Went to Michael's Custom Upholstery, spoke with the owner who gave some great advice on color, material, and style. Very open and honest I decided to have them make them. My review is based solely on Michael's customer service due to not being able to find the appropriate upholstery for the driver's seat back of my 10 year old Honda. I was dealt with courteously and with understanding regarding my decision to maintain the factory leather seat cover. My deposit was refunded without hesitation. Had a challenge finding an upholsterer that would even answer their phone. These folks had a live body on the line and all the staff we dealt with were very friendly. They recently redid some boat seats for us and their quality of work was excellent, pricing very fair and finished the project earlier than estimated. We were quite pleased with them and would recommend them for other projects. If they only did covers for pontoon boats we'd back in a flash to use their services. read more

I washed my couch cushions and when I zipped them up, two of the zippers broke. Brought the cushion covers to them and not only did they quote me a fair price, they gave me a REFUND because they were able to fix the zipper instead of replace. Service does not get any better than at this business. If I need anything upholstered I know where I am going.

Michael or his contracted staff do good work but get it in writing. Michael agreed to make cushions for me for $1900 dollars more than the going market rate but later breached our verbal contract by not providing the ultra leather material as agreed. He is cozy with the Pierce County District and Municipal Court system and prevailed in a law suit against me while he breach the contract. I've been ordered to pay him an additional $600 that brings the total for the work to $2500 for a couple of cushions that would have cost $1400 to $1500 at another upholster. Beware, get it in writing, don't rely on his apparent "nice guy" routine. The shame of this encounter is he could have had my other business if he would have been fair and honest. read more
