I visited Clase Codigo with my book club for lunch. The service was perfect, friendly and professional. The location is beautiful as well. The table was brought complimentary chips and three dips. The queso was a mayo based dip, salsa and ground beef and bean dip. All three was just ok. The food was just average and a little expensive in my opinion. I had the Dos lunch special which is two chicken enchiladas and rice. I also ordered a side of beans. The food was fine but nothing special. Overall a nice restaurant but the food was not that great and the dinner prices seemed quite expensive for what it was.
We found our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Omaha here! They start off with service from a fresh guacamole cart to make table side guacamole, so good everyone should try it! They have island music playing in the background & big screen TVs if you want to watch sports. We ordered a couple margaritas and split shrimp taco entrée. There are a lot of different entree choices to go back for.
Clase Codigo is such a great addition to the Omaha area! Authentic Mexican food, combined with refreshing drinks and a lively atmosphere, makes this a perfect spot for a night out. If you plan to go on a weekend, expect a wait even if you call ahead. Once you're seated though, expect excellent service from the staff. You get complimentary chips and salsa dips, and can add on fresh guacamole or any other appetizer you like. For dinner; I tried the combination burrito and my wife had the pineapple stuffed tacos. This burrito was huge! Full of steak, chicken and shrimp, this was definitely enough for two. I'd absolutely recommend Clase Codigo for a great Mexican meal!
Recently came for lunch. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The complimentary chips and dips were put down immediately as we were sitting. The 3 dips were beans with chorizo in them, salsa and zesty white dip. All 3 were good. I had the carnitas tocos. They were overflowing with crispy , juicy, tender carnitas. The chile de Arbol style salsa with the tacos was excellent. Most definitely will be back.
We were anxious to try this New Mexican hot spot. The parking lot was packed but we managed to find two spots at the bar right away The atmosphere is inviting, warm, not too loud, very comfortable. The service? Spot on. Happy employees. I barely sat down when someone placed complimentary chips and three dips right in front of us. There was regular salsa, bean dip with (I think) Chorizo, and some sort of mayo-sour cream combo. All was pretty good and fresh, though the mayo thing isn't our thing. Here's the first problem. The house margarita was watery. We really found that shocking. People seated next to us had the same experience. The menu has plenty to choose from. My latest "go to" dish is Chili relleno even though ordering it out is usually more disappointing than not. This was disappointing. It was soggy and swimming in goop. I just don't understand why it is ever served that way. Relleno is so much better when served crispy. I'm certain there was a pepper in there somewhere. My specific order was La Uno, which also comes with beef enchilada, rice, and beans. They serve a lot in your plate here. It was more than enough for one meal so I took the rest home. This made for good leftovers. My dining partner ordered La Dos, which is beef burrito and chicken enchilada. We were really looking forward to this. Everything was right until it came to the food and drinks. It was simply not overwhelming. I'll give it four stars for potential and impressive service.
Margaritas the size of your head! We really enjoyed our dinner here. It was super busy on a Saturday night but well worth the wait! Everyone enjoyed their meals. The guacamole was delicious and they make it right at your table. The chef prepares it to your liking with optional ingredients, so it's just how you like it! He said he makes 150 orders every Saturday! The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, you wouldn't know it's an old Applebees restaurant unless you knew it was there before. The manager came around to our table and was very nice. I learned that the pork belly was new to the menu just yesterday and it was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back!
I can see now why this place is always packed, the food is amazing and very quick. The restaurant style is very contemporary, with the white and black, very minimalist, but it felt comfortable. When you sit down they bring you a flight of dips and chips. Not exactly sure if it was beans with meat but it was good. The middle one was salsa and didn't have a big kick but it had a slight kick. The dip was almost like a street corn dip. All of them were very good, and the chips were fresh. We ordered the house margarita and it was delicious! It had good flavor and you could taste the tequila. Would definitely recommend. Cheese dip had a good flavor the spice was just right, not over powering and lingered after the bite which was nice. I had the supreme burrito with ground beef. The toppings were fresh and gave it a refreshing flavor. I loved the rice, I would go there just for that. I know that's weird but it was really good. My wife ordered the chimichangas with ground beef, and that was my favorite. I would order that the next time I go because it was so fresh and hot when it came out. I can see why there's always a line to get in this place. It was some of the best Mexican food I have had an a very long time.
Wow this place was busy and for a good reason. Everything we had was delicious! The margarita flight was a great way to try the different options they have, the pineapple jalapeño was my favorite. I saw the full margaritas at other tables and they were HUGE. They bring you complimentary chips and dips when you sit down. I really enjoyed the bean dip and the crema. We also go the queso, which was smooth and delicious. For entrees we got the Laredo Grill and the Al Carbon Enchiladas. The Laredo grill was pilled high with protein (chicken, steak and shrimp), peppers and onions with a cheesy rice deliciousness underneath. I loved how all of the flavors melded together. The enchiladas were amazing with grilled ribeye steak topped with queso and came with rice and beans. The portions are also huge. Highly recommend trying this place. Be prepared to wait unless you arrive earlier in the evening (5pm) or late (8pm). We'll be back to try more things and have a couple of their huge margaritas!
A great first experience! The chips were a good texture and having three options of salsa was unexpected. All were different and really good. FYI, only first basket of chips are free. The table guacamole guy was at our table before we ordered our margaritas! Was fresh and really good. The margaritas were tasty and had the right level of lime flavor and tequila. The shrimp tacos were packed with shrimp. FYI they come with a couple of sauces, I caught on but not the second. Wife cannot have and they even though my mistake, they remade for her. That was a nice touch. Place was busy and had a lively atmosphere...will be back to try other items. Also, no happy hour...
I stopped in with a group to celebrate a friend. Honestly the first thing I noticed was how LOUD this place is. They desperately need some infrastructure to help tame the noise. The dip trip was...interesting? One was a basic salsa, one that I thought was cheese was actually something that almost tasted like ranch dressing, and the last one was a bean dip. The chips were nothing to write home about. I had two drinks while I was here, and I will say they were both phenomenal. The mango Marg and piña colada were not only large, but also strong and super delicious. We all really enjoyed our drinks, and I would definitely return for a happy hour. For dinner, I ordered a chimichanga. This was nothing special, and I would say I would not order it again. I do have to mention that our server was not particularly friendly to the point where I would say he was rude. Very pushy to get our order in, seemed inconvenienced, and was nowhere to be seen outside of taking our orders. I would say I would return here for drinks during happy hour, but I don't know if I need to return here for dinner.
Loved this place and can't wait to go back! We visited during the restaurant's second week of opening and were very impressed. Every employee we interacted with was upbeat, welcoming, and eager to serve. When we were seated, we were offered the tableside guacamole. We had to decline due to allergies, but it looked awesome! One thing I thought was really unique (and loved) was the trio of dips served with the chips: bean dip, salsa, and queso. My husband started with a house margarita, which was huge and he was very happy with it. I ordered the Steak Fajita Bowl for my entrée, and it was delicious. It had plenty of protein and tons of flavor. I do wish it came with a bit more rice, but overall I'd definitely recommend it and would order it again. My husband went with the Grande Steak Burrito, and the name truly fits. It was about the size of my forearm. Packed with flavor, and he loved it. Our server actually recommended this one to him. For our toddler, we ordered the Beef Burrito, which he enjoyed as well. It was large enough that we had leftovers for another day and we snacked on it too. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous, and the exterior is just as nice. We're excited to return for a date night!
Honestly had a good experience my first time here. I love how they have 3 complimentary dips to start off. Can't find that anywhere else. Big place with a slightly more upscale vibe. Service was decent. Our waiter was very nice. I would like to go back and try some other things but really enjoyed my birria tacos
Overall the restaurant has a very good vibe with a friendly staff. They are quick to serve you and knowledgeable of the menu. Leaving the 4/5 as my California burrito was okay. The potatoes within the burrito were cut in very large chunks making it difficult to eat. Otherwise I am excited to return and try something else on the menu.

1. Get the steak(azada) tacos! They were extremely delicious. Very tender and perfectly seasoned. 2. The rice and beans that came with my meal were also tasty. 3. Wow this place can pack them in! Went on a Sunday evening and it was very crowded. Service was still good though but it was very loud. They need some type of noise barrier perhaps on the ceiling? They start you off with 3 complimentary dips. I had wished they told us what the dips were but one was obviously salsa which was okay but a bit watery. One was a bean dip of sorts, but mostly liquid and a few beans thrown in. The other looked like a white queso but was anything but. Kind of tasted like ranch dressing but unsure what it actually was. Neither of us really cared for any of them. We split the steak fajitas and those were really good! Came with rice and refried beans The steak was made from ribeye and was both juicy and seasoned which seems hard to find around here! The tortillas were really good as well and I thought the beans had a great flavor to them. I'm not a rice person but my dining partner is and she absolutely did not like the rice. I also ordered a margarita which was delish! I'd definitely come back for the fajitas! Unsure if they have desserts as our menus were taken after we ordered but we didn't recall seeing a dessert on them. Next time we will ask! read more
Yum! We stopped here for lunch and had a great time. I love that you get 3 different complementary dips (salsa, beans and chorizo and a creamy white sauce) and chips - all of them were great! I got the huckleberry mule and it was really yummy. Not too sweet but super fruity and flavorful! I ordered the chicken fajita bowl and it was really good and a fairly large portion. Super flavorful, chicken was cooked well and it had lots of veggies too! Highly recommend. The service was great and the food came out very quickly! I also loved how sleek the inside looked. I drive by this resturant a lot and have wanted to try it and I finally got to. The place is definitely more on the modern side, hard to think it used to be an Applebee's haha. It wasn't as hispanic themed as I initially thought, most of the decor is alchohol bottles. Anyway, The food was really good. Every table gets a complimentary chips and salsa with bean sauce and ranch sauce as well. I thought it was cool that they make the guac fresh in front of you. The portions are pretty big, and my burrito was absolutely filled with heaping portions of shrimp, chicken, and steak. The fajuitas has a wonderful crisp taste seasoned well and super hot like it should be. I will admit the service was pretty mediocore in my opinion. I do not mean to diss the server, but I was more than halfway done with my food and when she finally came to check in on me. I had to ask another server for another water since she wasn't anywhere to be found, but my food came out fast and hot so I was pleased. Would most definitely come back for the food! read more

They sat complimentary salsa flight and chips. More like a salsa, a ranch, and a bean dip. They come around with a cart and ask if you want fresh made to order guacamole which we did. So good. The food came out fresh and fast and so flavorful! Service was great!. Constantly checking on us. Place was packed with a line out hr door. Omaha definitely needed more Mexican restaurants and I will go back! The entire restaurant was all redone and nice inside and they played great music too! read more

I was so excited to go to this place to try the table side guacamole! It was delicious and fun to watch him prepare it. The enchiladas were good, loved the beans and rice. I asked for their hottest salsa and it was SPICY! The server even asked if I was sure since it is so hot. I haven't had a salsa this spicy at a restaurant and only needed a few drops - it was so spicy and flavorful! Service was great even though they were very busy! I think the atmosphere is perfect for a girl's night out. We went on a Friday night at 6:30 pm and it was about a 40 minute wait. read more

This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. The drinks were delicious and the food was amazing. Great flavor, came out quick and our server was great too. Loved everything about our experience. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and had great suggestions. I had a mocktail which was delicious and order the pineapple bowl which I loved not sure I'd ever try anything else since it was so delicious. OMG Clase Código was a much-needed Mexican restaurant in West Omaha! The place was packed, and for good reason. The food was delicious and the margaritas were huge. A highlight was the tableside guacamole, made right in front of you and fully customizable. The staff was friendly, organized, and attentive, checking on us regularly even during the rush. Highly recommend making a reservation, especially for evenings, because this spot gets busy fast. A new must-stop in Omaha! read more
I would give it a strong 4.5. Go uo do to good service. Had the Strawberry margaritas which was absolutely perfectly made. A little pricey at 16 dollars. But honestly worth it. Also had the steak burrito which was made great and perfectly portioned. Steak was cooked great! Was greated right away and seated very fast. Chips with salsa/some spicier dip, and bacon/bean dip was given to me within 3 minutes. Service was fast and great. Was a quiet place and easy to talk to people at the table read more
Really liked the interior design, very comfortable and cozy. Went for lunch with a friend and enjoyed everything! The service was really good even as the dining room filled up. The chips and salsa flight was complimentary and a great surprise! We loved the white one and the chorizo beans, the salsa was just ok. Our food was made perfectly as ordered and served promptly. I had the burrito and enchilada plate, and friend had the chimichanga plate. both were plentiful, with beans and a bit dry rice they were enough for another meal! This is a newer Mexican restaurant that prides itself on authentic Mexican food with a modern flair. There are traditional dishes such as tacos, but created with new flavors. It's a newly decorated, remodeled space that goes along with the modern vibe. A big basket of warm, corn tortilla chips came out before we even ordered. They were served with three mild dips: a queso that had a strong mayo flavor, a chorizo dip, and a plain, thin red sauce. The dips weren't anything special, but they gave us nice start to lunch. Big Bro ordered two generous-sized chimichangas that came with beans and rice. He thought it was just okay, and seemed salty. I had three street-sized vegetarian tacos that were served with rice and beans. The tortillas were filled with peppers, onion, black beans, mushrooms, corn, rice and avocado. I added a drizzle from the hot sauce that came with it. The rice and beans seemed a slightly salty to me, but the tacos were delicious with veggie goodness. We each ordered a Margarita, which were huge enough that a parking lot walk was in order before driving away. Overall, Big Bro decided there were other Mexican restaurants that he liked better. With the limited vegetarian options, I will be more inclined to go elsewhere as well. read more

Loved everything about this experience! Pedro was our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful! We loved the table side fresh guacamole! That was such a neat thing to experience! The salsas and queso were delicious, and I loved the Laredo Grill. 10/10 recommend! It has chicken, steak, shrimp, onions, peppers, and that queso over the rice is a whole move. Their house hot sauces are so good! The pineapple jalapeño margarita was perfect and delicious. The restaurant is very pretty! I love the black and white deco and all the windows. We are already planning our next dinner at Clase Codigo! Thank you for a wonderful evening of celebrating NYE with good eats and great hospitality. read more

New Mexican place in town. Very nice staff, welcoming. Right when you sit down they bring you three different dips and chips. A nice gentleman asked if we wanted table side guacamole ($11). It was fresh and delicious! The chips are very good also. They have a few lunch specials to choose from. I ordered off the regular menu and got the steak street tacos. The black beans and rice had a ton of flavor. The steak was tender and marinated. I wish it came with verde salsa instead of chipotle but I'm sure they would have brought me some if I asked. Also, it's coke products for all my Diet Coke lovers! The margaritas looked great, the restaurant is clean and I hope they start packing the customers in! Spread the word! read more
Delicious Mexican food!!! The vibe of the restaurant is very cute and clean. The bar is huge and fully stocked with tequila!! My house margarita was amazing for being their most "basic." It was a classic strong margarita made with fresh ingredients. The chips are complimentary to the table and served with white sauce, beans, and salsa; all very excellent. I had to try their vegetarian tacos and I was in love at the first bite. They were packed with mushrooms, veggies, and avocado. The beans and rice were a very reasonably sized portion. The beans were rich and the rice was flavorful and well seasoned. Nothing tasted like mush- it was fresh food that was done well. Can't wait to come back! Food was amazing!! The complimentary dips are really good and their margaritas are huge! Staff are always great as well. Would highly recommend! read more

A friend wanted to try the restaurant, so off we went. The restaurant is located on 144th street: frontage road in the SW corner of the OakView Mall property. I was greeted by the hostess upon entry. He was already enjoying the chips and salsa when I arrived. I didn't try them. We were seated in a booth. Interior was traditional (dark wood) with booths and tables. TVs were hung for entertainment. We each began with the margarita flight of four. I would definitely order it again. We declined the table side guacamole. I had the Del Mar seafood entree and he had the pork belly tacos. Mine was 3/5 (I like Roja's version much better; different prep and less use of seasoning). My friend said his tacos were delicious. Service was friendly and timely. I rate 3 stars but gave 4 based on dinner partner's impression. I would return and try something else like mahi mahi tacos with the flight next time. read more

They do not take reservations but they do call ahead seating/waitlist and give you a timeframe. I asked for a timeframe of 8:00 and they were happy to meet that.
