I've owned two classic car dealerships and been GM of some of the largest dealerships in the US. That said, I really like the Classic Auto Mall. Our rep, Adam, was most helpful as we searched for an extra car for the summer house. We looked at used Corvettes, Mercedes SL's, VW and Karmann Ghia convertibles, and others. My wife fell in love with a Mercedes CLK430 V8 Convertible with only 16000 miles. The process was painless with no drama added. Since we didn't bring cash they needed an appropriate time for the check to clear, and they are arranging delivery for us to the beach house in Ocean City MD. I know my Classics, I was an appraiser for Lloyd's of London years ago. I can assure you that nothing I saw was insanely priced, and in fact there were plenty of honest to goodness bargains. The descriptions on their websites are accurate. I'm going to restart a car collection again, (I used to have 50), and I will be making many trips to CAM. Please ask for Adam. What once was the bustling Morgantown mall now is the home to what I can only call one of the largest permanent indoor car shows in PA. What Classic Auto Mall is, is a consignment store for cars. Vintage, Classic, Modern, even project cars. I came as a visitor, so I have no input or advice on how they operate as far as sales goes. What I do know is if you're in the market for or looking to sell Classic Auto Mall may be the perfect place to look into. Visitors are allowed to look through rooms what used to be stores in the mall - each containing just about any kind of car you can think of. All shined up nice and on display. Think of a car show, but indoors, with bathrooms and no crowds and annoying announcers on the bull horn trying to be witty and funny. A car show without the pretentious owners in their lawn chairs watching your every move - then bragging about why their car is best. No sun beating down on you. Comfortably climate controlled in either winter or summer. Then the bonus - if you're in the market - you can actually purchase that dream car of yours right on the spot. I called to make an appointment to inspect this vehicle. The sales agent Dan told me that unless you had an agreed-upon price for the car, you could not test drive it. This makes it impossible to accurately evaluate a car. You're trying to purchase from this dealer. I find that completely unreasonable. I'm going to give them an opportunity to reverse this policy because I plan on buying several classic cars over the next few years but at this moment, I do not recommend dealing with these people. read more

Classic Auto Mall is one of the most unique automotive experiences you can find. It's located in a former outlet mall with an attached hotel, so it's easy to find and has plenty of parking. The entrance is located on the side of the building facing the Interstate. They charge no entry fee, but ask that you sign in at the front desk. Hours are extremely limited on the weekends, so plan for a weekday visit. Before even getting to the vehicles, the architecture of this place is amazingly retro, with several signs from former stores remaining intact. It very much fits the Auto Mall's theme. Vehicles are everywhere including the hallways to former storefronts. Classic Auto Mall does something unique though, as it's both an automotive museum and working dealership. Most vehicles for sale are easily accessible with full writeups attached and staff waiting to help pop the hood for a look. Many of the museum pieces are kept behind glass or locked in gated storefronts. The most valuable vehicles seemed to be located behind ropes near the main entrance. Due to the possible close contact with the vehicles, Classic Auto Mall might not be the best place to bring children, as there's no hands-on exhibits and often vehicles are being moved around. There are snack machines near what is an empty food stand that seems to only be used during events. During my visit, one of the mall's wings was sealed off with pipe and drape as they rent out space for various events throughout the year. I cannot recommend visiting here enough, the experience is unique and the sheer number of vehicles impressive. Worth a stop. read more

I don't even care about cars and I had an awesome time! You name it, they have it. I do suggest setting aside one of the smaller rooms with a couple of stocked vending machines. It can take a couple of hours just to walk around and being able to get a drink and have a seat would be nice. I still highly recommend this place! read more

Worst classic car purchase in my 40+ years of enjoying classic cars! DO NOT BUY without an in person inspection and test drive. And I do mean INSPECTION!!! I purchased a 1934 IH C30 for my wife and I with Adam as the sales person. He offered to have me come inspect the car before purchase and I declined and we did a Facetime walk around instead. Great, we looked over what I could think to ask about etc etc. I pay for the truck and pick it up 60 days later due to scheduling. Upon picking it up I notice the rear dually wheel inserts are horribly rusted on the edges and look brittle. Adam says, "Wow, I never noticed those!", I'd just driven from Montana to Pennsylvania with $2,600 in round trip travel expenses...so I let it go. I haul the truck home and a few weeks later I finally have time to pull it into the shop for inspection. And I find there's a 3" wide crescent moon shape crack in the head and it's weeping oil. Their advertisement stated, "...cab off frame full restoration..." and "runs great". It did/does run however a cracked head is something that should be disclosed!!! Then I notice two of the rear tires are BFGoodrich and their advertisement said, "...all are wrapped in Firestone period correct rubber." Misleading and inaccurate statements through the entire write. So I asked them to do the right thing and credit me $3,000.00 And now they tell me, "I did everything I could to help you out." And claim the head crack "became a problem" during my ownership. HOWEVER, one of the sales photos shows the crack IF a person would have known to scan the head for a crack. Wow, so their joke is on me now. I can't even find a head for this 1934, plus labor, shipping and parts. Plus two new Firestone tires with shipping, mount and dismount. Plus being able to locate replacement wheels for the rear! DO YOUR DILIGENCE...YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM OR WHAT THEY SHOW YOU/CHOOSE TO SHOW YOU. And then they'll claim ignorance with you sucking it up. NEVER AGAIN and will tell everyone I possibly can read more

Classic Auto Mall - Cracked head that they claim "became a problem" after I picked it up...really? - Museums Near Me - Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Buyer beware: be very wary of their write-ups. Note: they only sell cars on consignment, so they have no skin in the game except to sell other owners' cars. They only make money if they put lipstick on pigs, which is what they did with my purchase of a 1952 "Ford" pickup. I drove the truck, noted a few things, like the throw-out bearing, and negotiated what I thought was a fair price at the time. When it was delivered, the trailer driver started the truck and parked it in front of my house. The next day it did not start because the battery was dead overnight. The driver was unaware of the kill switch the previous owner installed because he wired it poorly. Knowing the battery had a serious draw, he installed that kill switch. Obviously, Classic Auto Mall knew because if they every forgot to connect the kill switch, the battery again would have died. The previous owner forewarned them as to that issue and never disclosed it, and the write-up about the truck was glowing. My garage found the electronic choke was "hot," drawing 2.5 amps, and I rewired that. Still, a 3.0 amp draw turned out to be the ignition wired hot to the starter. After installing a solenoid, and rewiring the ignition properly, the draw was under 2, which is normal. All the draw killed the battery, and there are still small issues with the wiring, like the signal and brake lights, mostly due to incorrect brake system wiring. My garage recommends a new wiring harness at some point. My salesperson, Garrett, was a nice guy, and no one who has worked there for years is clueless about the way they operate. No sales, no commission. Just know that this is how they operate, and do not trust a word of the write-ups. Bring, bring your own inspector and test all systems and compression, etc. Do not trust these people at all. read more

I bought a restored 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass S sight unseen, as I live on the west coast. I am very pleased with this car. It was represented well in the photos and ads both mechanically and cosmetically. Adam helped me out with additional photos and phone conversations with his own experience driving the car, and I used his recommendation with a covered transport, which went smoothly and very well. I even got the car 2 days earlier than scheduled. Thank you Adam! Kathy in Admin was also very helpful, courteous, and on the ball with the process. I got the title very quickly via FedEx. Disappointed. My son received some money from his grandmother. He spent a great deal of time researching cars and decided he wanted a 1987 corvette. It was gorgeous so I understand why he loved it. He reviewed all the paperwork which stated that the engine was in great shape. He asked questions. He knew that he would need to put some money into it for inspection. However, within 3 weeks, he had to replace the engine. Since it was sold "as is" there was nothing he could do. So beware- don't always believe what us in the sheet. read more

went to the location to view a classic car and the sales person treated me with a terrible attitude. if they gave me a car i'd refuse it. rude, condinsending and offered no help. sorry he was having a bad day, or maybe everyday is that way. the facility is large and had some beautiful cars, even the one i went there to see was a beauty, but can't trust a car sales person like this. i'd been more serious about the car if the sales person was respectful. i drove about 45 mins to get there and spent less that 10 minutes there. sad! read more

I was there with a club event today and l was on the telephone with a colleague walking through the Classic Auto Mall. I saw a '59 Oldsmobile wagon and made the mistake of opening the front passenger door of the Olds while on the phone. A staff member immediately came up to me and rudely told me to not to touch the cars and to ask for help. (This vehicle looked like it was painted with a brush.) He said there are signs when you come in that say no touching cars and how would I like if someone opened the door of my car. I told him that Ididn't see such signs, show me where they were that he was welcome to open the door of my car. He said not to talk back to him. While still on the phone with my colleague, who overheard the conversation and asked what was happening, I told her that I was being scolded for opening the door of a car without help. This employee who overheard my conversation then threatened to eject me from the Classic Auto Mall and called me a "jackass." If this is an example of how they treat prospective customers, I certainly wouldn't not recommend the place. read more

If you are interested in antiques and classic cars, you must visit. If you're travelling from afar, the is a hotel immediately next door. The is called a "mall". because it was. The building is a defunct shopping mall with cars displays in the general areas as well as in the former store spaces. Humorous is that many of the old retail store signs are still in place. I have been here twice, once by myself, and a second time with a friend. Almost all the cars are for sale (on consignment), with some displayed cars the property of one of the owners. Be sure to allow a good amount of time. When I visited, there were over 400 cars on display (not to mention motorcycles, novelty cars, race cars, pianos and organs). It is part car dealership, and part museum. Very unique is that the mall has barn find vehicles, vehicles in complete disrepair, but ready for simple or extensive restoration. People working there are extremely helpful and will answer any of your questions. This "mall" is one of - if not the - largest in the world. A must visit, even it is a special destination visit. read more

I purchased a street rod off of Classic Auto Mall in April.I took it to a shop to have few things checked out I knew was wrong with it.When the shop checked out the car the frame was so bad it was not safe to drive.The shop also found, back brakes not functioning,motor mounts were bad,drives haft was not installed correctly, and too much things to list.Well 3 months later and $17,000 worth of work and now I can safety drive the streetrod I bought from Classic. Contacted them and said "You signed a "As Is",buyers beware. I tried SO hard to give this place my money. I was the high bidder on an Ebay auction for a broken Range Rover Classic that didn't reach the reserve. Per the ad: We started this engine but was unable to run it long due to the need for a new radiator, water pump and clutch for the fan. So, we did not want it to overheat. We can mention that the consigner states it is being sold as is and no repairs to the aforementioned will take place prior to the sale. You would think that given the current pandemic, and the fact that this truck is going to need $2k plus in repairs JUST TO BE USABLE, they would be falling all over themselves trying to get my hard earned covidollars. After contacting them through eBay, autotrader, and gmail, I have yet to receive a response to my 2 simple questions: What is the price, and how do we move forward? I have viewed this website many times and I have been impressed by the variety of vehicles they offer. I saw a truck that I was interested in, so I contacted them. My salesperson, Adam, was initially friendly and helpful. As time progressed and I was going back and forth regarding inspection and pricing, etc., he seemed to be less friendly. I eventually came to an agreement on price with him. I was contacted by the office manager, Kathy who was professional and helpful throughout the process. I reached out to Adam regarding their recommended auto transporter, and he stopped answering my messages. The truck arrived at my home, and I was told by the driver that when he picked up the truck the guy in charge of shipping at Classic Auto Mall told him that the alternator was bad, but not to worry as there was a new battery in the truck. I am disappointed that I was never contacted about this somewhat important issue. If he had not told me, I could have been driving and the truck might have died on me. That is poor customer service, in my opinion. Nice truck though. read more

We have visited Classic Auto Mall several times since it's inception. At each prior visit we were just looking and having fun. Never were we pressured into buying. We enjoyed the experiences so much that we decided to ultimately purchase our bucket list automobile (1957 Chevrolet Bel Air) from this establishment in January 2021. Adam and the other employees were very accommodating and friendly. The whole experience was incredibly easy and we feel that we made a very fair deal. Pulled the cars out of there yesterday after on 2 weeks, they couldn't of cared less. Purchased a Lexus SC 400 from this place and was satisfied with the transaction until registering and applying for a title in Virginia. I did not bring a "bill of sale" with me as I was offering to pay tax on the NADA average book price as per VA regulations. DMV VA called Classic Auto Mall without my approval and requested the bill of sale on the car and to my surprise and unknowing Classic Auto Mall sent the documentation without my consent or approval. This is a constitutional violation of my rights to privacy and is subject to a Title 42 civil rights violation subject to fines and imprisonment. You as a purchaser from this company should be aware that Stuart of the CAM could not justify his actions as they were based on past procedure as the way they have always done things. So in essence CMA exercises a policy that is unsupported by any rule, law, or code, none of which are constitutionally supported. You may think this is a moot point but corporations constantly abuse civil rights without consideration for your rights. Think about it folks before you deal with any business that puts there well being before yours. read more

They sold my unit in three weeks they made their minimum commission well I went away with $210 less than my minimum may not sound like much but their minimum commission was $2500 so they made 2500 bucks and I went away $210 less than what was my minimum $10 was I had to pay $10 to cash their check your bank don't even give them them a courtesy of cashing their checks for them without you having to pay for it so they'll sell your vehicle and they'll get paid you just won't. You would think that if they were smart as they think they are they would've gotten me my minimum and settled for $2300 commission considering I have three more vehicles to sell and the one that they sold for me the first one was the one that would net the least amount of money not very smart they didn't even offer to split it with me will never do business with them again read more

Excellent experience in the beginning, Very helpful with any questions and concerns. Found some questionable ads online for the same car and asked about them was told they must be fraudulent and to ignore. When vehicle arrived found polishing job was done incorrectly, overpolished in areas so bad that wore paint down to primer. items that were not mentioned in ad and were not mentioned by salesperson. Ad stated that parts were changed but were saved, and they were not included with vehicle when arrived. called and asked about them and was told would look into and get back to us. Never a callback. then to make matters worse, when registering vehicle DMV found that title given was not most current and that there was another title out there so couldnt register vehicle. Was told would get fixed and overnight only to find out was sent regular mail. No documents to support all claimed work that was done. had to make a call again to get info sent. again regular mail. Then found that other online ads that were for same vehicle were the ads that were from the original parties that they purchased from a year or so earlier for thousands less...Overall a horrible experience and will definately pass this along to anyone asking about this place.. read more

We found the car we have been looking for for years, a 1937 Ford Tudor that wasn't hot rodded out. We were excited! We called and talked to Ed. We got financing through JJBest (they are wonderful so not included in the 1 star rating). We paid $500 to hold the car and got car insurance on it. We called on Friday and talked to a woman who sounded like we were an inconvience to her day and told her we were buying the 1937 Tudor, we were working with Ed and would be there on Monday. We drove 10 hours, paid a 47.50 toll and finally got there at 845 am on Monday. No one was there to meet us. Adam, tried to help us. We said we wanted to test drive the car that was supposed to run, before we signed the purchase agreement the people of the classic auto mall seemed surprised. The car that stated it needed a jump to start wouldn't start. Turns out the starter was bad. The offered to push start it to show us that it really started. They then ran the car into their gator and dented the grill a part that costs over 600 without installation. At no time did they say they were sorry or offer to pay to fix these items. Instead they said things like, "If you would have let us know you were coming we would have gotten the car ready for you." When we discussed it with the office lady she said, "Maybe it wasn't meant to be." We drove 20 hours round trip and paid almost 100 dollars in tolls for them to wreck the car and treat us like crap. We called when we got home, hoping to get a different answer from Ed. He didn't offer to fix the damage either, he and said I'm sorry that happened to you. Needless to say we will not be purchasing a car from this company and recommend that you look elsewhere for your car. read more
