I ordered a TooGoodToGo from Classic Arepas, and wow -- they make an amazing arepa! They gave me one that was freshly cooked, and it was incredible. I even had to wait a minute for it, which just confirmed how fresh it was. The staff was super nice, too. I'll definitely be back!

The Yuca Fries was very not Yuca, feel like mashed yuca? It was flaky and fluffy, weird. Reiner Arepa was mostly acovado. Was excited about this spot in the area :/

I stopped by Classic Arepas and was blown away by the decor and cozy vibe. I started with the tequeños, and they were absolutely perfect, crispy on the outside, warm, and cheesy on the inside. The green sauce complemented them perfectly after each bite. For my main, I had the pabellón arepa, and it was shredded beef that was tender and flavorful, the black beans and sweet plantains added the perfect balance of savory and sweet, and the arepa itself was fresh, warm, and had the perfect crisp texture. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozydefinitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

What a great find on. Sunday morning after a redeye flight from the West Coast. This is a small family run restaurant, which are our favorites, and after our favorite Venezuelan restaurant in Chelsea closed / moved to Miami, we have been missing the awesome arepas they had But miss no more - the food was fresh, tasty and the service (1 stop person) was super friendly and excellent No idea how she kept up with all here Seems, from the number of pickups/deliveries, we saw while eating in that they have a lot of people ordering takeout too This is small with a total if 6-7 tables, so if you don't mind that and maybe a bit of a wait - this is a must stop if you like Venezuelan or Cuban food (both we love)

**vegetarian review** I had been to couple other arepas spots in NYC only to be thoroughly disappointed. So I walked in with little expectations, and maybe that helped. But boy - the arepas here are incredible!!! so so flavourful and delicious. I had wish I was hungrier when I got here, since this was so good. The plantains were the perfect caramelized sweetness required for a balanced flavour. highly recommend, and I know i will definitely go back when in town.

One of the Best Arepes i've ever had. Tequeños de queso are also very amazing along with there homemade green sauce. If your in the area and haven't tried Venezuelan food this is the place!!

Food is made to order, do NOT come if you're in a hurry. Pleased to find they have a student discount. Not very busy in the late evening, one person ordered just before me and waited about 10-15 min. Tried the cachapa for $12, costs $4 to add protein otherwise comes with cheese only. Veg empanada with plantain and beans is $6. Came to $20. Would be nice to get 2 sauces including one for the empanada and the other for cachapa after paying $6 for the empanada alone. Otherwise service is fast and friendly

Came here with my friend, who loves this place- and I now understand why. I got the vegetarian arepa. It was so good!! The corn cake part was golden crisp. The filling was just the right amount of salty (and sweet with the plantains). Cute interior and friendly service. Will definitely be back!

White Maize || Chelsea…read more yummm, def outside my usual comfort zone the cachapa isn't quite my usual vibe but still good -- probably a "with a friend" order next time vs solo drinks and apps though?? really good. the tequeños and my la fresa drink were both winners

On the other hand, you don't have to schlep to Union City, which is probably where the best Venezuelan fare in the Tri-State area is. So...there's that. Definitely come with a group of four (more will be a bit of a squeeze, as the space isn't big--another Manhattan tax). Get: - Mandocas: Kick off your Venezuelan journey with these sweet plantain fritters soaked in raw sugar cane syrup and stuffed with Venezuelan farmer's cheese... - Tequenos: Or get these--a darker, sweeter, similar concept - Guac & Tostones: I didn't actually want these, but our friends needed a more familiar safety blanket during their intro to V food. The fried green plantain accompaniments were a nice change, though - La de Pollo Cachapa: If you love sweet corn, I can't think of a better representation than cachapas. This was a tasty offering, though half the size of others I've gotten--but the pulled chicken and cheese filling was flavorful, as was the corn crepe itself. Cutting it to share, though...that's a messy endeavor - Venezuelan Ceviche: I would skip this unless you really, really want seafood, but that's because I prefer the zesty, citrus-y Peruvian-style ceviche over the tomato-bomb variants. There also wasn't a TON of seafood because, well, Manhattan mark-up. So save your $$$. - La de Pabellon & Vegetariano Arepas: No Venezuelan meal is complete without arepas, IMO. We got two, because we were greedy little piggies. I actually preferred the Veg one, which was overstuffed with avocado, black beans, sweet plantains, and cheese--mmm. The other was filled with shredded beef, which is a solid, tasty choice if you must consume animal flesh. As with the cachapa, though, cutting these to share was a nightmare in spilled cheese and splashed beans. Let's just say, we might've drained the restaurant's supply of wet wipes by the end. For drinky drinks, we opted for the Venezuelan sugarcane classic Papelon (which wasn't as sweet as you might think), and the freshly made Passion Fruit Juice. Might try their cocktails next time, but I just can't pay those Manhattan mark-up prices anymore. Service was fine, and the ambience--true to the restaurant's name--skews clean and white. Note that the Chelsea website's menu is hard to read, but the Brooklyn location's menu is slightly different and doesn't include everything that Chelsea has.

I would say that this was lucky cause the place was packed. Generally loud but you can still talk with people on your party. One of the first things I look for is if a restaurant serves you water when you sit and here they do and the waitress would often make sure we were topped off. That is something that is always appreciated and noticed by me. The food was generally good and service was fast. I tried various dishes and while great tasting nothing really stood out like lots of the reviews said and I tried a bit of everything that was recommended in the reviews. (Even ox tail empanadas which sounds weird but weren't bad). I think the biggest appeal here is that it's 24 hours so you know you always have a quality place to go to that is great. I would recommend it to anyone in the area but I don't know if I would go out of my way for it. I know that if I'm watching another play, it is a great stop for either before or after.

The restaurant is open 24 hours and is the perfect place to go for those late-night cravings. One can sit at the full bar, in the dining area, or get items to go. The restaurant is always lively and patrons get seated quickly. The most I have ever waited for a seat is 5 minutes. There are more than 40 empanadas in corn or wheat shells to order. The menu celebrates diversity through its' empanada pairings. Greek - spinach pie, Cuban - ham, pork, and cheese, Americana - cheeseburger, Bombay - Curried chicken, Brasil - traditional ground beef, Hawaiian - ham, pineapple & mozzarella cheese and many more. Besides empanadas, there is a full menu of Colombian delights to eat including arepas, salads, sandwiches, soups, tacos and tapas. They have dessert empanadas as well. Love the USA empanada, which is apples & cinnamon baked and the Nutella & banana one. You can get it topped with ice cream as well. Really looking forward to my next visit.
