However, my friends and I were seated at the bar and the food took almost half to 45 minutes to come out, even though it wasn't that busy (only half the seats were filled in the restaurant for 1-2 pm on a Sunday.) I went to Claudia's on a Saturday for a birthday brunch. Thankfully, it wasn't too crowded considering I went with a group of 6 people. Karen was so sweet and attentive. The plate includes a small cup of crema, which is probably the single-tastiest item, that went well both as a garnish on a tortilla with eggs and black beans, and as a dip for the sweet plantains. This was actually my second attempt to visit here. When I tried to visit in October, it looked like there was a water main issue or something similar, since there was a big hole and a bunch of workers in front. Quite happily, this visit, they were open. I came here for lunch, since it seemed like they had a few more affordable options for that. I'd had a huge coffee on my way here, so I just had the traditional breakfast (w/Chorizo) with water, which made it a very reasonably priced meal for what you get. Everything was good on it, but I think it really needs one of the extra options (like the Chorizo) to really fill it out, unless you're getting something else to eat. It was pretty early when I went, so there were only two other tables occupied. It was pretty quiet. The one worker (bartender/hostess/wait staff) I saw was polite, but too busy to be super chatty, which is fine. I'm glad I finally had a chance to stop by, and I hope to get a chance to return on a future visit. read more

The breakfast is very fulfilling and made fresh. This place can become crowded so I recommend arriving before the brunch hours actually begin. The Boozy Brunch Box is $30 and comes with a choice of mimosa, bellini, OR bloody mary along with a coffee + entree + the daily dessert. This is not a bad deal at all! I didn't know I wanted to be sold on the virtues of yucca fries until I had the ones coming out of Claudia's kitchen. I love my deep fried root vegetables as much as the next person, but the crispy exterior, fluffy innards, and perfectly sized wedges of these babies had me wishing yucca fries were as ubiquitous as the classic potato french fry. And that sauce! It's probably just a version of chivey mayo but wow I lapped that stuff up. They make me feel like I'm eating something more refined and less bad for you than fries with mayo and that alone is worth celebrating. All hail, the yucca fries at Claudia's! I kept my expectations for the vegan tacos in check but they also surprised me in the best way. I've had one too many vegan dishes that are added to a menu as an afterthought to appease people of all dietary restrictions, but theirs felt thoughtfully put together. The plantains added both a crispiness and sweetness, the beans created a toothsome bite, the guac added a creaminess, the pickled jalapenos and onions punched it up and brought it all together. The plantains were so crispy and well made that I got a whole 'nother order of them as a side. I helped myself to the textured fries that came with my friend's fried chicken sandwich, which was apparently also delicious, and am convinced they a sorcerer working the deep fryer. Hyperbole is way more interesting to read so I'll just stick with that. All of this impressive food came out of the condensed menu offered at their food truck too, so consider me doubly impressed. read more
