I rescheduled for Saturday morning and added in my boyfriend's car. We're flexible but need it done by Saturday afternoon at the latest, I'm selling my car and want it detailed by 3PM. "No Problem" he says. I get a call Friday night "Someone snuck in an apt before you, I'm going to be running late". OK. We just need it done by 3PM at the latest. We're flexible. Saturday morning, the time of our apt, I get a phone call: "Hey, my phone was switched so I'm having trouble with my password AND it's raining so your cars won't dry (even though we're in a garage) AND I'm having trouble with my payments AND I may get sick because you know, it's cold outside" No offer to reschedule. Note to self, when removing tree sap from your car, use Goo Gone (the sticky stuff remover), not Goof Off (the paint and gunk remover). Anyway, after having parked under a drippy tree all day in the park, I stupidly used Goof Off to remove the sap off. I ended up scratching my car up in over a dozen areas. A car wash with wax didn't do it. My dad's waxing worked for two weeks and then stopped. I needed a pro, but couldn't afford the potential money it would cost to bring it in somewhere. Then I read about Aaron on SFGate, and decided that's exactly who I wanted to support. Aaron and I corresponded mainly over email (I have no time during the day to make calls), and a few calls. We scheduled an appt for him to check the car out. He laid out the range of prices, and depending on what's needed, it would range $200-$300. He only needs access to water (hose hookup) and electricity (the machine that buffs). After he checked it out, he came back another day with a helper to do the job. They spent around 3 hours working hard on the car. He was very friendly and definitely knew what he was doing. My car looked absolutely gorgeous when he was done with it. Thank you! It cost me two big ones, but it was well worth it to have my car back in its original condition and then some. Three weeks later, the scratches have not returned, so I'd say it was a success! Aaron made sure I was aware that if he missed anything, he'd be happy to come back and fix it. Naw man, you did good. When I asked this guy if he had a Yelp page and he asked what Yelp was I knew I had to share this GEM of a man with the entire yelp community. I have two kids. Two car seats. Two little drink-spilling-snack-dropping-stink-making little angels. My CRV was straight up disgusting. Stained seats and caked on bird droppings. Olive oil... how much trouble can a simple $9 bottle of Trader Joe's Greek Olive Oil be? Answer: Way more trouble than I ever imagined possible. Who knew a glass bottle of EVOO can shatter when left in the backseat of a car in the Novato sun and have all its contents absorbed in the backseat/carpet of a Corolla? Not me at least, until now. I googled "olive oil car spill" like any person in this wacky, surreal scenario would do. "Replace the car seat." "Call a junkyard." "Use kitty litter/cornstarch/baking soda." "Buy some bread." "Find a good detailer." Aha! Now that's one that I could use. To say Aaron is a nice guy doesn't really even scratch the surface. Aaron went light-years above and beyond to try to help me in my olive oil dilemma. Although he wasn't able to salvage the carpet (the oil had soaked up into the carpet padding), he was able to help me NOT have to purchase a new seats because he was able salvage the backseat where most of the oil had spilled and absorbed. He recommended me to his friend who was able to replace the carpet and padding at a good price. And he followed through after the carpet replacement to complete the interior cleaning of the car.
