Service was quick with lots of seating options. There's private and street parking. I ordered: Everything bagel w lox: Great amount of spread with an okay amount of salmon but nonetheless I'd order it to just try it but I don't think I'd order it again. Nice little spot! Friendly staff, attentive service and quality food and beverage. Recommend the Local Sausage Egg and Cheese on an everything bagel - wish there was a little more sausage but loved the bagel and fried egg. Dirty chai was very espresso forward but creamy and nicely spiced. Would stop by again - especially to see some live music! read more

The best coffee and breakfast in town!! I am a huge fan and wish Clatter existed back when I was growing up here. It's my favorite place to stop now when I'm in town for the holidays. I ordered the mocha with oat milk and this time tried their bagel sandwich with bacon added. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back again before I leave town! read more

My sister lives around the corner from Clatter so we always make a stop when in Frostburg. Great coffee, food and vibes. Dirty chai is to die for! Everything is fresh while maintaining the flavor, nothing is too sweet which I really like. This would be a great place to study or work if you need it. Always friendly, helpful and efficient staff. We did the scenic train ride so we were just wandering the Frostburg area and we found this coffee shop. The staff was so friendly. It's a cute little coffee shop and definitely somewhere good to stop and relax. The coffee itself was amazing and my husband loved the Matcha. read more

Came in here after a workout on the Gap Trail needing coffee and food to recover. They had decent beans but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the rice and bean dish with avocado, one of their lunch rice bowls. What I got was an ice cream scoop shaped ball of white rice with a tiny smear of avocado on the side and maybe a quarter cup of black beans. If I wasn't starving and uncomfortable mentioning something, I would have given it back. This place may be the only option in a small town but it's lacking. Also asked for to go beans to be ground to use at our rental, and the barista ground them to a fine espresso grind when I asked for drip. It made me wonder how well trained their baristas are. read more

Chai - on point. Coffee - on point. Breakfast sandwich - on point. Music selection - on point. Service/Vibe - on point. In an area with little to no competition this place could easily settle for being average but that's not the case. I would say their on the same level as any option you would find in major cities. I 100% look forward to coming here every time I'm in town. Def check it out if you're in the area. read more

I visited Clatter Cafe 3 times during a 3 day trip to the area. The shop is phenomenal, as the reviews tout. It's probably the hippest spot in the whole town! Full of energized young people. The prices are crazy good. ($2 for an iced coffee!) The drinks are tasty. (The espresso looks like it might rotate) The variety in menu is nice. (Some signature drinks too, and they even have skim and soy milk) The local flavor is alive and THRIVING. (You will notice a huge emphasis on community, they discourage talking on phones, and even have signs that say to use headphones) On our final day we waited 23 minutes for 2 lattes and 2 brewed coffees. Obviously that was really frustrating. But it could have been completely avoided it they just told us the high volume of orders ahead of ours. The real only ~issue~ is the staff. They are young but I refuse to let that be an excuse. A little communication goes a long way. read more

Stopped here while traveling through on a Saturday around 11:30am. I have heard a lot of good things regarding this spot locally- as frostburg really doesn't have more than one sit-down coffee spots. This area is becoming more young-hearted and hipsterish (not that it's a bad thing) with record stores, vape shops, IPA bars, etc and this coffee and sandwich shop fits the bill. Upon entry the first thing I noticed was how small the store is. I would venture to say there are 4/5 tables, a couch, and some bar seating. If they are busy- it may be a good idea to take it on the road, or- if it's warmer weather sit outside. The decor is very modern, repurposed wood, concrete countertops, older furniture and modern amenities. The ordering process is a little hard to manage as well- I saw the order here sign, but with people sitting at the bar it's intimidating to order with Sven or Claude listening in. I went with a 1/2 grilled cheese and cup of soup, and decided to not get an iced coffee as I was very intimidated and didn't want to be a coffee house n00b and say something stupid. Waitress and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food came out in about 5min which wasn't too terrible given the crowd. Grilled cheese was standard, didn't taste any caramelized onions as listed in description, and the soup was decent- definitely having real crab as I kept finding shell pieces in it. Overall good. I'll stop again very soon for some coffee- and maybe a mug! Thanks! read more

Ive bee waiting to check this place out for about a year and I'm glad I did. I was skeptical at first because I kept hearing a lot of people talk it up about their coffee...and I don't drink coffee. Then, I realized they have other things for breakfast and drinks. My cousin came in from Baltimore and we ate here for breakfast. I had a morning bagel with bacon and a green tea latte. I really am a huge fan I actually was a fan of how you can order half sandwiches. It's just enough for breakfast. And, I actually ordered another green tea latte to go. I never thought I'd be that person, but maybe it makes sense. The place is super cute and retro. They are personable and it seemed pretty packed the entire time, so their business is good. I like all the decor and little quirks. Will be back. Probably tomorrow. read more

Everything you could ever want in a coffee shop! This is actually one of the best restaurants in the area if you're not from here. Vegetarians and vegans, they've got you and that is rare here! The staff is warm and welcoming, the music is well selected and produced, and the quality is excellent. I'm from Seattle and I live here now, and I'm buying a house that is specifically in walking distance, because it's that great. read more

A charming brunch surprise from this local cafe. From the looks of biking-gear and jogging attired patron, this appears to be THE spot for health-conscious regulars. We had the chance to delight in this local gem. We had the Matcha Green Tea, Earl Grey Tea and Breakfast Bagel. We watched as our barista patiently brewed my tea with the assistance of an egg-timer! Cozy ambiance and very friendly staff! Locally grown teas! Various types of coffees; pour overs, lattes, siphon, chemex. We had the Ethiopian pour over and some hot chocolates, very good. Happy to hear their house coffee is Basecamp!! Squeals! Had yogurt parfait's and the Mornin Bagel. An open face bagel with poached eggs, cheese, onions, micro greens, and candied jowl bacon. Yes. Breakfast sandwich was probably the best I've ever had. The staff was also incredibly nice and this is a great location. I substituted the bacon with some avocado and it was really satisfying. I would definitely give the breakfast sandwich five stars and would've given the whole experience five stars although my wife found the coffee a bit better. read more

Loved this little coffee shop. On a rainy Saturday morning we couldn't have asked for anything more after finding this place. The mushroom frittata and bagel sandwich were amazing. History

Established in 2017.

After a year of renovation we opened the coffeeshop and started trying to get good at what we do and serve our community. In 2019 we finished up a kitchen and a second room that allowed us to expand our seating, our food menu, and our musical and cultural offerings. In 2022 we added a cocktail bar to help support a chill, conversational evening vibe along with coffee and food. Clatter was created to help keep the best things about Frostburg going, by making a place for its people and others to meet over good things prepared with intention and respect.

Nice decor and clean bathrooms. Some in our party wandered through the quaint artisan village across the street while we waited for our food.

Now here's the kicker... I hit a major jackpot about an hour ago, but they wouldn't pay me because I have the paper copy of my new ID issued by the DMV that they gave me until my federal one comes in the mail. Make that make sense? I had my original license that expired while waiting for the Real ID to come in the mail plus my social security card. Unbelievable! They gave me a No ID form and said come back when you get your new ID and you can get your money then. So, I guess that paper ID that is only issued by a DMV is good enough for you to take my money, but if I win it's not? Funny how that works, isn't it!? I'll definitely be talking to an attorney about this in the meantime. I'll never play here again. God forbid I can sit there and play with that ID but if I win, it's an issue. Smfh!!! The employee(Joseph) who came to handle my jackpot and has worked there for five years said the same thing. He couldn't believe it. It was the lady who was in charge of him who acted like I did something wrong. Horrible vibes, that lady. Smdh! Once my ID comes in the mail I'll drive back two hours to get my measly $1432.11 and I will never come to this place ever again. Btw, you think they'd comp me for my time, my gas, the aggravation, the emotional stress, etc. Nope! We stayed in cabin 10 and it was fantastic. Great loft and king size bed, wonderful linens, great bathroom, nice porch. A higher-quality coffee machine would be nice. It was so great to get away from Baltimore and enjoy the peaceful serenity of W. Maryland and WV. We wish there had been more staff and people around but we made the best of the area by visiting Frostburg and many local restaurants and coffee shops. Although they were out of a few options we tried to order, our server was SO KIND and comped a bottle of wine for us, which truly just was above and beyond service. Everything we ordered was delicious! The crab dip, the steak frites, the salmon + Cajun risotto, and the pinot noir were all excellent. Only -1 star because the road to get here is not for the faint of heart! It is essentially 1.5 miles of narrow backroads, with a lot of pot holes, and in the pitch black December night it was a bit worrisome to drive. I 100% recommend having an SUV to get here. Hopefully they will be able to make some improvements to the road because it is not in great shape.
