Horrible experience with this company! We ordered glasses and were told our total of $142.56 was payed in full at the time of departure of our appointment. Come to find out 2 months later that Emma their optician has been refusing to connect us with a supervisor, she refused to help us figure out the issue with billing, & she was incredibly unhelpful as well as rude when it comes to finding the solution to these billing issues. We still have not gotten a clear answer regarding our billing and Emma still claims she has no supervisors when will this place get shut down? read more

Absolute WORST consumer experience of my life!!! Ordered two new pairs of glasses in November 2021. (Regular, and sunglasses) It's now April 2022, we've went through EIGHT orders, one of which "was lost," and NEITHER pair are yet even CLOSE to my needed prescription. (I've been ordering prescriptions successfully for 30+ years via Pearl Vision, boy did I make a huge mistake trying a place close to home for convenience..) NOW the BIG insult = they claim I have been refunded for BOTH pairs, and "I'll need to speak with the manager who won't be in until next Tuesday." Good thing I've retained my receipts & records... Complete runaround throughout this entire ordeal. Seems I've spoken with someone DIFFERENT every return visit, and get a NEW story each time. Good riddens Clarkson, y'all better reconsider the Wentzville location!!! read more

Really liked Dr. Jessen! Very friendly and knowledgeable. However I spent too much money even with vision insurance. I left feeling unsettled and frustrated after buying 2 pairs of glasses. I think the patient needs to be better educated about the purchase options. I don't feel like the insurance versus in store deals were clearly explained. read more

Their scheduling system is unreliable and customer service non-existent. I made an appointment for tonight at 6:00pm at the Wentzville location, a month or so ago, via phone. After leaving work early and arriving, I was told I didn't have an appointment and wouldn't be seen because "they are already hours behind". No solution was provided besides rescheduling for next week when other doctors will be covering for the regular physicians. After being refused to be seen and being treated like my time was not important, I will be finding a new provider that appreciates my business. Very disappointed and eager to share my experience with friends, family, and neighbors. read more

I dont know what happened, but Clarkson, at least this location has really gone downhill. There has been staff turnover and a new doctor. I have witnessed staff/doctor hostility and drama during my visit. I dont want to see this at a medical professional office. I also have totally lost trust in these people, as when I recently ordered contacts, they could not tell me with confidence what brand I wore, and even was unaware that I only wore 1 contact in my right eye. Wow. My vision is too important to me to trust to these people. This office needs to be closed, or wiped clean and start over. Im done with this group. read more

I didn't go here for my eye exam, but I went here to check out some of the glasses. I wasn't expecting to purchase as I had my one year old with me and I didn't think he would cooperate long enough for me to find and try on the right ones. Needless to say, the tech in there- young girl can't remember her name but she was amazing and so sweet. She helped me and explained everything about the lens packages I was getting. She also took the time to tell me what she thought was necessary or not necessary when it came to the lens package. I didn't feel like she rushed me or tried to sell Me any and everything because my prescription was high. I ended up leaving after spending over $300.00 simply because of her kindness. I could have ordered online the same style number I found and used my HSA and got them free. But her service was worth $300 and more! Will go back for glasses there anytime! read more

My last 3 pairs of prescription glasses purchased in the Wentzville & Hawk Ridge locations were made with the wrong prescription due to data entry errors either in the office or the lab, and had to go back to the lab to be redone. Very inconvenient. UPDATE: The next business day after I posted this review, I was contacted by phone by an executive at the Clarkson Corporate HQ's, who did a very nice job of resolving my complaint. I was very impressed with her, and they've won me back as a customer. I've updated my rating to "Yay! I'm a fan." read more

I love Dr. Jessen and staff! I travel almost an hour one way to that particular location! I won't go anywhere else! My daughter (who is now 21) has been seeing her for about 15 years!! She is now a college graduate and travels from Columbia MO for her eye exams at this location with Dr. Jessen! 10 stars out of 10!!!!! read more

Conveniently located but not willing to subject myself or family to such snotty workers. Not all of them are bad, but something is very wrong. High turnover. When you're trying to take care of your eye health and spending plenty to ensure you have the right glasses, contacts, etc., you don't expect to be treated badly. Now I drive almost an hour away for the whole family to go elsewhere. Hope someone fixes the practices at Clarkson in Wentzville. Can't believe how nasty people are allowed to behave with patients. My husband and I both had less than satisfactory results. We found out with this year's eye exam that we had both been given the wrong scrip for our eyes. We had struggled all year trying to adjust. Our fault for not going back in but still. In addition, we thought the staff except for one person to be unfriendly and doctor was robotic and cold. They could not or would not figure out our insurance so we had to pay in full and then they filed because they then "Realized" our insurance was different. Not a good experience and we cannot recommend them at all. read more

Dr. Jessen is a wonderful doctor. She's very thorough, kind, and thoughtful. Sometimes our physical ailments and financial situations can be overwhelming so its nice to find a doc like her that treats you with compassion. I highly recommend this location. read more

My experience at Clarkson eye care was the worst ever. I've been wearing glasses since I've been in grade school. First off, my glasses were dirty, they did not bother to clean them before giving them to me. They also did not try to see if the glasses fit me. And, no the glasses did not fit. I asked the girl behind the counter if she could fix them. She said yes, but took the glasses in the back instead of placing them on my head.? When she came back, she threw the glasses onto the table and the glasses were worse. I didn't want her to take them in the back again I was afraid she would break the glasses. Then she gave me a case for the new glasses, when I put them in the case they wouldn't fit because she had bent them so bad. The new glasses I had just purchased for 200.00 were damaged. The ear piece was so badly bent the case would not even close.When I tried to wear them, they fell off my head every 5 minutes. The one ear piece hurt my ear and turned it red. The bifocals were awful. I fell going to get my mail, and fell twice down the stairs. I couldn't see my food that was placed on the table in front of me. I couldn't read with the new glasses. I was very angry about the whole thing. I took them back. Exchanged them. Ordered a new pair, and had the bifocals taken off. When I picked up the second pair of new glasses, those also were bent out of shape and fell off my head as well. I could see out of them if they would stay on my face. Both visits to Clarkson eye care i was treated poorly by these people. I will never go back there again. All the eye doctors I've ever went to before Clarkson in Wentzville, mo. had treated me very well. Im sorry I went to Clarkson in Wentzville. The reason I went there was because I moved away from my other eye care doctor. I went to Walmart to get contacts and I was treated with common courtesy and professionally. I have been a patron to Clarkson Eyecare for years now, at several locations. I have never had such terrible treatment when it comes to eyecare, as when I visited this office. I recently saw an eye doctor regarding inflammation in my eye at this location. I was initially prescribed some eye drops, which ended up being incredibly expensive. It should be noted that my insurance is not terrible and prescriptions have been always affordable through my current plan. So, I called back to request a different prescription that was more affordable. The doctor said that she would prescribe me something else, and asked for my pharmacy. However, the doctor never called in the prescription, so I had to wait over the weekend until I could ask again for them to follow through. The staff said that the doctor "must have called it in to the wrong pharmacy." She must have been pretty incompetent then because I clearly said the name of the pharmacy, and even if she had sent it to a different branch location, the prescription would have shown up online for me. I might expect something like that from the office staff, but not from an actual doctor after speaking with her directly. When I finally got a different prescription, it ends up being even more expensive than the first one I was prescribed! The only help this office offered when I followed up again was that I could come in to get some free artificial tears. What a joke! I paid for a "specialist" visit at this office and they could offer me no more help than what I was already doing on own. I would recommend going here if you want to deal with incompetent doctors and staff who are likely to be unable to help you. As far as I'm concerned, this office only has "specialists" in stupidity, and I will certainly not be returning. read more
