The advice I have just given to another person, in a social group, to go to get his goalie pads amended/changed I was reminded of use of Classic Upholstery. At that time, we lived in Lacey and had no close hockey pro-shop while still needing my teenager's brand-new goalie pants fixed. My review from 03/01/20 needs to be amended and I should have provided a higher rating. It's been three seasons; the pants and Classic's fix is still holding strong! The hold and the redesign of where to have the buttons/tabs is remarkable. Being a goalie, playing over 24 games per season, and one to two practices per week while constantly having to go down to his knees and getting back-up can be stressful to his expensive equipment. We have since moved from Lacey to an area where I have a trustworthy pro-shop repair shop, but I will definitely recommend Classic for repairs to any of our friends in WA state. read more

Mike and Celeste did an excellent job with my dining furniture. The chairs did not have cushioned backs so Celeste designed a velcro fixture to the chairs thereby allowing backing to be attached. It's unfortunate I'm not able to attach photos for you to see. Their estimate was comparable to others, perhaps a bit higher, but worth it for the "classic" job they did. Highly recommend. read more

Classic Upholstery is the only place I'd go to in Lacey. The staff are just beyond friendly and they're always able to complete the job quickly. I just had my dog bed and computer chair re-stuffed. My dogs love the stuffed dog bed because it gives them good body support and gives them better sleep. The second time, I had to get my chair stuffed, and the job was done in mere hours. I thought it'd be done in a couple days. Great staff and great work. Their timeliness has greatly improved. If there's anything wrong with my furniture, Classic Upholstery is the one I'd call. read more

I don't know how anyone could give less than five stars to Mike and Celeste. They are the most personable and customer-oriented people in the business. They recovered my grandfather's antique mohair couch and another antique chair for me. You can see the shape they were in on Facebook for the awesome results. I found them simply by luck. When Richard's Upholstery changed to specialize in cars and boats only, I had to find someone else. I checked them out and never looked back. Their prices are fair for the amount of work that went into each piece and the cost of materials. Their experience shows in each product refurbished. I am now bringing them business from Mukliteo. Not sure why my profile says I'm in San Francisco...I'm in Olympia! Classic has redone 3 pieces for me in the last couple of years - an antique chaise, a modern armchair and a 3 piece sectional. I just love them and the work they do. I really could not be happier. They are very accommodating and try their best to make things the way I want. I trusted them to rebuild/re-form the arms on the sectional to a more current look, using their best judgement and they did a fantastic job. They also reinforced places on the sectional to make it even more sturdy and long lasting. Like I told them, I wish I were younger, because this sectional is going to outlive me. Wish I'd had it done long ago. And, it's beautiful!! read more

Review of Classic Upholstery, Olympia, WA May, 2014 I recently had a loveseat recovered by this small in-home business. Celeste at Classic Upholstery helped me find fabrics that worked for me. I paid to have them pick up my loveseat and take it to their shop. Celeste said she'd have it ready in about three weeks. It was not ready as promised. I learned this - by calling Classic - that she had had a family emergency a few weeks after the original promised delivery date, and was out of town for a time. At no time did anyone from Classic ever call me to let me know what was going on. Finally, after three months, they called to deliver it. When Celeste and her husband arrived with the loveseat, I was stunned. It was a good-looking job of upholstering, but it was done in a completely different way than we had discussed. Celeste's husband was clearly annoyed, but they took the piece back and said she'd re-do it. Finally, another couple of months later, they called to re-deliver it. The loveseat was upholstered correctly this time. It was delivered by Celeste's husband. It looked good, and I was both pleased and relieved to finally have it back. Celeste's husband demanded that I immediately pay him the remaining amount owing. I asked him to give me a copy of the bill and he said I already had one, and he would not give me a copy. Then I asked that they send me a bill. (I needed to move some money to cover the remaining amount as I had only the day before returned from a trip out of town.) I did not dispute that I owed the remaining amount of the charge. He became incensed and began to yell at me. In my house. He moved to take the love seat back. I offered to write him a check post-dated for the next day, and he rather grumpily agreed to that. I still cannot believe that even though they had my furniture for nearly half a year, they were not able to be reasonable about payment. This man scared me with his anger, and I strongly suggest that they figure out some other way to work with their clients. I did not make the mistakes on the upholstery, and I tried very hard to get information and to be in contact about what was happening. I was sympathetic and extremely reasonable about how long it took to get my property back after so much longer than the original promised delivery date! Being yelled at in my own house was really the last straw. Finally, the upholstery work on this loveseat seems fine. I don't know if I can separate the quality of the work from the nasty experiences I had with the Classic Upholstery owners. I believe in supporting local/small businesses, and I want to give as much credit as I can. However, Classic owners really need to be more respectful of their clients, and they definitely need to improve their communications! Should you choose to work with them, I recommend that you get everything in writing as thoroughly as possible, and if you must have the work done by a certain date, you might want to consider someone else. read more

These people are conniving deadbeats that don't pay their bills. I was foolish to let myself be taken in by them and I hope I can save somebody else the misfortune that I had by posting this. I lost $1600 by selling leather to them. It's a shame they are still in business ripping off other vendors. I can only imagine how they treat their customers. Bought a set of custom seat covers and didn't want to put them on myself thinking an upholsterer would know short cuts and make them fit best. Turned out I was right. Custom seat covers aren't always 'custom', and some alterations might be needed. Mike did a perfect job. Had to do a small alteration and very fair price. Great job, I'd use them again. read more
