only been given the chance to take my prescription and go somewhere else to find the correct frames from the beginning or had been offered contacts...now I'm wearing old glasses (that also don't fit, temple size 140) with a weaker prescription. The old glasses are single vision. My prescription has changed to me needing bifocals. Until when, I don't know because I now have to find another frame somewhere, somehow. I'm disappointed. You all are the professionals and i trusted your expertise in making sure i can see clearly in style and comfort. There are several things that make this a two-star review. Both my husband and I have tried Clarkson several times in the last 2 years to give them more than one chance. The positive, we liked the optometrist. The negatives, we have insurance and supposedly the exam is free but they charged $55.00 to update a prescription that had not changed (each exam had some type of extra charge added to it. ) Also, my husband's glasses were poorly made and had to be sent back twice( he couldn't see out of them). I have sample contacts that were ordered and they were supposed to call me when they arrived. They did not. The glasses that I ordered two weeks ago are still not in ( two weeks was the quoted time). Caveat emptor! With Clarkson Eyecare, "it's all about the money"! They charge for the doctor's eye exam, a separate charge for "fitting" your glasses/contacts (even though I already had contacts), and their eyewear costs are much higher than their competitors. When I called them to remove the charge for "fitting" my contacts, they reluctantly agreed, but only if I returned the contacts that I purchased through them (Really? Take them out of my eyes??). ClarksonEye Care on Davis , was very helpful in Getting my husbands surgery done in a timely Manner. His first attempt at eye surgery was stopped due to his spike in his heart rate the anesthesias stop the procedure so we had to wait until my husband saw a cardiologist before they would reschedule because they work out of the Andrews Institute and that is their procedure so with the wonderful help at Clarkston, We were able to get all the papers necessary and schedule another surgery before my husband had to start chemotherapy and we are very satisfied with the job they did we are more than satisfied I can't thank the Susie the clerical workers did I knocommit many hours on the phone calling people for us thank you so much. They will not schedule family members on the same day so each family member has to go a different day which was very inconvenient. They also messed up the orders on both glasses we purchased. This was the first time buying glasses here, and it will also be the last. They had to remake the lenses and we have been waiting 3 months and they still aren't done. Beware Customer Beware. Trying to get a copy of our RX for my son and its like they are holding it hostage, you would think it was a winning lottery ticket for millions. My son had been trying for two days to get the RX sent and I tried for a day with no success. I was told that it would be sent to my email, but nothing. Called back and spoke to a different person, nothing either. My son is now out of contacts and I cant get these people to send a simple RX via email so that I can get him his needed contacts. My son had also gone into the store a few months ago and they charged him out of pockets for some services that were not even required and that he had never needed prior and could not adequately explain the extra charges. We even asked for the Doctor to call us back that ordered the extra services and were told by the desk staff that he wouldn't have time to make phone calls to customers. I do not live in town so it is hard for me to just stop by to get my sons RX, they don't seem to care at Clarkson, so I have stopped going to Clarkson's as have my entire family now. Sometimes business's forget who they are working for, and don't realize the negative impacts and ramifications of poor reviews. Do Your Job Clarkson and get a clue. read more

I made an appt at this clinic due to the proximity to my home and my insurance plan covers this location. Let me be up front - I'm used to Sam's Club and the quick in and out but thorough. I called to schedule my appt - and they ask for both my eye insurance and my medical insurance- just to make the appt. all I need is an eye exam to get my contacts but I have to give SSN and medical insurance and vision insurance just to make an appt. all this just for the appt. I show up for the appt and hurry up and wait. First I go in one room for some tests - and then another room for the actual exam. More waiting. The doctor walks in - then oops - need to dilate and then oops - we need to move you because we put you in the wrong room? Seriously? So then the doctor comes back in and looks at my eyes and I ask for my prescription. But they don't have my contacts soooo we can give you the ones we want to give you and you can accept that prescription or we can order your prescription and you can come back. (I wear common everyday B&L contacts. Im not sure why they wouldn't be stocked?). I finally convince the doctor to write my prescription and she does - but specifically limits the prescription to only ONE year. Most are Good for 2 years but not this place. And I had to fight to get my prescription reminding the staff over and over that I needed my prescription that day so I could order my contacts. I won't be back. read more

While I adore Dr. Anderson and followed her to this clinic, these people do not care one bit whether I can see or not. I was in there in JUNE and paid over $400.00 for an exam and contact lenses. It took 3 weeks for the lenses to come in and only after I dropped into their facility to ask where they were- miraculously, they appeared the next day. I picked them up, put them in and wondered why I couldn't see. I was told to wear them a week and come back for Dr. Anderson to look at the fit, I did that and when I couldn't read the chart, they realized they had ordered the wrong lenses. She said they would reorder and in the meantime, I could wear the wrong ones they gave me. Now, it's been two more weeks and I still have no contacts that I can see out of. I called to see where they were and was told I had to come back for an exam before they could reorder and they were at the "Mercy of the lab"- REALLY???? It's been 6 weeks and they were more than happy to take my money but I still can't see. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told there wasn't one in. REALLY??? I do not believe any of it. I'm convinced the lenses I waited for for three weeks were never ordered and they tried to pawn off something close on me. AND now, here I am, out my money and no contacts in my prescription. What kind of business does that? I am also convinced they didn't order the ones two weeks ago as well. EDITED TO ADD: They just called to say they'd be in on Monday. I found Clarkson eye care after weeding out other facilities that either didn't accept my vision insurance or couldn't see me on the desired appointment day. I set up an appointment for my next available day off but upon arrival for the scheduled appointment I received notification that I didn't have an appointment. In fact, the appointment was scheduled for the following week during my work week despite the arrangements that were made previously. Rather than making efforts to remedy the situation I was asked when I changed my appointment time. So, unless you're interested in sporadic, surprise appointments I cannot recommend this business. read more

A month ago I walked into the Clarkson eyecare ok Sorrento Rd. Because my glasses were destroyed. The lady I ordered my glasses from was very nice and helpful so for that I'm thankful. I didn't get any upgrades to my glasses just the regular lens. She told me 2 to 3 weeks but since there was no upgrades most likely 2. 2 weeks later I called for an update the rep said that the glasses were shipped so I should get them Thursday or Friday. Friday I called for an update because I was going out of town that day she then told me that something went on went the lab so I won't get them til Monday (granted she told me they were already shipped last time) I got back in town Tuesday and called and AGAIN they told me something went on with the lab and the lab actually broke my glasses so it won't be for another week. I called and left 2 messages to see if they can help me out with some contacts since they screwed up my order never heard a response. Finally after a month I get my glasses I walk in and they were very short with me. I will never return there and I suggest you don't go there. read more

I purchased a pair of glasses and asked for the transition lenses. When my glasses came in I noticed that they didn't transition in the sun light, so I immediately took them back in. One of the ladies confirmed that the transition lenses had not been added to my glasses, so they asked me to let them send them off so it could be added. This added an additional week before I could pick them up. When they finally called me and I went in to pick up my glasses, I noticed that instead of transitioning to sunglasses, they turned a pinkish color. I took them back in and the Optometrist verified that transition lenses were not added to my glasses. By this time I am super frustrated and just ask for a refund. I was advised that I would receive a refund within 3 - 5 weeks. It is now beyond 6 weeks and I have yet to receive my refund. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
