They have two dining areas, but they are covered areas on the outside and not in a building though the seating areas are enclosed. The lobster dinner comes with a whole corn cob and very good coleslaw. My husband and I ordered the Taste of Main lobster dinner that came with a 1 1/2 pound lobster, a whole corn, some coleslaw and a small roll. For some reason, my husband's lobster was significantly larger than mine, which means I may have gotten a 1 1/4 pound lobster. They only offer 1 pound, 1 1/4 pound, 1 1/2 pound and 2 pound lobsters. I know my husband's could not have been a 2 pound lobster because that's what I originally ordered and was told they were out. In any event, the lobsters were perfect. They don't tell you, however, that when you pay, you are charged $2 for the nut crackers they give you for the lobster. You get the $2 back when you return the nut crackers. I noticed that when I looked at my receipt and saw that I had been charged $31 for the dinner which their sign said was $29. This is definitely a place to return to. read more

First time to have lobster. This place had excellent reviews and always had a line. We ordered the lobster roll. Asked if we wanted it hot or cold. We opted for hot. Also ordered the fried haddock and fries. $25 for a lobster roll that was inedible. The lobster meat was so rubbery we couldn't bite it. And it had no flavor. We had never had lobster before so we didn't know if it was bad lobster or we just didn't like lobster. After talking to friends about our experience we should have taken it back. We wonder if since we ordered it hot they microwaved it which over cooked it. The haddock was very good but also very bland. Ditto the fries. For a $60 meal it was a bitter disappointment. As far as the service, it is basically fast food. You order at a counter and they do bring it to you, but no one sees how the food is or if you need anything. came here to eat not too long ago and let me tell you this place is DISGUSTING! i ordered a clam basket with onion rings and a lemonade. how can they mess that up? when my clams came out they were soggy and the batter wasn't even cooked. the onion rings had a sandy texture to them horrible. when i went up the the bar area to grab my lemonade i saw two of the girls inspecting the lemonade machine and i over heard them talking amongst each other saying that there was MOLD growing in the container that the lemonade was in. i continued to watch them pour the lemonade out into a pitcher to serve to customers and take all the pieces into the kitchen to wash. i was served moldy lemonade. don't go here unless you want to be ill. read more

Went for early dinner so no wait. Overall food was a bit pricey but really good. The scallops wrapped in bacon were awesome. The chowder was ok. Much better at Rockland Cafe! The lazy man's lobster was a generous portion and swimming in butter. Yummy. As well as the coleslaw and corn on the cob. The stuffed haddock with crab was beyond great. Very tasty! And for all the naysayers about the location: it's off Route 1 with a view of the water and it's supposed to be a shack. What do you expect table cloth dining? Really! OK, so I have a somewhat mixed review of claws. There were six of us in our party, so some reviews were good some not so good, but nothing bad. For me, I was able to snag a gluten-free lobster roll. That is pretty cool, especially the baguette that they used was tasty and surprisingly high-quality. That being said, this sandwich reminded me that I'm not a fan of lobster LOL however, if the lobster filling had maybe a little bit more mayonnaise or maybe some chive or some other seasoning to it I would've enjoyed it more. The fries were good. A couple people in my party got whole lobsters, and they really enjoyed that meal. My wife got lobster bisque which she really enjoyed and lobster mac & cheese which she did not enjoy that much because it tasted more like past Alfredo than a Mac and cheese dish. Another person in my party got the surf and turf burger and he said it was one of the top 10 burgers he had ever eaten. I also got a blueberry lemonade which I enjoyed and had a lot of fun smiling with blueberry all up in my teeth Space is limited for seating, but the dining patio was, shall we say "customizable" because our party, along with many others were moving tables around to accommodate different size parties. read more

This is the trailer park of restaurants. It has the ambiance of Denny's. You have to wait on a line to order food then go o fine a table. Good luck. Be prepared to eat in your car. I would recommend this place for takeout but the cook is very experienced at ruining good lobster. Skip this place. read more

A lovely lobster spot with an amazing view. It's outdoor seating so it's dog friendly! My sister's favorite was the clam chowder. After eating several lobster rolls in Maine, I honestly can't say which place has the best lobster because after 2, they all start tasting the same. Lobster meat cooked till tender, dressed in mayo or hot butter, then slapped on a roll. It doesn't taste bad, but it all tastes the same since the main star of the show is supposed to be lobster. The lobster Mac and cheese was amazing, and the cheese fries had a good helping of seafood in it as well. We kept talking about Claws even as we ate our way through Maine. We had such high hopes, but this was the biggest disappointment of our vacation. Every dish we ordered ranged from too salty to unbearably salty. We enjoyed our experience at Claws but let's be realistic, it's a pretty overpriced seafood shack. The $21 lobster rolls are rather overpriced and taste OK but nothing to drive out of your way for. The lobster was actually well done and the dish we enjoyed the most. However, the accompanying clams/mussels were rather dry, bland and uninspired. Overall, the food is pretty decent but rather overpriced. The location and view though is excellent. While we were in the Camden-Rockport-Rockland area last week we drove by Claws a few times and decided to have lunch before leaving town. What a great choice! I ordered the 1 1b lobster (no sides) and an order of the lobster Mac & Cheese. My lobster cravings were satisfied immensely! The lobster was cooked perfectly and the Mac & Cheese was definitely comfort food heaven. My mother and aunt both ordered lobster rolls and they was the most impressive ones I've ever seen - it was overflowing with lobster and was quite yummy. My cousin ordered the shrimp roll which was also overflowing and equally yummy. If I am ever back in the area, I will definitely be going back to Claws. read more

We stopped at Claws on a recent visit to the area. Unfortunately the line to order was long and the people in line for some reason didn't know what they wanted to order even after standing in the incredible heat for a long time. But we were ready and ordered quickly. It was a rough start but not to be blamed on Claws. They definitely made up for the wait when the food arrived fairly quickly and was so good we came back the next day. Second day was even better because we avoided a long line! After witnessing a long line at what appeared to bed cute seafood shack, we were extremely disappointed. Our $45 meal that took 45min to get was well below average. Our group of 6 loved everything we ate! We were skeptical of the place, the parking lot is small, and nearby parking has claims of towing! We first ordered a tuna sandwich, kids chicken basket, and steamers to share for the three kiddos with us; adults got a scallop basket, shared the steamers, and a 1lb lobster and fries. The tuna sandwich "was really good," the scallops melted in our mouths, and the lobster didn't require butter, so sweet. One of our party jumped back in line to get calamari, fried clams, and clam cakes. All of it was amazing. Best clam cakes I've ever had (a little spicy!). I cannot stress how fresh and delicious the food is. Side note, this is also the best restaurant restroom I've ever used. Truly top notch place!! read more

I did not like their service. I ordered the ultimate combo which comes with a variety of seafood. The menu was ambiguous in the pricing, we all thought it was $26 dollars with the handwritten marker, but when I went to pay, it turns out to be $36. The three looked like a two. I was hesitant to purchase since it was a extra $10 I didn't expect to pay, but the cashier swiped my card before I can reorder. So please make sure you check the price they write down. Upon collecting my order, I noticed the crab was missing and when I asked about it, the cook apologizes saying the cashier should've told me that they were out of the crab and would substitute a chowder for it. A chowder was already included in the combo and so I asked for a discount instead. He mentions the crab is so cheap, another chowder is a good substitute. I was too hungry to argue so I just accepted the extra chowder. There's a $2 deposit for the shell crackers and so my group put in for 2 crackers. My friend only had a $5 bill so the cashier just took it and claim she'll just give it back to us. I knew she would forget and lo&behold, after our meal we had to repeatedly tell her we gave her a $5 instead of the $4 bills she tried to give back. If you're going to take my $5 bill instead of your $4 charge, kindly remember we gave that to you. It's a small shack, only a handful of customers, so I feel you would remember what you promised. Thank you to the cook, you were kind and helpful in your explanation, but please re train your cashier. My experience was not great and although I enjoyed my food, the service just turned me off. The lobster was huge and corn was amazing though. Lobster bisque was good too. EDIT: I looked over my receipt just now and noticed the cashier charged my card $40.60 instead of the $40.50 that was due. My fault for not checking the receipt and what I was charged, I'm too used to cashiers charging me the correct amount. Tasty seafood at reasonable prices. Our favorites were the whole lobster with butter (of course) and the fried scallops and whole clams. You can taste how fresh it is, rather than the bland long-frozen seafood you might get elsewhere. The fried were thick-cut and crispy, with a bit of seasoning. I think their cocktail sauce is homemade, because it also had something extra. Great place! We also enjoyed having some beers and looking out over the water. Again, good prices. read more

This is an adorable fish stand on the side of the road with a lovely deck to eat on with beautiful views of the bay. On to the food!!! We had Soft Shelled Lobsters - Probably the best lobsters we ever had. Sweet and succulent. Totally fresh. Lobster Mac n Cheese - best we ever had. Heavy on the lobster, light on the cheese. Seafood chowder - delicious Kraft Mac n Cheese for the kids - I highlight this because if your kids are like mine, they don't want the fancy stuff. They want Kraft. Crab dip with chips - Off the charts good. Like french onion dip with chunks of crab, believe it or not it works - very well!! I can't say enough great things about Claws. The bathroom is immaculate with whimsical lobster & crab cartoons on the walls. They also have individual dental floss for you to clean your teeth after eating ears of corn. Steve, who worked at the counter, suggested a great local beer (the red claw) & showed us how to crack open our piping hott crustaceans. We ordered the twin special at $20. What a deal! We made it a combo with corn and slaw for $4 extra (worth it). Steve said a 1lb lobster is more of a snack because you don't get as much meat. I'm so sorry to give a one star. The onion rings and French Fries were great. I did not have a lobster roll (my fault) and did see many roll out of the kitchen looking awesome. I had the crab cake burger which I could not eat. It was awful. Mushy. I had a stomach issue after eating only two bites. The roll was good. My bf had the fried clams and I have to agree with another reviewer they were heavy and batter thick and just fell off. The steamers were just ok. Claws: "Not all it's cracked up to be." After reading all the reviews and awards I was so excited to go here, but it wasn't super thrilled with the end result. The prices were great and the servings were pretty generous, but the rest was perplexing. We got a lobster meal, calamari, and a lobster roll. The meal came with undercooked corn, and shellfish with little to no flavor. The really weird thing was the calamari, it was chewy, had kalamata olives, banana peppers and parmesan cheese on it, came with a TINY cup of marninara sauce and really odd tartar sauce that tasted like an armpit. Ordered two of the 1.25 lb lobster dinner - they were soft shell so quite a bit less meat than the night before's lobster pound at Dip Net at Port Clyde (hard shells), but flavor was still good! Pure Maine. My experience at Claws made me so happy. My husband and I are on our honeymoon and have the goal of experiencing exceptional seafood and craft beer. We started off with the Taste of Maine ---- lobster, corn on the cob, cole slaw, and potato chips. Being lobster novices, we did some YouTube research. SO DELICIOUS. The lobster meat was so fresh and flavorful. We followed it up with some seafood chowder and calamari. My husband loves the fried olives and banana peppers mixed in with the calamari.
