Wow this place can pack them in! Went on a Sunday evening and it was very crowded. Service was still good though but it was very loud. They need some type of noise barrier perhaps on the ceiling? They start you off with 3 complimentary dips. I had wished they told us what the dips were but one was obviously salsa which was okay but a bit watery. One was a bean dip of sorts, but mostly liquid and a few beans thrown in. The other looked like a white queso but was anything but. Kind of tasted like ranch dressing but unsure what it actually was. Neither of us really cared for any of them. We split the steak fajitas and those were really good! Came with rice and refried beans The steak was made from ribeye and was both juicy and seasoned which seems hard to find around here! The tortillas were really good as well and I thought the beans had a great flavor to them. I'm not a rice person but my dining partner is and she absolutely did not like the rice. Yum! We stopped here for lunch and had a great time. I love that you get 3 different complementary dips (salsa, beans and chorizo and a creamy white sauce) and chips - all of them were great! I got the huckleberry mule and it was really yummy. Not too sweet but super fruity and flavorful! I ordered the chicken fajita bowl and it was really good and a fairly large portion. I visited Clase Codigo with my book club for lunch. The service was perfect, friendly and professional. The location is beautiful as well. The table was brought complimentary chips and three dips. The queso was a mayo based dip, salsa and ground beef and bean dip. All three was just ok. The food was just average and a little expensive in my opinion. I had the Dos lunch special which is two chicken enchiladas and rice. I also ordered a side of beans. The food was fine but nothing special. Giving this restaurant a second review!!! I feel as though my experience gets better each time I am there! The food has been wonderful. I switched it up today and got the Philly steak burrito which was perfect. I got to take half of it home it was so big. The service is very prompt and the servers are nice. The restaurant is nice and tables are cleaned as people are leaving. I feel they take pride in that which is great!! This restaurant is on my list as one of my favorites in Omaha. We were anxious to try this New Mexican hot spot. The parking lot was packed but we managed to find two spots at the bar right away The atmosphere is inviting, warm, not too loud, very comfortable. The service? Spot on. Happy employees. I barely sat down when someone placed complimentary chips and three dips right in front of us. There was regular salsa, bean dip with (I think) Chorizo, and some sort of mayo-sour cream combo. All was pretty good and fresh, though the mayo thing isn't our thing. Here's the first problem. The house margarita was watery. We really found that shocking. People seated next to us had the same experience. The menu has plenty to choose from. My latest "go to" dish is Chili relleno even though ordering it out is usually more disappointing than not. This was disappointing. It was soggy and swimming in goop. I just don't understand why it is ever served that way. Relleno is so much better when served crispy. I'm certain there was a pepper in there somewhere. My specific order was La Uno, which also comes with beef enchilada, rice, and beans. They serve a lot in your plate here. It was more than enough for one meal so I took the rest home. This made for good leftovers. My dining partner ordered La Dos, which is beef burrito and chicken enchilada. We were really looking forward to this. Margaritas the size of your head! We really enjoyed our dinner here. It was super busy on a Saturday night but well worth the wait! Everyone enjoyed their meals. The guacamole was delicious and they make it right at your table. The chef prepares it to your liking with optional ingredients, so it's just how you like it! He said he makes 150 orders every Saturday! The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, you wouldn't know it's an old Applebees restaurant unless you knew it was there before. I can see now why this place is always packed, the food is amazing and very quick. The restaurant style is very contemporary, with the white and black, very minimalist, but it felt comfortable. When you sit down they bring you a flight of dips and chips. Not exactly sure if it was beans with meat but it was good. The middle one was salsa and didn't have a big kick but it had a slight kick. The dip was almost like a street corn dip. All of them were very good, and the chips were fresh. We ordered the house margarita and it was delicious! It had good flavor and you could taste the tequila. Would definitely recommend. Cheese dip had a good flavor the spice was just right, not over powering and lingered after the bite which was nice. I had the supreme burrito with ground beef. The toppings were fresh and gave it a refreshing flavor. I loved the rice, I would go there just for that. I know that's weird but it was really good. My wife ordered the chimichangas with ground beef, and that was my favorite. I would order that the next time I go because it was so fresh and hot when it came out. Wow this place was busy and for a good reason. Everything we had was delicious! The margarita flight was a great way to try the different options they have, the pineapple jalapeño was my favorite. I saw the full margaritas at other tables and they were HUGE. They bring you complimentary chips and dips when you sit down. I really enjoyed the bean dip and the crema. We also go the queso, which was smooth and delicious. For entrees we got the Laredo Grill and the Al Carbon Enchiladas. The Laredo grill was pilled high with protein (chicken, steak and shrimp), peppers and onions with a cheesy rice deliciousness underneath. I loved how all of the flavors melded together. The enchiladas were amazing with grilled ribeye steak topped with queso and came with rice and beans. The portions are also huge. Highly recommend trying this place. I stopped in with a group to celebrate a friend. Honestly the first thing I noticed was how LOUD this place is. They desperately need some infrastructure to help tame the noise. The dip trip was...interesting? One was a basic salsa, one that I thought was cheese was actually something that almost tasted like ranch dressing, and the last one was a bean dip. The chips were nothing to write home about. I had two drinks while I was here, and I will say they were both phenomenal. The mango Marg and piña colada were not only large, but also strong and super delicious. We all really enjoyed our drinks, and I would definitely return for a happy hour. For dinner, I ordered a chimichanga. This was nothing special, and I would say I would not order it again. I do have to mention that our server was not particularly friendly to the point where I would say he was rude. Very pushy to get our order in, seemed inconvenienced, and was nowhere to be seen outside of taking our orders. Every employee we interacted with was upbeat, welcoming, and eager to serve. When we were seated, we were offered the tableside guacamole. We had to decline due to allergies, but it looked awesome! One thing I thought was really unique (and loved) was the trio of dips served with the chips: bean dip, salsa, and queso. My husband started with a house margarita, which was huge and he was very happy with it. I ordered the Steak Fajita Bowl for my entrée, and it was delicious. It had plenty of protein and tons of flavor. I do wish it came with a bit more rice, but overall I'd definitely recommend it and would order it again. My husband went with the Grande Steak Burrito, and the name truly fits. It was about the size of my forearm. Packed with flavor, and he loved it. Our server actually recommended this one to him. For our toddler, we ordered the Beef Burrito, which he enjoyed as well. It was large enough that we had leftovers for another day and we snacked on it too. I drive by this resturant a lot and have wanted to try it and I finally got to. The place is definitely more on the modern side, hard to think it used to be an Applebee's haha. Every table gets a complimentary chips and salsa with bean sauce and ranch sauce as well. I thought it was cool that they make the guac fresh in front of you. The portions are pretty big, and my burrito was absolutely filled with heaping portions of shrimp, chicken, and steak. The fajuitas has a wonderful crisp taste seasoned well and super hot like it should be. I will admit the service was pretty mediocore in my opinion. He was already enjoying the chips and salsa when I arrived. I didn't try them. We were seated in a booth. Interior was traditional (dark wood) with booths and tables. TVs were hung for entertainment. We each began with the margarita flight of four. I would definitely order it again. We declined the table side guacamole. I had the Del Mar seafood entree and he had the pork belly tacos. Mine was 3/5 (I like Roja's version much better; different prep and less use of seasoning). My friend said his tacos were delicious. Service was friendly and timely.
