It's a beautiful instrument. They bake on the finish rather than the cheaper method, which supposedly is the better way to go And cost the same amount of money so there's no built-in obsolescence when you buy a brand new instrument they put the worst finish on those and they don't bake it normally because they want you to buy a new instrument every 10 or 20 years. Another thing to know is Auld instruments are best to purchase and get refinished, because the brass is brand new and not garbage brass like the new instruments are made. If you do have an old French horn or instrument take it and compare it with brand new ones at the store and you'll find that your old instrument sounds much better than the new ones do - it's amazing! The reason being is the brass is old and new and not recycled and made from old brass it's made from brand new brass that was never used before and recycled. It's the recycled brass. It's no good. It doesn't resonate anymore or as well as the new old brass.!!! Purchase an old instrument and have it made like new again and we sure will be very happy with that or use your old instrument yourself that you've already had for so many years!

The guys took care of the tuba, the billing to school, and helped me load the tuba into my car. Last month I am looking for a specific music book for my son. I used their web form to ask question and the manager responded to all my questions. He had to special order my book. Ever since Ken Stanton was acquired by Private Equity-owned Music & Arts, customer service has…read moreplummeted. I recently needed to change my billing information as I got a new debit card. However, if you need to make a change to your billing information associated with lessons or music rentals, it cannot be done online, only over the phone. When you call, expect at least a 30-minute wait for "customer service". I finally called the store, and they were able to correct my billing information for lessons but not the rental. Then I had to spend another 30 minutes trying to get the instrument rental billing fixed. I finally just paid off the instrument balance so I wouldn't have to deal with them again. Finally, the way lessons are handled is a complete scam. Prior to the acquisition, if you needed to cancel a lesson in advance, you were not charged. Now you are charged regardless of when you cancel. You can "make up" the lessons, but this is nearly impossible during the summer when multiple weeks of lessons are being missed. The teacher doesn't have the flexibility to do that many make-ups. In short, it is a total scam. We will be looking for a new lesson location.
