If all you are looking for is a good car wash, consider this to be a 5 star rating. But if you need to prep your car for a sale or photo shoot, you might be better served by a veteran in the industry. My car is a tiny coupe but with a black exterior. Having had the car just washed and detailed on the inside, I needed the outside polished. I spoke with John on a Friday, requesting pricing and availability for an exterior-only detail. He was eager to earn business and shared his pricing: $85 to wash, polish, clean wheels, brake calipers, dress tires, and an additional $150 to clay bar the car, which he said was necessary, but kept rounding the total to $250. I obliged, even though a detail shop would have charged the same. John arrived on-time. I had to find us two parking spots and also remember to pay for both spots, as John got straight to working. Before I finished paying for the spots, he was done with the clay bar on the front right of the car and had started polishing, and by the time I reached my building across the street, he was working on the other side. Within 2 hours he called me to come see the car, which actually looked not a whole lot different than when I had left it. The calipers were still dirty. The trunk still had the micro scratches. And the clear bra line on the hood remained as-is. John had neglected to wash the car or the brake calipers, and he could not do so now after having waxed the car. Maybe John had to be somewhere, or maybe it was not a great morning. But I find myself $250 lighter for a car that does not look much different than before it was detailed. read more

My car is a true city car - lots of small scratches and knicks plus a handful of much bigger scratches... There was one big one over a wheel - John talked me through what he could and couldn't do based on the depth of the scratch (had taken off a bunch of paint). And then he really delivered on his promise!! Outside the area where we'd talked about the paint being gone, John made the rest of the issue disappear (we're taking a solid 12 inches of scratches here). So the woes of a pet owner - as many of us have become during COVID-19 is pet hair everywhere in your car along with the beach sand and other muck your new best friend brings in. Interior detailing - my car is used to transport my dog to and from the park for walks on a daily basis. I used to have a seat cover on the back seats but didn't bother to replace them for a few months which led to dog hair and dirt everywhere! It was MLK day so I had the day off of work so I tried to vacuum the hair out myself but I learned pretty quickly there was no way a regular vacuum was going to clean that mess. Hopped on yelp and found Classic SF Mobile Detail. Gave them a call and was excited to find out that they were available for a same day appointment! By the time they were done - you wouldn't have even realized a dog uses the car everyday! I had the full interior detailing service which included shampoo washing the seat. This review is way long overdue! We were extremely impressed and satisfied with our overall experience with John. John was professional, kind and very efficient! I initially reached out to 10 different car detailing companies via the Yelp messaging service, as I needed someone who would work with our warranty company. Long story short - our new car was delivered with water spots that the dealer missed on initial inspection and the water spots wouldn't come out with a normal wash. Our warranty company offered to pay for a full detail but we needed to find a company that would accept third party payments. 9 out of 10 of the companies either just declined my request on Yelp, or asked if I could just pay out of pocket and have the company reimburse me (which I had no problem with, but the warranty company was very specific with their process). In the other business's defense, I could see how it might sound suspect, but not one person bothered to hear me out. John was the only provider who took the time to reach out to me, listen to our situation and provide me with the estimate I needed. He also happily worked with the warranty company and kept us in the loop the entire time. Once the estimate and payment was all taken care of, he came to our house with all of his equipment and took his time servicing our car. I wish I took pics of the detail but they probably wouldn't have done the job justice, our car looked brand new as it should have when it was delivered. You could literally see our reflection as clear as a mirror on it. John was even nice enough to provide us with some of the wax he used and offered some advice on aftercare and how to upkeep the cleanliness. I was very lucky to find these guys. We bought an older RV in good shape, but the exterior hadn't been cared for at all, and it probably had 30 years of oxidation on it. It also a couple rust spots, and I was worried the rust would get worse if we didn't do something about it. But it's an old RV, so I didn't want to pay for a whole new paint job, which is big money for an RV. We had a hard time finding detailing shops who would take an RV, because it's so big. We had a few estimates from mobile detailers, but they really wanted BIG money to do that work, because it's a big vehicle, and it really needed a clay bar treatment, among other things. One guy flaked out on our appointment, then showed up unannounced a few days later. He had the cheapest estimate, and I was almost willing to overlook his flakiness, but then he couldn't even describe to me what kind of treatment he was planning to do on the vehicle. Too many red flags. These guys showed up when they said they would, did the job others said would take two days in one day, and dit it well. They treated the rust spots to keep from further damage. They made it look fantastic! and the price was reasonable. Not as cheap as the guy who who flaked out on the first appointment and then couldn't describe exactly what he would use to do the job, but I'm guessing going with that guy would have cost even more in the end. They were still the cheapest of all the "real" professionals. One of my neighbors didn't move his truck far enough from the RV and left town, so they wrapped it up with a plastic tarp and tape, which I appreciated, because I don't want problems with my neighbor. They cleaned up after themselves and left our 32 year old RV looking as new as a 32 year old RV can look! You can see a couple pics of it here on their site, the blue and white one. I will be working with these guys for all of our vehicles from now on. I highly recommend them. I don't usually write reviews here unless it's make sure people know when I am unsatisfied with someone's service (I know, I should also make the effort when the service is good!), but these guys asked me to write a review since they just started a new business. I am gladly writing this review because they made us very happy with their work, their professionalism and their price. I always recommend people get a few estimates before buying any product or service. If you do, you will realize Classic Detail is the way to go. Or, you might end up meeting the flaky guy I met with the cheapest price. You probably won't meet him on the day you scheduled to meet him, though, and he won't be able to tell you exactly what he plans to do with your car. read more
